With the weather we've had in England for the last 8 months conditions are an absolute killer for us higher handicap folk. Good on you for getting out there and still filming despite knowing that weather and conditions are not your friends. Even in the South East anywhere other than a links course seems to be a swamp. Well done Dennis, very relatable. I've been beating myself up over recent bad scores, but you are right, better weather and conditions will make a massive contribution to better golf.
Dennis, you're swing's interesting, cos you're doing some good things, but there's also some interesting things happening in the transition. You have great athletic ability, nice rotation and a good straight lead arm. What seems to be happening is because the takeaway is slow you're instinctively injecting pace when starting to transition to the downswing, which seems to be leading to you standing up in the transition as the body has no where else to go. This is probably why your consistency is all over the place as you have to have great timing to marry everything up. I would say trust your swing and have more rhythm by being less purposeful in the backswing and just letting go and being more rhythmical. Of course, plz take this with a HUGE slice of discretion as I'm an average 16 HCP who probs doesn't really know what they're talking about and even if what I say was true it could bring up other inconsistencies. 😅 but yeh. looks like you're trying to hit positions rather than letting go and swinging through. As always the pro will know 😅
Playing through it all with a smile on your face... The only way to be! Enjoyed following on from your early videos mate and you've progressed so much. Putting it all together on the course at the right time isn't easy but keep doing what you're doing and you'll defo succeed. If not it's a great excuse to just keep playing loads of golf. Great vid as always, look forward to them. I'm not usually one to give advice but something that turned me into a bunker magician: I can see that when you're in bunksville you're really opening the club face. I know this is the standard theory but *trust* me, just use a lofted club like a lob wedge and just square the face up. Hit it like a normal duffy chip and commit to it. That was a tough one. Lots of good stuff in there tho 👍🏾 You and me need to have a little session together with the flat stick. It's costing you too many shots.
@@BogeyGolfUK glad you carried on. Just that first shot of the edge of the bunker hasn’t been so high it could have taken someone out 😂 or a car window. I bet you were 💩your pants on the second shot. A guy in the background was watching as well. Well done though it’s not easy filming and playing when you’re having a bad round.
Mate. You're transition and release are PGA standard, but you are double crossing yourself by aiming right and manipulating your hands. Align straight and keep your club lagged to start power fades left of target. Keep hands passive and concentrate on path with big muscles. You do smoke the ball!
Worst feeling in the golf is, when your entire flight is waiting for you, cause you wait for people still on the green to move and, and then you top it and roll 10m forward.
Great video. There is a real danger in taking well-meaning advice from anyone but a proper pro (definitely not from me!! 😂). I look at your grip and think it could be a problem but others have mentioned alignment, swing, transition, etc …. A pro will be able to help identify a couple of things that might really help (and you won’t waste time “fixing” the wrong things). I really enjoy your videos so please keep them coming and keep enjoying your golf - I look forward to seeing your game develop over the season 👍
I’m certainly not a pro golfer by any standards but when you putt, you tilt your putter face forward quite a lot causing the ball to be hit straight into the ground and bouncing a bit at the start. If you can perfect your putting your scorecards will look much better then before. As they day, drive for show, put for dough.
Greens looked tough out there mate. Keep at it. Just a note, on the 18th bunker green side, try and have the ball in middle of stance and stand a little closer to the ball. Should make for better contact 👍 keep going
Great video mate, course looks fantastic. Noticed with your putting that just before the stroke you position the butt of the club forward, almost like you would with an iron or wedge. May be contributing to overhitting your putts.
I had a tip recently. Take your grip with the club straight out in front of your belly button height. Bend from the hips and you should feel your hamstrings tighten. Literally soften the knees and youre at your natural address position. It really worked for me i can tell you.
