- The premium luxury arm of the Hyundai group has launched the Electrified Genesis GV70, a big SUV that offers a lot of practicality, technology, and potentially great value for money. It offers a premium design and the only letdown could be its efficiency, but what do you think? Should Tesla be worried or would you buy this over the Tesla Model Y, Mercedes EQC, or the BMW iX3?

Should Tesla be worried?
no :D Model Y is cheaper
This guy gave a really good review and managed to keep me watching to the end, he's clearly done his research and homework on the Genesis.
Hi GB, Really intelligent and unbiased review. I bought this car a week ago and liking it more each time I drive it. I got more info from you than I got from the dealer. I live in the NYC area and the problem we have here is Hyundai is dragging their feet in opening dedicated Genesis dealerships - I purchased mine from a Hyundai dealer. The whole experience was more like buying a Nissan than an Infiniti. Foolish of them as they are obviously competing with Lexus, Acura etc. The good news here is pricing. Unlike the UK you have two choices here. The 2024 GV70 Electrified comes in two flavours - Advanced (the base model) approx £53,160 or the Prestige, that is fully loaded. I bought the Prestige (including tax and all those annoying little adds to the final invoice) for £64,310. No negotiation as the 2024s are hard to find. As with most things the Brits pay in £'s what Americans pay in $'s. Much as I like the car I'm not sure I would have bought it for £75.000 plus. A lot of options here at that price. I have subscribed to your RUclips channel. If you want more info just reply to this post. Best, Retired Brit in New York
Thank you, appreciate you. The US pricing is much better, I think Genesis in the UK is still building its name as well so for the pricing, it’s still takes convincing for most people. What think you can’t take away from Genesis is the quality and the level of tech you get
This is the best most informative review of the E-GV70. Have traded in my Tesla M3 LR AWD for this car. The range is a bit wanting but it can charge so fast that it makes up for the range deficit over the Tesla. Looking forward to the luxury and comfort along with the ease of settings. Won’t miss the phantom braking of my Tesla.
Very good review. Just wondering... can you bring up a digital speedo on the digital driver display? I like to see a digital speedo right in the center of the gauge cluster.
I don't have it anymore but trying to remember and I think you can in settings when you change the view. Thank you
it definitely feels like a car built on non-EV chassis. which means it is amazing for those who already had petrol cars and want to move to EV but not really innovative in a way of re-thinking the design and make bold changes. this is very safe option, yet expensive.
Display is clearly small and too far from hands. Controllers dials are no longer needed i think.
360 camera is really good, Tesla is missing this.
Very impressed with quality of the video, Tomi! Carwow style!
It's definitely a safe option. I do sometimes think it's not necessarily a bad thing, tho if they keep the space big inside. Thanks for stopping by

Thanks for the great review on my next purchase (Whenever it comes to Canada), any word on towing capacity? I know range drops like crazy but it's a non-issue when the boat ramp is less than a kilometer away from the cottage...😉
Thanks for watching. That's awesome, Official Towing Capacity is 1,800 kg
Thanks for the in-depth review. I can stop looking at eGV70 reviews now as you’ve virtually covered it all.
The top of the line GV60 is £74,000 so this proposition for the same price gets you tri-climate, 3D drivers display, opening sunroof, 20cm extra length ( 503 l boot cf. 432 l boot and presumably a little more rear cabin space) but since there’s a legacy transmission tunnel front to rear not as airy feeling and poor foot space for rear middle bench passenger.
There’s the undeniable distinction in style not everyone will like the curvy GV60 styling.
I look forward to a revised version of this car being built on the E-GMP platform then maybe efficiency above 2.5 mi/kWh might be materialised.
I note it is also 155kg heavier than the AWD Sports Plus GV60. 😢
Thank you. Glad it was helpful. This is excellent but I also love the gv60
The augmented engine sounds add to the drivers ability to sense the speed they're driving/accelerating at.
You should be able to feel it, the sound doesn't add to my speed perception when it's faux
Random question. Did you shoot some of this review with the Vivo or Samsung as I've just watched your comparison video.
Yeh I shot some of the test while we were filming this
was waiting for this video :)

I like the unique design of Genesis. They know how to compete😮
Absolutely
I'm becoming a fan of the GV70E.
It's a brilliant car
I'm just going to call that-automotive-company-that-starts-with-an-H-that's-not-Honda Genesis's Daddy from now on.
Lol
Cool
Top notch - the video and the car! 🤌🏿
Thank you
