As an owner of GV60, the range is actually much less of thing that you think thanks to one trick up Hyundai E-GMP battery architecture sleeve. You can DC Fast Charge from 10%-80% in 18 minutes (my experience in winter in CT is still a great 30 minutes) which many EVs with slightly longer ranges can't do (looking at you Mustang Mach-E and GM Ultium). In my first month of ownership, I've had no real problems with the range even with winter and have no problem driving to and from the far reaches of NYC from rural CT. On my home 40 AMP charger, I can go from a 30% to a full charge in 6-7 hours. (While I'd rather slap myself than use the supplied home outlet cord, I never experienced any of the stop charging issues you had).
I have a GV60 and live in Australia. I live in Queensland, meaning we don't have the same extreme cold weather you guys get, so I don't know what the battery is like when it gets below freezing. What I can say is I tested my full range by charging to 100% the other day and it read 465km (290 miles). That was with climate control off. Climate control set to 1 (the lowest) takes off about 30km estimated range (from memory). Setting it higher will chop off about 4 to 5km per notch (it goes up to 8). I think I can get the range higher as I have a lead foot, but that said I usually drive in eco mode. I will hit the boost button when I want some fun overtaking or getting onto an on-ramp, which likely is also bringing down my estimated range. Everyone would like more range, but to be honest, I've not yet needed it. I charge at home exclusively, and it meets my needs - others needs of course may differ.
Thank you for the review. This is my favorite vehicle! I absolutely love the looks both inside and out. The technology is so cool, the rides so comfortable, and the boost button a hoot! And it even has a crystal ball
A video for this channel not from a black void!? Looks kinda cool as a whole, but agreed some weird choices when you look closely. 235 miles range!? Woof that's bad; especially with how much most legacy auto EVs lose in cold weather as you noted (30%+) compared to Tesla (15~20%). Not sure what you're on about price-wise though, the performance variant base price is $68,290 compared to the Model Y Performance's $56,990--over $10,000 more (not including likely dealer markup). The base model is $59,290 vs Model Y's $53,490 (+ qualifying for EV tax credit of up to $7500).
Ooof I had looked at this car, late last year, even priced it up, but somehow didn't pick up on that range i thought itw as closer to 300? is there a large battery variant? . Where i live, unlike say USA where thousand mile plus road trips common, 300 miles or thereabouts, (or a Tesla with a bit less because of SC obvs) means I basically never need to charge away from home. 235 is a real show stopper for me. And BTW when i priced it it was similar to the MY LR but the MY LR has since dropped substantially in price.
Suitable for Openpilot hands-free open source driving with no wheel nag. Reduces fatigue on long boring drives, and OP is evolving and far more open and under owner's control than other systems.

If this was your second car or something you want to lease for 3 or so years it would be a fun car to have. I'm still on the fence about the proposed subscription-based battery from another manufacturer.
Looks nice, it’s going to be difficult for most auto manufacturers to beat Tesla on the specs and charging infrastructure. The Chinese EV manufacturers are coming and will fill the void in the American market. EV sales double every year after they reach 5% new sales penetration. The US will reach 100% in five years. (Behind China and Europe. Trucks will happen later).
You said it; ‘little’…..small….and very disappointing range!!!!!! 230 miles if you buy the performance ………what else would you buy. Has to be the performance otherwise the Tesla is the better deal!
What's funny? For most vehicle owners, EVs are just straight better than ICE outside road trips or if you live somewhere you can't charge at home--safer, better performance, much cheaper cost to own, quieter/smoother ride.

I agree with Ben on the need for high battery capacity (and thus higher range), and Tesla-quality charging infrastructure.

Good video, why blaming Genesis for the recharge network ? Do you blame all electric cars for that issue ?

@@Joe-lb8qn I think the base (non-performance) variant of this vehicle was 248 miles. Still not great.

I happen to like the look ... But I still think that the whole EV universe needs a LOT of tweaking before I'd even consider one

An EV Worth Buying? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

ofcause. To charge this car it costs $9 for 200 miles..Now how much you pay every time you tank your ICE? 40-60-100 dollars? ))))))))
