When a station says in use on the app, but really isn't, you can still use it. Just plug in first and when prompted for payment, tap your phone on the square that says members tap here. Also, it's kind of funny that along I95 the most reliable stations (aside from the new single cables) are the 2 old ABB ones (Somerdale, NJ and Pooler, GA).
Nice car. Not one that I can afford. But I can tell you that I am just happy to get a charge. I have been driving EVs since 2017, and it's far better now than then. Yes I like getting great speeds on the charging.
Indeed! I used 4 different networks, and still only actually paid about 20$ because of leftover charging credits from the bolt with EVgo (which you can use with chargepoint), and we did for chargepoint, everywhere but in Myrtle beach, as that chargepoint wasn’t connected for some reason, and current credits, for free 30 minute electrify America sessions, and of course the circle k charging being free.
Thanks... as someone contemplating this vehicle, this is very helpful. I'm just curious about your average speed compared to your efficiency? I have a trip in mind that is about 360km but mostly on rural 50 mph speed limit roads where I would be doing ~55-60 mph the whole time and wondering if the GV 70 Electrified will beat it's rating on such a trip under mostly ideal conditions. Wondering if you'd be so kind as to share your thoughts. Thanks!
For anyone without free charging, you would save quite a few dollars with EA Pass+.. Averages $0.12/kWh less for $4 a month. You save money after 33 kW.
Never having been to the USA, or even had an EV _(Yet!),_ but do you have to download loads of different apps to use the different charging stations like we have to in the UK which is bl00dy ridiculous? In all my 45 years of driving vehicles with engines, I've never had to download anything before filling up with fuel. Just turn up, fill up, pay with cash or card and drive off. *_Having to download different apps for different charging stations is beyond me. Especially when sometimes, you can't even get a signal to download the app for that station before using it._*
Did you use the in-car navigation system to navigate between charging stops? I have the GV70 EV and haven't done a road trip in it yet. I changed from a Tesla, in that I could put in a destination and the car would automatically route me via charging stations. Does the Genesis GV70 EV do the same thing?
I live in the UK and it's the same here - intermitent reliable charging stations outside of Tesla. I had a Jaguar iPace for 3 years that was on the 1st Gen 400v battery so it could only charge up to a max of 100kW. I've ordered a Genesis GV70 Electrified, due in Dec or Jan'24; one of the reasons being it's ability to charge at a faster rate than the Jag......... but I suspect I'll find very few Ionity 350kW chargers working. We live in hope ;-)
As much as I like this GV70, I would rather drive my Hyundai Ioniq plug in hybrid for this road trip, absolutely no range anxiety with 60 mpg. I can plug it in as well whenever I want to.
Thank You for All that you are doing for our Planet Earth
Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste 🙏🏻 😊 🌈 ✌ ☮ ❤
Thanks!
No, thank you for your continued support!
Excellent video. No nonsense.
Thank you!

Very nice!
It will never NOT be funny watching you put 5k miles on a brand new loaner
I saw that lucid 👀.. Great video! Really shows the diversity of charging situations out there!

As a GV60 owner, I would love to see an honest review of the GV70. Maybe a range test?
I’ve got a review posted! No range test available, unfortunately, because I had to give it back, it was a loaner while my gv60 was in the shop

This was average speed of 65-85mph
Do you know the Bolt EUV EVgo credits are good for 2 or 3 years?
I’m actually not sure exactly how long they are good for, I haven’t had ours expire yet, and it’s been almost a year.

Oh for sure!
how did you pay for all your charging?
Great video on how well the GV70 charges. One question: what was the average speed you were driving on the highways?
Depended mostly on if I was driving or the gf, but mostly between 72-79
Good job it charges fast, 90% battery charge and 222 mile range is not great!
Thankfully that super fast charging can definitely make up for it.

Should I get this or get bmw x3m?

It does not automatically navigate you between charging stops

Hahaha for sure
You are gonna love that GV70.
How are you finding the GV70? Also considering one on lease for about 450pcm.
Which navigation did you use to plan the route?
Honest answer, planned it at the end of each charging stop.
How did Genesis feel about you putting 5k miles on their loaner?
They probably were not very happy about it hahaha

JUST LOVE HOW THESE ev OWNERS GET SO EXCITED WHEN IT REACHES 80%
You will spend fortune on rechargers and will come later on destination then someone who goes with train or bus
Stop complaining and drive.
I’ll be honest, your facial hair or lack of it put me off watching
