I bought all four C.H. albums on the same day in 1994; Neil's lyrics and the guys' music - exclusively - saw me through the breakdown I was experiencing at that time... I love their music forever ❤ Rest in Peace, Paul. 🕯
This album still stands up now, mainly because it’s a close as you can get to a musical family. So beautiful and very very precious. Catherine Wheels is so moving. Music and the elements are a fantastic combination. Rocking out in my armchair. I’m back in love with music and people.
My wife heard the first Crowded House song on her 40th Birthday. It hit her hard and deep..she is a devoted fan and follower of everything she possibly hears or reads about..plus all concerts in CT.NYC and Massachusetts. This band is pure genius And talent. Keep writing and recording..wish we could be in Australia this Thanksgiving for the Encore shows. Robert and Kathy .
Cheers for posting this. Still have this on VHS cassette tape. That Summer got to know a guy called Nigel Horrocks who owned the amazing house where the album was made with that view over Kare Kare (in a valley lit by the moon). He also ran a record label called "Greenstone" with a few Maori artists including one Emma Paki. Definitely a spiritual vibe at that "edge of the world" rugged beach. So fortunate to be part of that scene, including some great parties where I met some of the former Split Enz and that "c*nt" Jaz Coleman from Killing Joke. Harvey Keitel also stayed there while making The Piano. Still haunted by memories of those west coast beaches, Piha, Kare Kare, Bethels, etc. New Zealand has some seriously magical places.
I met Nigel, too! You met him two summers before me. So, cool. I've still got a collection of songs from his Greenstone label. Great stuff. I'm happy to share if you're interested, though you maybe already have a copy. That's awesome, your story. I have one of my own, so it's cool to hear a similar story from someone else. Thanks for sharing!
I lived in this house/studio for four months in the New Zealand winter of 1996 while I was researching an original screenplay. SO Great to see this!!! Thank you!
Great to see this 24½ years after I discovered Crowded House and bought Together Alone! And how magical to see the choir singing their part of the title track, it reminds me what a beautiful piece of music that really is.
Yep that's her! She was a character. PHD Marine Biologist. Since married her daughter, but Mary unfortunately passed earlier this year. RIP Mary. @@Joeyrobertparks
Happy 30th to Together Alone, a masterpiece. Thanks for sharing Peter!!

Their music transcends all musical trends. Simply timeless.
Split Enz was my first concert when I was 12. Crowded House 3 times. My favourites of all time!! Neil Finn, my first crush, so talented 😍
I am delighted that I got to see the area and at least the house (from far away) years ago. I simply adore Crowded House!

This album is etched in our souls❤️ love these boys! Thanks Peter for posting!
Heartbreaking to see Mark at 02:14 be so excited (that's Midwestern excited, FYI) to be considered one of the band, and not just a gig musician. x
So young, yet thank the good Lord, all of you knew what you were doing. Magnificent. Thank you. Play all of it all the time. XO
Capitol would of been surprised when "building a bridge" was added to the costs.
Oh, heavenly song and beautiful place. What a superb band. Xxx
They should now release the version of the album with all the "wild bits" left on.
Forgot how beautiful this was - thank you Peter.
