Thankyou Both Gentlemen, Never had, Never will say a Bad Word about You, TRUE INSPIRATION AUSSIE STYLE in the 80s, ( nothing like today's don't what to call it ), Didn't realise I GREW UP, LISTENING TO STARS/LEGENDS, THANKYOU.
Wow! This is a great acoustic live cover of the Kinks "Lola" ! Their voices are great together! Please make more music together. It's not to late !Your voices are still so beautiful!
That was great. Neil's vocal is just perfect and Jimmy compliments it so well. One of my favourite songs. I was hoping they wouldn't fuck it up, but after those first chords I knew he was gonna nail it. Brilliant. Thanks.
I liked this a lot! Thank you for uploading! Jimmy's harmonies sound great to me, but I'm a massive fan of Neils and have never heard Jimmy before, so there's not much else to say :)
I love a lot of bands, but The Kinks and Crowded House are right at the top! That was a brilliant version of Lola, Neil and Jimmy's voices worked well together.
2 of my Music hereos. I am glad the friendship and musicality has lasted all these years as they still play and sing together when touring in Aus or NZ.
So.....this is where Eliza and Liam get it from, it's a wonderfull thing for a fan to see the Dad's singing together, while being such a big fan of Liam and EJ.............beautiful, beautiful, beautiful music XX
I'm huge fan of Neil Finn's work. This is something different - from out in left field. I love the Kinks. I love this song. This isn't my favorite version, but it is interesting.
Interesting that Neil said that he, and especially Tim were greatly influenced by Ray Davies songwriting. I remember seeing Tim being interviewed on morning TV several years ago when he said that he thought Waterloo Sunset was the perfect pop song on a level of its own.
Personally I like this! You've got two awesome vocalists in their own right combining in a not too serious attempt at Lola that isn't exactly the easiest tune to cover.
When Neil does the beginning he sounds like a continuity announcer, Ray sounds like he’s recounting a funny escapade to his best mate. That’s the difference
the thing I feel with "Sir" Paul is that he doesn't quite have the same level of humility as Neil... maybe that "world domination" which Crowded House only "nearly had", in fact assisted him/them in eluding that level of notoriety which The Beatles reached, and had to contend with... Paul doing it in his own way...
Awesome job - hardly reheaersed - difficult song with strange chords - 12 string takes a lot of work to control - ok harmonies - lots of words - if you were in a pub with a fire going on a winter night you would beg these guys to sing that once more so just smile.
Yeah, normally I left only minimal chatter at the beginnings, but this one was a bit longer. I shoulda posted the time link, glad someone else thought to do it
It looked like, throughout the whole song Jimmy was itching to just get out of the seat a bust it out, but as have been said in previous comments, Neil has a very mellow voice, still a great voice, but so incredibly different in comparison to Jimmy's. I enjoyed it, i could deffinetely listen to this often and no doubt will.
Gotta admit it took me a couple of listens to get to like this one. Jimmy seems a little lost - he obviously wants to get into his trademark vocal range, but Neil's voice keeps the song more low-key.
What a goofy thing to say??? what does 50??? have to do with how one sounds?! Tina turner??? re started her career in her late 40's...numbers are so judgmental....the voice knows no age ever.....unless you are sucking on cigarettes...do you need to be 20? to sound good...tell that to Aretha,Rod,david Byrne,Jimmy Barnes,Luciano, ah BONO, ah on & on...I forgive you with love for that silly comment.
Neil has to go down as one of the best song writers of the last 30 years. A poet and wordsmith.
Jimmy is a good interviewer. Barnes and Finn need to put out an album
Wow...that's an amazing amazing version...that guitar is just almost playing itself...great to hear...

Barnes and finn are both fucking awesome
Fantastic. Barnesy compliments the vocal superbly
oh my word! that´s where I fell on my knees and started liking the song :-D the two of you can really smash it!
How could 43 people give this a "thumbs down"? This is terrific stuff guys!
43 non musicians, shit guitarists and crap singers 🤣
It was bang on, guitar wise, and vocally a great cover, well done to Neil and Jimmy ❤️
I think Ray Davies would be proud of this ❤️
its not. his voice is flat. he should stick to the enz stuff
Makes me want to sing like Neil and Jimmy! So Axl
One of the greatest songs ever written and i am approaching 71 but this one stands the test of time as it now has all come true ?
Wow! This is a great acoustic live cover of the Kinks "Lola" ! Their voices are great together! Please make more music together. It's not to late !Your voices are still so beautiful!

Neil Finn and Ray Davies...two of the greatest song writers. Excellent! Also cool to see the fathers of Liam and EJ playing together.
That 12 IS JUST HUMMIN' BEAUTIFULLY
Two legends together....this is great! We love you Neil❤
amaziing loved it Neil your fantastic and Jimmy you rock
Miss you so much Hessie! Even my children miss "Paul the Cook." Rest in peace beautiful!
He was such a character, it was sad he was suffering behind that personality so much, we all miss him RIP Paul Hester❤️
I liked this a lot! Thank you for uploading!
Jimmy's harmonies sound great to me, but I'm a massive fan of Neils and have never heard Jimmy before, so there's not much else to say :)
Keep up this AUSSIE stuff
I love a lot of bands, but The Kinks and Crowded House are right at the top! That was a brilliant version of Lola, Neil and Jimmy's voices worked well together.
Genius......tghanks for posting....and thanks to Jim and Neil
Was nice to hear both their individual voices naturally¬ a shared noise. Bravo Lads
awesome!
Wonderful! Fantastic.
from Holland@europe... wow been a fan of these guys since .... at least heaps of Years...
Damn. Theirs was as good a version of the song as the Kinks' original studio track ever was. Bang on!
i feel the same. Great stuff.
simply excellent
Tow icons of the music world here in Australia and across the Ditch.
Neil killing the guitar 🎸 and Jimmy with box🎤
2 of my Music hereos. I am glad the friendship and musicality has lasted all these years as they still play and sing together when touring in Aus or NZ.
A. I love how they appear to be in matching chocolate-brown uniforms
B Neil Finn is the ultimate stealth professional
C these two are good together
They have also been mates for decades, according to Jimmy's memoirs.
Unless it’s just extremely badly lit and they’re actually wearing black.
these guys know harmonies!!!
God bless Paul Hester still not forgotten 🌹😢😢😢❤️🧡💛💜💜💚💚💛🧡🧡💚💙💜💜🖤💜💙💚💚💛🧡🧡❤️❤️💘💋💋
So.....this is where Eliza and Liam get it from, it's a wonderfull thing for a fan to see the Dad's singing together, while being such a big fan of Liam and EJ.............beautiful, beautiful, beautiful music XX
Fricken magic!
Hold on a second - that's Neil, singing harmony above Jimmy in the middle eight. Never knew he had such a range.
"just makes ya wanna go put a frock on, doesn't it?" LMAO this is awesome, thanks nocturnalvagabond! love this one!!
how good...jimmy happy to play second fiddle to neil....what a great little interaction
amaziing loved it
love it.
what a gorgeous sound that 12 makes, well jell
exactly what I thought when I saw this!
Wow ... they could release that today as a single. That would have been with minimal rehearsal too...
Totally, Neil Finn nailed the guitar like Ray or Dave ever would 🎸❤️
yeah,, great version. Way to go, Barnsey!
I can't believe all my old rocker idols are going grey. :)
They look distinguished 😁😁
legends..................
First time Ive heard Barnes NOT just overpower the shit out of everything. He actually sounds really good backing like that.
Antifaith29 you should have seen him with cold chisel, had the highest range I’ve ever heard from a man, they are my fav band.
Like it!!
xxx
Awesome! Two legends.
Brilliant... Jimmy's Harmony's are Great.
MR Finn Mr Barnes simply wonderful gentlemen . xx
Unreal!
Neil my hero

Wow. I herd this song never knew the name..
..And I'm not even 22 lol
This is fucking epic.
Personally I like this! You've got two awesome vocalists in their own right combining in a not too serious attempt at Lola that isn't exactly the easiest tune to cover.
Wow. This is pretty good.
Hot 🔥 🔥 🔥 two ✌ scotts
enjoyed that - well done
How much are you loving melbourne these days?
I'm sure if Paul Hester was around he'd belt out Barneys shouting sound 'AY YAY YA YEAH'..lol
great combo
At 4:20 what are those extra knobs on that NS-10M?
Could be an eq for that tweeter pre tissue trend... Certainly an interesting tweak!
When Neil does the beginning he sounds like a continuity announcer, Ray sounds like he’s recounting a funny escapade to his best mate. That’s the difference
He's so gorgeous!
Barney's retained his Scottish accent after all these years in Oz.
Barnsey strikes an interesting harmony with Neil. He’s not just a screamer.
Is there anything Neil Finn doesn't nail/??
nah
Little known fact, his real name is Nail Finn
Yes, neat hair. But then again, he's a rock star...
...Neil Finn pisses genius...would love to hear him write with McCartney...
It would be like crossing the streams in ghostbuster.Only when you really must.!
Richie McQuillan Funny that. Paul McCartney has named Neil Finn the best song writer ever.
Paul McCartney already tried to make it happen, Neil Finn didn't want to
the thing I feel with "Sir" Paul is that he doesn't quite have the same level of humility as Neil... maybe that "world domination" which Crowded House only "nearly had", in fact assisted him/them in eluding that level of notoriety which The Beatles reached, and had to contend with... R.I.P. Paul Hester
Nice one..
Awesome job - hardly reheaersed - difficult song with strange chords - 12 string takes a lot of work to control - ok harmonies - lots of words - if you were in a pub with a fire going on a winter night you would beg these guys to sing that once more so just smile.

Tremendous.

Nice!!
Pretty good harmonies for a couple of old guys.
I thought that was going to be a train wreck, but it was really good.
damn that 12 string sound!! is that a Gretsch??
Nice!
delightfuldaffy I
Gosh, they should do more together - their voices complement each other's - due to so much experience on both sides, I guess.
Two of the best “Aussie” legends!
Nice try, Mr Troll
3:12
Gotta admit it took me a couple of listens to get to like this one. Jimmy seems a little lost - he obviously wants to get into his trademark vocal range, but Neil's voice keeps the song more low-key.
Wow
The point where they connect is Australia.
Wanna hear the song? 03:10
GREAT !!!
Alright, it works well.
i like their patty cake matching faces
Not a great fan of Barnsey music, too over driven... but I thought this little collaboration was brilliant!
Neil Finn is a rock god! He would have been better off doing this Jimmy free! It aint in Barnseys range at all
Grant Coppard maybe if it was 30 years ago.. but he’s getting old like we all do, give him a break.
Be subtle, its Neil Finn...g,day and fuck that then x
yayy
knew i chose a good name for SL lmao
Love Neil but this didn't work.
Barnes ruins this song...Finn Nails it
What a goofy thing to say??? what does 50??? have to do with how one sounds?!
Brilliant... until Barnes started singing.
Have to agree about Jimmy. I can't say I enjoy his voice, the grittiness of it clashes with Neil's and it's too overpowering.
Bronwyn Joy Hansen he’s getting older man! Give him a break, can’t stay young forever and voices deteriorate.
Shit song choice, expected better from Neil.
Must say, this is not a good one for Barnes. Doesn't seem to mesh well with Finn
Gerinse no one cares what you think
