He was a top man met him once in the Midland hotel Manchester before a match at old Trafford Leeds were unbeaten we were near the bottom but Don had time for me and some mates telling us about when he lived in our city when he played for the blues he spoke with affection about Sir Matt I was 19 and he left me wishing us well I really hoped he would succeed with England and like the rest was impressed by his fight against the terrible disease that killed him.
As an 11 year old I saw him play centre forward for Manchester City v Fulham. Bert Trautmann was in goal. Johnny Haynes, the first 100 pound a week footballer, played for Fulham.
Great ,great memories for a 63 year old who stood in the kop or the scratching shed for the whole of Don's reign. RIP-never forgotten-along with Billy, Johnny,Alan, Pauls,Eddie and the rest. Thanks for posting this.Takes my mind off our current troubles created initially by Risdale.
voiceofthenorthable leeds actually never fully recovered from what risdale did. it has been 15 years since Leeds last played in the top flight. even during the 80s wilderness Leeds remained just 8 years in the Second Division.
I think this is one of the worst diseases you can have! I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy! Fair play to him for his attitude towards it! I wish there was a cure for this horrendous illness!!
He talked about how they'd found a way to stop MND in it's tracks so wtf is it not being used now??? Ffs!!! 🤬 It makes me so angry that there's STILL no fcking cure!!
He was a genius. Forget the cheating allegations. They did not exist. He built a clever side, innovative, futuristic and hard. They were winners, and so was Don Revie. And this my friends is what the detractors cannot stomach. WIN, WIN, WIN, AND WIN AGAIN - AND AGAIN. Keep winning Don.
They did not need to cheat, the team were the best around in those days. Its all down to the F A and England job. They were corrupt and wanted yesmen.Thats why Clough never had a chance. Look at the way they treated Ramsey, and some of the present day managers. Thats why England will never win the world cup, The F A and the Prem league packed with non UK players. RIP Don, Shanks, Cloughy. Real managers
I wouldn't say he owned Clough at all. Clough won more trophies. But, I suspect that there was a personality clash between the two. Both excellent managers, both good communicators and on the whole, both winners.
Great man. Great dignity. Great manager.
🤣🤣🤣 He was as corrupt as they come.
I'm Sheff Wed fan and I think Don doesn't get the respect he deserves. One of the greatest English managers ever.

RIP Don Revie
A great manager.
Great player for Leicester.
I enjoyed that.
Revie on Countdown!
I think this is one of the worst diseases you can have! I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy!

My Uncle had it
Agreed. What I did not understand was how he believed the Americans could stop the MND. This is still false today. RIP Mam 21/11/2016.

@@roddyteague6246 I wonder if it was him trying to cling on to any glimmer of hope.

Great Comment
Forget the cheating allegations, they did not exist. He was a 100 per cent cheat, Fact.
dirty Leeds

u should add Bill Nic to that list.
Revie, Shanks, Stein and Ferguson, best managers ever. No big fat check books in those days.
Brain clough was the best of the lot.
Don't forget Sir Matt Busby..Man.Utd first English Team ro win the European Cup..in 1968, 10 years after Munich.
i want to see his reaction to clough winning back to back europeon trophies
I want to see Clough's reaction to Revie winning the FA cup
Revie owned Clough head to head. Clough only beat him once. His overall winning percentage as a manager was also far superior to that of Clough.
I wouldn't say he owned Clough at all. Clough won more trophies.

Buster Cherry his teams played dirty
You pathetic narrow minded Forest fan.

Dr in Euston or Houston?
he wasn't.
Done great club manager but international manager no.
He was a dirty cheating git
In all fairness when these allegations went to court the leeds players won their case and got damages.
Good manager but an outright crook...
He managed a team of cheaters who cheated their way to two titles.
Yawn...
