Tip for the sausage crescent roll recipe: instead of rolling & filling every single crescent, you can line the bottom of a baking dish with a tube of crescent rolls. Spread the sausage mixture over. Top with the second tube of crescents and bake. So much faster and easier!
I make ahead breakfast meals for my daughter, she's a teacher with two set of twins. I like to cook and this makes their mornings easier. I make french toast, egg burritos , egg and sausage mix in a cup cake size pan with half of a biscuit on the bottom, yum, and muffins. I like the idea of the mini egg bites and will definitely make the crescents.
When I do make ahead breakfasts, I usually make breakfast cookies -- I try to do lots of fiber and protein from oats and nuts and use maple syrup or honey for sweetness, but less refined sugar. Wrapped in individual servings, they keep great in the freezer! I'll definitely have to try some of these recipes. I admire how much energy you have to get so much done at one time!
I love watching your video playlists when I am doing my make-ahead and freezer meal prep days. Thank you so much. You are such a big inspiration. My kids are NOT big breakfast eaters but they take meds that make them not hungry at lunch time so I make their breakfast sandwiches ahead of time (complete with the fried eggs and cheese and meat all cooked together) then wrap them in re-usable parchment paper and put them in a food saver and pop them in the freezer. This way, I have enough sandwiches for each girl for the entire week and do not have to cook breakfasts but once a month. I learned this from you. Thank you
I can smell the breakfast/brunch foods while they're being cooked. Besides hash browns, pancakes and sausage pieces, I love scrambled eggs, bacon strips, toasted bread slices, fried apples and blueberry muffins. I sometimes squeeze grape jelly on my toasted bread slices. I love orange juice.
We do breakfast burritos for the husband, an egg casserole dish for myself and pancakes for the kids. But those egg and potato bowls looked great, as did the muffins. I think I'll have to give those a try! Thanks for the great ideas.
For the crescent bites, it’s super easy to roll crescent roll into a whole sheet. Or buy crescent sheet. Then spread filling on and roll up and slice into 1-2” pieces just like your making cinnamon rolls. Bake on cookie sheet until done. So good. We’ve made all variations this way. ❤️ A really good variation is jimmy dean hot sausage cooked, green and red peppers, onions, mushrooms all of them diced small and sautéed until tender. Mix everything with soft cream cheese and spread in crescent sheet. Roll n cut like cinnamon rolls. Bake on parchment lined cookie sheet until done. (I follow baking instructions on crescent package) great for a Christmas brunch or appetizer with the red n green pepper colors.
When I cook potatoes like this I cut them how you do and then put them in water and bring it to a boil and boil for about 2 mins. Then I drain wells and cook them like you did. I find they have less chance of being hard and it cooks faster and they get nice and crispy.
My family is so fussy and often times we have very different schedules that it makes so much sense for me to do this! WHY have I not done this lately?! The things my family loves are English muffin sandwiches (American cheese slice, bacon, and eggs), Muffins like yours, especially banana( I have a fantastic banana bread/muffin recipe that my family loves), pancakes/waffles, cut-up fruits like oranges, apples and pears. Oatmeal packets that are ready to go, just add water. So many ideas! Thank you Kimmy, that sure was a ton of work you did!🥰
It all looks yummy. I find that tongs work really good for dunking bread in the egg mixture when making French toast. It's easy then to gently shake off the extra egg mixture before frying.
Thank you very kindly for doing what you do. I wanted to write to you and tell you I made the depression era peanut butter bread this week. It was delightful!
Wow, how much more easier the mornings will be. Your such a hard working Mom, Wife. What a treat to be invited upstairs by Oma, for dinner, you have a great family. Happy Valentines Day to you and your family.👍💕
Kommt- o have not wanted to eat anything all day. After watching this all I want are scrambled eggs 😂♥️♥️ everything looks so good! You are blessing your family and motivating me to do the same 🍳
Love this! I love making broccoli leek quiche ahead of time or breakfast burritos, big batch of scrambled eggs, or breakfast casserole with eggs, sausage, cheese and potatoes. I try to do a breakfast option twice a week so I don’t have to cook so often!
i applaud all your efforts to make breakfast so delicious and convenient. We sometimes make extra and freeze the french toast. I dont know if you ever heard this, but i heard that you should just combine your muffins in the bowll and not overbeat them by using a mixer. it will keep the muffins tender.
Love this video! At our home, we usually prepare mostly the main meals and some kind of dessert/cake/muffins etc. at the beginning of the week and on Fridays for the weekend. This works pretty well for us. When I make make ahead breakfast it's usually something like overnight oats, apple cinnamon waffles or grilled veggies and cream cheese sandwiches (recipe from the Pioneer Woman - so delicious!).
These all look amazing. My sister fixes the susage one by rolling out rolls flat in pan and put other rolls on top and cuts in squares. I guess easy or lazy wSy. Lol. They are great. Ty for sharing.
Just started watching you maybe 4 or months ago. You are literally the first person I subscribed to :) not counting my husband, haha. But you really do motivate me. I have made the freezer French toast three times so far. My hubby eats them 4 pieces at a time so they go fast! And this morning I made a box of blueberry muffins but I added ground fall seed, applesauce and extra frozen blueberries to make them a little more nutrients. This is my first time commenting :)
Love the video and the breakfast ideas, definitely going to try the crescents bites. We love breakfast sandwiches and Mom-griddles (flapjack n sausage sandwich), little ones love french toast sticks. We may not be able to afford fast food but I can make my own replicas of them and so far its been a hit. Best wishes to everyone. Cuppa tea to you.☕
I make a veggie frittata ...cut it into the size yu want , wrap in wax paper, freeze , remove wax paper then vacuum seal it and put back into freezer. You can remove and heat in toaster oven or micro wave... or just microwave in the package(vent it like a frozen dinner) works great. You can vary the veggies , add meat and or cheese.
All the food looks amazing and I bet that it was all delicious. I miss cooking for a family our house we are empty nesters. Although sometimes I think I am cooking for an army but no just two. I am going to make some of the crescent rolls but will need to use sweetened shortcrust pastry as we don’t have the crescent rolls in our stores in Australia.
My kids are at a picky eating age and they all ask for different things for breakfast. I love the idea of making multiple types of breakfast to freeze and giving them the options they want without me going crazy haha 😆
I always add about 4 frozen blueberries on top of those muffins before I bake them. They turn out picture perfect and just that little bit of extra berry makes them super delicious. Let’s me use up a little frozen fruit as well.
Just a tip. If you want finer ground sausage or hamburger once you get so small try using a potato masher. Use the one that looks like zig zag. Works wonders!
Hey Kimmy! Everything looked delicious! Those potatoes looked amazing! I'm gonna try them this week. I love the look of them with the skins on. I always peel mine, but im gonna try them your way. I have thyme, but not tarragon. Can't wait to get it and try it. I hope you have a wonderful week!🥰
When you take the breakfast bowls out the freezer, how long would you heat them up in the microwave for? Thaw first or no? Love the video-just what I needed, thank you!
VERY nice. I haven't been eating breakfast as such, but there is no reason at all why these can't be for our smaller meal of the day. They would be very tasty.
I like to put my muffin batter in a large zip lock and cut the corner or pipping bag when doing bulk, it is awesome and so much faster then spooning it in!
You are so awesome sis thanks for all the wonderful ideas I've been watching for awhile but never commented lol God bless you and your beautiful family ❤️
Wow .ur amazing .every thing looked so lush .we dont teally eat breakfast .none of us have much appitite .but we.do eat breakfast stuff for .lunch and tea .somtimes .deffinatly going be making some of these
So do you freeze say day 3 on and take them out the night before . How well do things taste heated back up? Example, the breads ( crescents, French toast) and potatoes? I’m just trying to figure freshness, food safety is it all good just in the fridge a full 6 days? I’m usually 3-4 days then things aren’t good anymore ? Would love to do something like this just concerned on space and freshness and reheat ? Please advise, what’s the best way yo go about ? Thank you so much.
I LOVE this! Did I tell you, I LOVE this?😁 I am totally doing it today. I was planning on doing a breakfast caserole but, now I will do it in the mini muffin tins. Oh and yes, I can pantry cook some breakfast muffins. I am soooo excited. The potatoes! I love (doing my happy dance right now)

I second this, the way I always make it!!! Yummy!!

Don’t be afraid to try. Amateurs built the ark. Professionals built the Titanic.
Love that!

Your voice and videos are so comforting and soothing!
Thanks Brenda!

I love love love onions and green peppers in with my breakfast potatoes! So yummy

Your planner is terrific! My daughter loves it! It is so great when you have kids , with all the activities and such! She loves it!
A tip I learned years ago…use an ice cream scoop to measure out muffin and cupcakes. They’ll be even.
Kommt- o have not wanted to eat anything all day. After watching this all I want are scrambled eggs 😂♥️♥️ everything looks so good! You are blessing your family and motivating me to do the same 🍳
I bet the sausage mixture would be great in a puff pastry as well!! Gonna try!!
I bet it is! Yum!

How do you store your French toast and muffins?
You could always call the egg cup thingys, Quiche cups 😁
How do you heat up the French toast? Toaster?
We’ve done toaster
great video Kimmy as always the savory croissants look yummy. so do the muffins. xxx
I'm definitely trying the crescent recipe, I'm gonna try making them with just bacon also.
Everything looks delicious 😋 I’m definitely going to make those crescent rolls! 🥰
I love to squeeze pancake syrup on my pancakes, waffles and sometimes sausage patties.
Wrapping unused portion of onion in foil will keep it from smelling up your fridge! :D
