Astounding amount of thought and engineering into this project but I can't get over how much this thing must weigh when fully loaded. That has to be easily over 1200lbs of kit. That poor frame lol.
My thoughts too. I’d love to do all of that to mine, though I know the engine will suffer big time from all the extra weight. Maybe good reason to drop a V8 into it 😅
I don’t even know what some of this stuff is, but it’s there. That’s for sure. Only thing I want for my 2000 is a rear awning, a decent cooking setup, and rear tire mount. Everything else will have to wait. Awesome build. I mean, what else can be said.
IFS is for the golf course, SAS or go home. Maybe if you're doing that ridiculous high-speed desert / sand racing. But for rock crawling, solid axle swap is superior❤
Tell'em Grandpa! Those little whippersnappers with their high powered sand zoomers! It's just me and my solid axle till death do us part! Get off my porch with your Toyoder IFS gizmos you dang no-goodnick KIDS 🤬🤬🤬
I'm new to your channel and now apart of your nation. Beautiful builds I can't believe the man hours you have in your build and the build of your quests. I wish I had the time and the skill you gentleman have but what I am learning is priceless. I have an f150 that 🐌 I am building out. It's my daily drive now but over the next 3 years will only be my overlander. Just a quick note to interduces myself and my 2 sons that are working on their own builds as well. Thanks for your hard work and showing me what is capable. The Banks Family 👪
Thanks so much man! I work full time and have 4 kids, so I have to carve out time for what I'm passionate about. Wish there were more than 24 hours in a day!
You're welcome and welcome to the overland family. The platform with all electronics is only about 225 lbs. But yes overall with swing out, all the armor and fully loaded to camp,...ya, she's a heavy bitch, but I'll probably be barried
OMG that is one heck of a 4runner! You have a lot of great stuff that you did, truly custom. Hope mine is as great once I finish, awesome work! Love the video👍🏽
this is off the hook. you are definitely prepared if the world to come to an end. My only question is when it comes to recovery gear do you keep those in bags or do you have them stored in there somewhere ?; I also like the fact is so nice and open.
He has the recovery gear in a bag. We ended up using it a few months later after he slid into a water drainage ditch, as seen in the first few seconds of this video: ruclips.net/video/uLg6TeyKMVM/видео.html Thanks for commenting 🤙🏻
@@treehouseoffroad I can tell that it was a 20 minute draw on a napkin! All kidding aside probably the best platform set up I’ve ever seen in a 3rd gen that wasn’t some stupid expensive box from a company purpose built to make drawer systems. And even they cannot compete with his integration and fit and finish/modularity.
You are ready brother! Best build I’ve seen. Your eyes are wide open, I can see. I have a ‘99 T4R that I’m currently building. Cheers to Mad Max Thunderdome haha
The mpgs are the main reason I don't want to modify mine, I commute 100 miles every day and at 20 mpg with a manual still stings. Luckily these trucks are very capable off road even in stick form. But one day, once my factory bumpers fully rust out I will replace them with a aftermarket bumpers
Hows the LED light spread on the headlights with original housing? The reason i ask, I changed mine to LED with original housing. They look bright looking at them head on but i can barely see the lights on the road ahhaha
lol thanks yeah I had to cut out all the "um's" and "ah's". I've watched videos where they put "um" counters in the comments...this one would've won the award for sure. The jump cut is the lesser of two evils imo.
So once you go over 2” you have to do adjustments to the uca. I was thinking about doing 2” spacer lift on my sequoia should I be fine with just the spacers.
We are running stock UCA's on my wife's Sequoia and it's been fine, had no trouble getting it aligned. We replaced upper and lower ball joints, maybe that helped. We also have Daystar polyurethane bushings in the uppers
Now Duralast gold extreme. Factory Ball joints, torqued obviously; Spidertrax 1 1/4 in. Spacers. All about two years on now with no issues other than the shitty gas mileage I get. Lol
That 4Runner is setup better than my apartment.
Hilarious
Built it to camp way out. I.E. Mohave desert, death valley, etc.
😂😂
Interior is amazing. Just looking from it outside I would’ve never thought about all stuff in the inside.
Yup it's a very well thought out rig

Very heavy....861 springs and a daystar puck milled down to 3/4 in.
Is this man an engineer? Probably not because he made everything easy to work on and access. 27:24
@pokethumb4215 Brilliant comment!
As someone who has the same gen 4Runner, this is the exact video I needed to find all the little things I forgot about. Good Build.
Sickest build ive seen in a while
Now to convince the wife the end of days are coming and we need to build up our 4runner to bug out as needed.
Get right on that

Yeah he killed it
Probably the most functional build I’ve seen so far.
This is the greatest offroad, Apocalypse ready vehicle I've ever seen.. Definitely saving
Yup as long as there's gas in the apocalypse!
This is the most amazing thing I've ever seen, I would only dream to build my 3rd gen like this

This is absolutely the ultimate perfect 3rd gen build out there. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Just WOW what an amazing thought out and innovative design throughout the entire rig VERY impressive survival machine
This is without a doubt one of the best builds ive ever come across. Will be referencing this fellas build for my own Yota.
#LetsGoPlaces
That is the nicest slide out built box love how the inverters and water Heater setup is all hidden
Wow. 😢. What an awesome rig! You’ve literally thought of everything, and everything seems logical and well thought out. Great Job!
This is on of the best $runner I have seen. Great job!
I agree it's like if a Swiss Army Knife was a vehicle
I haven’t seen this kind of fab work outside of a boat. Great work.
This right here is soooooo beautiful, I’m soooooo jealous 😢
This has to be the most purpose built overlanding rig ive seen
Why am tearing up right now, I love this rig😢

Dang he put a lot of work into that 4runner, looks awesome!! How many miles does it have?
Unsure on that, over 200k though
Absolutely solid setup! Badass guys, got some new ideas thanks to you two
Wild build! So much thought into that interior. Impressive
I need those drawer plans he should sell them totally
do a Bi-LED projector retrofit for the headlights and that thing is perfect👌

Love the video👍🏽
All you need is a turret and you’re literally ready for a zombie apocalypse. And the turret would look great on that 4runner!!!
This build is absurdly intricate. Just wow🤙Sick 4runner
I know right my man is on point!
Couldn't have done it without the help of my ADHD and OCD...lol
I just bought a 23, however, third generation is by far the best
The rear side window mod is dope
These are awesome mods I need to do to my 97 limited and my 00 Limited I have the 2 inch body and mcm fab long travel setup on my rigs
I ran into Adam a few years ago, super cool dude!
Best build I've seen. Can you make a list?
He's a busy guy but I'll be happy to ask him

Wow this truck is great, nice work.
Them skids are awesome
I know this guy! Out of slo CA he once said my little stock 2wd sr5 is nice and it feels great
Yup that's him
Are we just gonna ignore the custom fire arm cut out!?!? Dude your rig is nice as shytttt
Can you post a link to his channel, if he has one? I feel like he has some incredible 3rd gen videos that I may need to see.

The interior is quite a unique and super well thought out.
Yeah he built the whole thing drunk one afternoon out of popsicle sticks and super glue

5 🌟 for this build. Amazing
Holy Sht what a 4runner whats your MPG with all this weight?
I remember him telling me it was comparable to my Sequoia with a V8
...and then this happened

Like me, you do all your own stunts (work on your own rig) Nice setup man!
That’s one sweet build
He's a talented dude for sure!
very cool hotwater setup. do he heat the entire 16g then or just heat water as he needs it?
As needed I believe
Omg would you build this box setup for others I would totally pay you to build me one of these custom boxes for my 3rd gen?
@treehouse offroad - amazing build! Do you mind sharing the build spec for the fridge tilt? Thanks in advance!
Don't hold your breath, the owner of the truck doesn't read these comments
Stunning 🎉
Killer setup!! Thanks for sharing!
does Adam have a YT CH? love his rig and setup
He does but it's all firearm related content. He's actually ruclips.net/channel/UCLXv1wKMGox0KZKN0TgaT8g
That’s 100,000 rig right here, awesome
Definitely some money in this rig, but mainly time....so much time
Man, I luv this setup. What's the mpg after all of this?
I don't remember the exact number but it's abysmal...almost the same as my 4.7 V8 with 35's
@@treehouseoffroad Um, okay...? So how much is that?
Love budget builds!
HELLO, I'M LOOKING FOR A CBI REAR BUMPER FOR 4RUNNER 3RD GEN, CAN YOU TELL ME WHERE TO BUY IT.
IT IS NOT LISTED ON THE CBI PAGE
thank you
Maybe they discontinued it I'm not sure....
Fantastic set up.
This build is amazing, but the one drawback to this unit is I'm certain it gets low double digit gas mileage. Still absolutely awesome though!
Yup sometimes you gotta pay to play 🤑.
Thanks for the comment man

Sadly he never posted it

I am late to the party, but do you have any idea how much the wood storage system weighs?
Never mind, I found the answer down in the comments. 225lbs
Damn, this is a beautiful set up. 👌
Can you please share the link to Adam’s snorkel video? Thanks
Turns out he never uploaded it sorry
this looks like fun!
He has a blast with it!
@@treehouseoffroad oh yes he does!! 😃
Nice work man!!
Definition of a SHTF vehicle this is a house on mud tires
I had to Google SHTF lol. Once I read the definition I completely agree.
Great build
How much does that thing weigh?! Also wonder what his mpg is like
10-15 mpg. Like most 4runners.
Weight: a lot
MPG: not a lot
Lol but for real I'll ask him and find out
@@treehouseoffroad bump ^
very nice. tnk u
sweet rig for sure!
Thanks I dig your channel my man
where can i get a bumper like this?

What fender flares are on your rig?
I'm pretty sure they're stock
Do you have a tranny cooler set up on your rig? If so details, hose routing and size of cooler hose etc.
No idea sorry

Which 30 gal gas tank did you use? Install vid?
Hi I'm not him but he has the stock fuel tank, it's the water tank that's 30 gallons

How much would this cost if you were to build this or buy it ?
No clue. Maybe Adam can chime in
I'd say 25- 30k if you did it all yourself no labor
