It seems to me that part of the how the hands are shaped and meet is to do with hand size. One thing I heard Joe Filisko say recently is that, if the "other" hand is not doing anything, always put it down because just having that hand higher puts tension in the shoulders and has a negative impact on breathing.
Assymetric. I am still seeking a way to cup and do efficient hand techniques in a symetrical fashion. My morpgology makes it that my right arm (cupping hand) is always more "inside", with the wrist bent. Creates an imbalence between the shoudlers, tension, neck issues and non optimal breathing. Adam Gussow's grip is symetrical, but both arms have to come a lot over the torso, compressing the upper rib cage and making the shoulders tense. I figure the harp mute is the only way to keep both arms equal and free to do hand effects. For me at least. I look at players of all levels and such an assymetry is visible everywhere. Should not be. This ain't violin. 😂
Hi Evan. What will not happen if you have a mic in your hand? There is a different set of hand techniques that can be applied for similar results while holding a bullet mic. Is that what you mean?
Thanks for everything Ronnie..
Great to see you Ronnie and learn from you. Best !!!
Some of the best value I've ever spent in my harmonica training has been on Ronnie's zoom classes. If you haven't tried one out yet, get on it!!
