I think this is the hardest technique to learn on the harmonica, yet the most professional sounding harmonica sound there is.
So is something I regret not learning 20 years ago, FML! 🤦🏻
What makes it hard also is that you can’t really learn it by messing around and having fun on the harmonica like you can a lot of other techniques
You have to commit to tremolo practicing to get it at all
Another way to do tremolo is to use your elbow as a pivot and pulling the harp out-in-out-in while keeping the lip-seal sealed. It's actually like using your forearm like it's a whammy bar on a guitar. Try it, it works quite well.
Might be the best video instruction on vibrato I’ve seen! Thanks
Thank u I was doing the backward coughing thing but I feel like the tremelo draw is where it's at 😎
love this lesson Tomlin, thanks. Have been struggling with getting that deeper vibrato and you explained it so well.
Excellent lesson. Thank you so much!
Great advice, and lesson.. Thanks so much, Tomlin...
This is my next step definitely where I need to go know thanks .
Thanks Tomlin, much appreciated.
Amazing breakdown, thanks so much
thanks Tomlin, you are the one of my best teachers.
perfect...you're right...adam gussow is the man! this lesson has been a great help too :)
An excellent step-by-step tutorial. Thanks a ton 💖
This was very helpful, thank you!
Great to see your subs over 110K 😎👍
All these little bits help! Thank you.
Tu explicación de hacer el tremolo y pasar al bending de semitono me ayudó mucho gracias Tom!
Really good video. Thanks for sharing.
Gee I can't seem to nail this vibrato. This vid has given me some new inspiration to try it again. Thanks Tomlin
Great, thanks Tomlin
Very helpful! Thank you :)
I have seen a lot of examples in internet about getting the vibrato tecnic, but with no doubt, yours is the best of all. Thank you so much.
Awww, thanks José Ramon
! :-)
Right on time. You do great work! And your vibrato sounds quite awesome.
I started trying to be serious about obtaining this skill a couple months ago. I have looked at the other guy guys instructions. Yours gave me some new insights and methods to practice. Sometimes when I feel like I'm getting it right, it seems things are moving from my throat to my diaphragm.
Don't want it to take 2 yrs! Never knew I'd need to do all these strange activities inside my mouth to play the harp.
Hi David - I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Learning any instrument is an iterative process and you will get to a stage where you are relatively happy with your vibrato. Then you can continue to refine it at your own pace. :-)
Thank you sooooo much for this helpful tutorial!
Very cool. Thanks.
Nice video
I have been trying for a long time to get the vibrato right
You have to practice a lot
greetings from Germany
Thanks!
Really helpful. Thanks!
That's good am enjoying it!
Best video on Vibrato
Good lesson on vibrato. Thanks
The more I learn, the more I realise how much I don’t know 🥺
That's how life is, but the fun is in the discovering :D
You’re not alone. Keep learning!
i know Im randomly asking but does anyone know of a way to get back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly lost the account password. I love any tips you can give me.
@Kenneth Kyle instablaster ;)
@Jericho Kayson Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
It’s important 4 me,thanks a lot,Gb
Solid vibrato dude!
That's exactly where I have the most trouble, with vibrato on a bend. Lee Sanky did an older video in which he also says he finds it difficult. I think he does a tongue vibrato on a bend, which I also started doing... but I do feel like I'm cheating ;-)
Dang. You said it could take years, and i almost couldn't belive it. So long! 🤯
But then...
I learned it on breat-out in 5 min, thanks to this video. Wtf 😳🤷♂️ Freaking cool!
Just kinda has to really self aware and like think with your throat, sorta 😅
Not so easy inhaling i think tho. But practice practice 💯
Thanks
patience....another thing to teach me patience...hahaha....thanks Tomlin
I feel like I picked up the blow vibrato instantly. I just need to learn how to hold it longer. When I tried the draw. I almost died from choking, not really, but I feel like thats going to take a LOT of time. Goals are fun!
Just started harmonica... seems like I can Tremolo, Vibrato and do some bends naturally, probably because i've always been whistling like ALOT ... still can't do a decent 2 draw regularly and I do struggle alot switching from one clean note to another... well ... to each it's challenges... ;-)
I've seen many great players doing sort of a jab vibrato but i am not so convinced that its good... Even though players as brendan powers does it all the time. Can you give a feedback on this? Thanks for all the material
How long should I practice vibrato?
talk a little bit about the chord sequence I, IV, V how many songs you can play with this sequence and other variations of this sequence. when the music is played in another harmonica position, such as 3rd, how the chord sequence is organized.
If you ever wanna show us some looper pedal stuff with harmonica and guitar, that's be cool, or how to play the 2 together
Yeah.. key words... "be patient".
Thanks for posting this video!!
Ok, I'm on the 2nd week with harmonica. Will go practice my "Taps" and check in here later
Do you mean that tremolo in it self is same as vibrato?
😎👍
anyone know which notes he was played?
I’ve been practicing for a few months, butI can only do the draw tremelo is really slowly. I know part of the answer is “patience”, but is there anything I can do to specifically speed it up?
Same
Can you tell me what and how R L Burnside plays that sound on his Harmonica. Song Its bad you know. Sounds like some kind of echo chamber?? I figured if anybody can you can.
I mean ... there was pitch changing going on with the tremolo as well ( think?). What do you mean there is no pitch changing? Am I not hearing things correctly?
Woah! Just one tip mate... Inward coughing...Then boom I got the gist of it... Thanks a lot :)
Tomlin, when Will will cover the rest of the holes from +4 to +6?
He covers those in the rest of his seminar over at tomlinharmonicaschool.com
@@TomlinHarmonica Hi Tomlin, before I use your school, I am stopped by the language barrier, I do not understand your advice. I used to use Tonny Eyers school but I had big problems. I had to translate from English to Polish and later from Polish to music. It was a tragedy. However, for a good price I would buy Willie's lesson on improvisation from +4 to +9. Greetings from Poland
Is that a RAEC watch strap?
Or am I just insane?
I didn't think it was going to be so time consuming
Still trying!
