Evan ran sound for us at this great little venue in Montclair. We hung out a bit, and he handed us a tape of Pinegrove. We loved it. They were scheduled to play with us at The Keys, but something happened.

That song is like divine intervention level songwriting to me. The desperation comes through so good in this version. It just flows so nice from part to part. Best from the set in my opinion!

While in jail I was reading the newspaper... a spot on south by southwest music fest in Austin tx. The author really intrigued me when they described these badasses here so when I got out I looked them up. Love their music

I keep RUclips open and listen to this in my car, at the gym, and everywhere. Literally my favorite live performance video of all time.
The energy from this performance just jumps right out of the screen. So touching
I don't know if it is possible to fully describe how phenomenal this performance is. All the nuances between the Evan and the band, between the band and the crowd, just all of it. And the pure musicianship. This feels like a spiritual experience every time I watch it.

Saw them in Edinburgh a few months ago and the crowd was loud then too. Guess this band has a fanbase that's incredibly in love with their music. Such a good live band

Rests come in handy for adding more emotion into a important part of the song they use it a lot he also does it in the alarmist. But he’s a master of song writing so he knows exactly where to put them and make the song ten times better

I was living in East Lansing in 1992-1994 and there was a decent scene back when live music thrived there. Old Friends reminds me of when the Verve Pipe would play "The Freshman." This crowd could be more juiced but just reminded me anyway....I really love seeing the kids get into music that's just fun. They will never forget this moment.

I went to see them in Phoenix over a year ago. It was an amazing show. It was a small venue and afterwards I bought their LP and I met Stephens. He talked to me and hugged me and ever signed my record. He’s such an awesome dude. It crazy to see how big they e gotten.
