Absolutely - Different people want different levels of painting - and this might be a good enough stopping point for some, but not others. In my case, I'll go back and do a few highlights, but probably won't fully paint them, mostly because I have probably about 2,000 miniatures that I still need to paint right now... and at a certain point I need to settle for "just ok".
Understand the humongous time effort needed to finish painting all of them with full detail. I still haven't completed even 10% of my own MD set as well. Myself, I also have more unpainted games/minis that I'd like to admit but still, seeing this was a horrific experience for me. I'd prefer to have army fully painted in "Plastic Grey" than this mess of 2 tone sprayed mob. Such fantastic sculpts deserve better treatment. To each their own and I understand the "just ok" motivation. The horror though... :P
Indeed. I was like THE HELL? Better off spraying them all one solid color and washing them. This was just awful. Of course this is quick and easy, you're just airbrushing 2 colors and not bothering with any details what so ever. These minis have zero defined details. Washes are a MUST.
Well done, thank you
I should have done this. I started painting it one by one. 12 months later, finished 200, still hundreds to go. :/
Did you ever subscribe to White Dwarf? What brand of paint do you usually use? Citadel/ Testor?
Citadel for my brush paints. Reaper for my airbrush.
This would be good for War of the Ring
Are they 28mm?
I could see this as a jumping off point before detailing them
Agreed. Makes them easier to look at and see detail on, but I would be hard-pressed not to go back and just paint them up.

I see you have the core set and looks like 3 hero & monster sets. Having not bought this game yet are all these miniatures from those boxes?
Those boxes, but ALSO the kickstarter exclusives, of which there are many.
Nice idea
