While working on our dancing Freddy from FNAF, we went deep down into the rabbit hole of indie horror games and discovered… Choo Choo Charles. He’s loosely based on a cursed Thomas the Tank Engine and his vacant expression still haunts our dreams. We had to bring him to life.
The base for our new toy makeover is a RC spider toy. We built Choo Choo Charles’ body with balsa wood, some recycled trash containers, and a handful of 3D printed parts. His face was sculpted with Apoxy sculpt and Sculpey and his legs were made with Foam Clay.
We hoped you enjoy watching our DIY Choo Choo Charles animatronic project. He’s definitely giving us evil Thomas the Tank Engine vibes. We love to make spooky DIY and Halloween projects all year long. If you want to see more, we have a bunch of animatronic makeovers, horror toy makeovers and DIY Halloween props and decor on our channel. Until next time, stay wicked!

We tried to make it as accurate to the game as we possibly could. How'd we do?
Good
YOU DID AMAZING ITS BEAUTIFUL! ❤
Awesome
Love your videos. Wish you'd record and upload them in 4k ultra HD though.
AMAZING
I actually love these smaller but more intricate builds - he turned out great!
Awesome thanks 😄😄
@@WickedMakersI HATE YOU
I think the legs looked off in motion as a tradeoff for them being posed when the model isn't moving. So it's a better statue, it just walks a little weird. Looks great :)
It might have looked better if the 2 front legs were posed and the rest were normal, that way it looks like he's about to attack someone.
Can’t wait for the creator of Choo Choo Charles to see this masterpiece
Yeah!!! Hope he does.
Oh Warren Charles! Oh wait, he's dead. His own creation murdered him.
@@christinewilliam37 I don't think he created him, he just discovered him
@@christinewilliam37 he’s talking about the creator of the game
He wont
I’m not a indie horror buff, but this video was pretty good! I hope that you could make something inspired by Coraline in the future!
Yes!!!
@@WickedMakers maybe the door she crawls through and the cat
Yeah👌
@@WickedMakers or the other mother when she’s transforming into a spider (¿) you can make her head protrude forwards. ORR she can raise her legs and extend forwards almost like the Pennywise animatronic from spirit Halloween does (newer version)👀 Make it real spicy n extra. That or when she’s revealing the buttons in the box she gives to coraline. Including the string and n33dle in the other hand would be cool too
Huge coraline, spirit Halloween, animatronic and horror fan btw fr
THIS LOOKED AWESOMEEE!!!! Yall found the perfect toy for Charles! The smoke and the legs were PERFECT! The faux welding was tricky, but maybe some puffy fabric paint could have worked as well. Overall, fantastic work as always ❤
Thank you!!
This looks awesome!!!😆🚂
I wish companies still made things of this quality & accuracy.
Same!!
me too
Yeah I wish Funko was like this
It’s so cool to see your process when you’re making wicked things. There are so many creative ways to use stuff you won’t normally think about!
Thanks yeah!! There definitely is

At first I was considering just ghosting through the channel, only watching one video or so, but I'm about five videos in and I can't help but stay. You guys do amazing work and are really inspiring. I've never been the sculpting kind of artist but this all makes me consider.
That’s great to hear. Thanks for sticking around! 🤘🏼😄
I've been subscribed to you guys since basically the beginning and its so cool to see how much your craft has improved. Seriously y'all are such an inspiration to me of what I want my relationship with my husband to be... halloween, family and crafting!
Thank you Emma! So happy to hear that.
@@WickedMakersYOU SUCK
Yeah! Like a minecraft crafting table. Plus minecraft has all the blocks you need
Absolutely incredible! I've been working on fixing an old Simon Sez ventriloquist doll recently and decided he needs a button controlled motor to turn his head to scare guests. Any info on beginners guides to basic animatronics/motors?
Nice!! There are some great channels for sure for learning that stuff. Will Cogley has some good stuff. Just search DIY animatronics
@@WickedMakers Thanks for the recommendation!
If you want the ultrasonic fog generator to last for more than a few runs, use distilled water. Minerals in tap or drinking water foul the tiny internal holes quickly and permanently.
Yes that’s a really good tip!
This was amazing! Great job guys! Btw for the “welds” you could have totally used a 3d pen. It’s very easy to make realistic looking welds with one!
Oh man yes!!! Great idea
Being a massive train nerd, you really hit me personally when you called the boiler "the tube."
You guys just keep getting more interesting and better than the last, but sometimes on a smaller scale and that's fine.
Glad to hear 😊😊
What a great build! Nice work guys!
Thanks! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Super cool and cute animatronic! I imagine that would be so fun to have running around a driveway at Halloween. I love watching your builds, they're so inspiring. :D
Hahah yes!!! Definitely going to drive it around outside.
this thing IS AWESOME! Also love your vids😊.
Thank you!!
@@WickedMakers no thank yall for making this awesome video!!!
i love watching Jamie work, her hands are so gentle snd shes so delicate with everything its very satisfying
In the wise words of Eugene:
THERE HE IS!
LIGHT HIM UP! LIGHT HIM UP!
CAREFUL DON’T LET THE GUN OVERHEAT!
HE’S NOT TAKING ENOUGH DAMAGE!
GET SOME HEADSHOTS!
(Amazing work btw!)
Great video! Do you guys think you will ever make more Halloween props from scratch, like the drinking skeleton or the giant spider?
Yeah, but not in May. 😄
Another great video buy the wicked makers themselves!!! You guys are amazing! And where did you get the spider?
Edit: hobby lobby has cheap and very nice foam clay!
I think we amazoned the spider!
I love how it went from a kids spider toy to a TERRIFYING SPIDER THAT LIVES ON A ISLAND AND KILLS PEOPLE
This one was complex, and I love how it turned out. The legs are amazing!!
you guys absolutely killed it! I love how even though you guys had so many trial and errors you still pushed through the end! as an artist myself that inspires me
no 👎
Hello from the Distortions crew Wicked Makers! Great idea for a video and project!
Thanks y’all! 🤘🏼😄
This is the stuff of nightmares (in the best way possible)!
hi, It's this Create Choo Choo Charles Masterpiece 😊👍
I saw thomas Right behind you.😮😮
Your Wicked Creations are amazing and detailed!
Thank you!!
The painting brings it to life! Looks insane good!
Don't get Cho Choo Charles to the child
Boy, you were all in from the first minute! This was so much fun to watch and it's truly great seeing the details come together!
Sometimes think you should show both the 3D printed stuff and alternative possibilities, because I promise you, a lot of us don't have 3D printers! 😂
Also, given the skill sets you are amassing, Halloween is going to be FANTASTIC this year! (Thanksgiving? Christmas? Everything can go spooky, y'know!
I sorta call that time of year MerryHallowThankMas
😂
Great video, thank you so much!
I know only thing i don't like about them is how much more 3-d printing is used these days.
YOU GUYS NAILED IT This Was The Best Choo Choo Charles I’ve ever seen Want To Here A Joke?… Waht Do U Call A Train That Goes Fast A CHOOOO CHOOOO TRAIN 🚂
I’m hoping your able to make more animatronic indie game videos because it might be just me but I love these type of videos
🚂+🕷= Choo Choo Charles.
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
That looks so good you do great animatronic makeovers
Thanks 😄😄
Regardless of the movement on the legs the build was and is a total success. Looks awesome just sitting there and the sculpt of the legs provides the just moved or about to look. As usual WELL DONE!!
I hate spiders but this was amazing to watch come together! You two are so talented!
🖤🧡🖤🧡
this is even more awesome than the dancing W. Freddy
🤘🏼😄😄😄
This is creepily accurate!!!
Awesome job!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
This might be too hard of a challenge, but I think a huggy wuggy version of any tall spirit Halloween animitronic would be really cool. I think crouchy would fit perfect for huggy wuggy!
This is a killer idea. Thanks!
@@WickedMakers 👍
Never even heard of this game but I love what you made. It turned out so good.
My friend needs to know where Jaimie got that witch/moon shirt, please?
Amazing video as always! The original creator would be so proud to know how many different makers are paying homage to his nightmare fuel lol
Love y'all!
We made it 😊 we were curious to see if anyone would notice and be interested. Might do some merch.
@@WickedMakers You've definitely piqued our interest!
I love the catnap animatronic and dogday and huggywuggy and this one
Imagine they make a life size Version☠️💀
You did really good I’m proud of you wicked makers 😃
Anyone else want to see them make a Cursed spider Thomas the tank engine?
I live very rural (neighbors are all miles apart) and the only way to celebrate Halloween, as a community, is gathering for trunk-or-treats. I've incorporated some of your project ideas into decorating our truck and done very well in the decorating contests each year, but I'm not very creative and I feel we could do so much better with a little inspiration. It'd be cool to see what the two of you come up with if you were to do a trunk-or-treat (full setup). Love the videos and watching you two, sweet as can be.
This is a great idea! We’ve been thinking about doing it
My son loved Thomas the Train when he was little. He would be so traumatized if he saw his Train transformed into that!! I Love it!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
Really loving these toy "makeovers" would an awesome series to continue
Thank u for everything
I LOVE IT! It looks just like the game! Y'all the best! Thanks!
I love that you share the trial and error of making your projects! It's so informative!
Beautiful work as always guys!
So awesome!
Awesome as always guys!!! Stay wicked! 🤘🏼
You have a daughter awwww that's sooo cute at least i think 🤔
Thank you for showing a not perfect project. I really means a lot. I get very frustrated when I can not solve the problem of my project. It is good to see others in the same mine car.
Yep it happens to everyone!
This is a neat project.
Balsawood is great but sometimes too fragile. Basswood is also light but a bit more durable. There are areas where both could be used in this project. The roof or any part that needs to be "bent" is great for balsawood but the main box screams basswood to me.
A friend uses Sculpy to make dragons eggs that she sells at conventions or to friends.
Cant wait you guys to make a real fnaf 1 Freddy Animatronic
Actually laughed out loud to "i'm a vampire lord!"
Guess I have to download this game and give it all my money....
Great video!
Hahah thanks man. Just my everyday normal casual attire, you know
You guys are simply amazing!! There is such detail and care that goes into your work. It's just incredible.
It’s is awesom! Fun fact: the bigger part of the boiler is called a saddle tank 🙂
COOL !
🤘🏼😄
You guys did an awesome job as always! Amazing detail!
do you ever look back on old projects and think of things you would change or do differently?
Wow Choo Choo Charles looks fantastic / amazing 👏👏👏🖤💀🎈thank you so much for sharing
Thank you!!!
He is so cool he looks just like in the game and can you make a bendy the ink demon out of a toy as well ? Well I’m ready for you respond ,stay Wicked🤘
So tempted to make one myself! Another project to throw onto the pile.
Maybe for another train related thing, Thomas the Heresy Train?
This was an awesome build! Keep up the great work guys!
Hey, what if you would build things from Addams Family. I know you did Wednesday and Thing, but you did them because of wednesday and not the addams family moovies or series. (Example: the dangerous plant, that tends to eat people or at least meat; the painting of fester addams in the first moovie, with the candle in his hands)
Imagine if they made it size accurate and it actually moves faster than the regular car. Imagine driving at night and suddenly getting by a giant demon spider train
It’s horrifying…ly cool! Love it
I miss the spooky Halloween stuff so you guys are perfect for me!
Me and my brother's and my cousin are going to be wicked maker's
Absolutely cool
Nicely done on choo choo Charles.
Thanks!!
@@WickedMakers Yw! :)
that is so good please keep doinhg it
Those ultrasonic foggers die in a matter of hours. They're cheaply made and vibrate themselves to death. I've never had one survive for longer than a week of constant use.
Can you make the projectionist from BATIM/Bendy and the ink machine next?
Now do a mega Charles variant. You know when he gets all buff for the final battle.
Sup good video and can you make another fnaf animatronic please
Yes please
Yep!
@@WickedMakers wait really
Awesome like always
The ultrasonic mesh fogger is actually the same mechanism as in new generation pocket asthma nebulizers!
I have one in my purse right now!
Video idea you can make a life-size Freddy Fazbear animatronic i think it would be really cool!!!
I'm pretty sure the wheels don't touch the ground or he couldn't walk around the island and would be stuck on the track so I didn't think you should've worried about them touching the ground that made a little more work for you, but good job it's pretty awesome.
Your creations are so cool wicked makers cant wait for the next cool creation
Thank you!!
hello! ive seen your remaking props series and discovered a new spirit halloween prop you might be interested in checking out! its called the Killer Klowns Cotton Candy Cocoon (wooh tounge twister!)
U guys are amazing at making these creative stuff don't know how u do it its so amazing u just just tern something it to a spectacular creation keep it up u gu😄😄❤❤
This is some next level Eight Legged Freaks stuff
It looks choo-tastic!
( and yes I just made that up!) I like it!
Interesting and cool vid. The baby spider living in the roof of the train; that’s interesting and cool.
Can you guys make a more realistic chucky doll please!!!
a tip for foam clay, if you find it starting to dry out and getting tough mix a little water with it and kneed it, also if you get white foam clay you can use markers to color it! keep up the amazing work!
He looks so perfect it looks like from the game like you took choo choo charles from the game to real life
This is so cool! I absolutely loved playing through choo chop Charles, and this looks just like the game!
This is amazing. Looks exactly like the game just a bit uncanny
For the mist you should use it for a catnap
Using the mini fogger and attaching it to a laser pointer could make a good light saber
