Thanks for covering this in a way that doesn’t make me look like a complete idiot I really appreciate that!! It is true that I didn’t overreact (at least considering my emotions at the time). I’ve always been a rather expressive kid when it comes to my emotions and I was placed in a situation in which I was under the most pressure to beat it that day, therefore I had the biggest reaction when I did. The current update of the game, 2.1, was having an awards show THAT day and I told myself I wanted the level out before then. I knew the date of the 2.1 awards was December 14th a month prior, but as the days kept moving I still couldn’t beat it leading up to the 14th. I started to panic a bit as I really wanted Kenos out before the 2.1 awards, as I didn’t know what would happen after (2.2 could have come out, which could have completely changed the landscape of the game, I didn’t want to risk it). I died at 70 or past 70 a grand total of 131 times over the course of the 8 months I played, so I was worried, on the day I beat kenos, when I couldn’t even get to 70 for an hour and a half. I REALLY started to panic then, the awards were in a few hours, I wasn’t doing very well, I thought I was COMPLETELY screwed. I’m known not to be a lucky guy when it comes to GD but for once I think I really did get lucky, as I got to 70 for the first time 2 hours in and beat the whole level. All the pressure I was feeling, from the community, from myself, from all the time that I put in bubbled to the surface all at once and before I could do anything about it I was in tears. So for me it wasn’t an overreaction :) oh and by the way, for the comments saying I have no life, streaming IS a valid hobby and it’s helping me pay for college. I’ll be just fine. Me with Acu. At this point I don't even know if the level is not really good, or if dying 40000 times in a spam of 1 month and a half is enough to make any level a torture and a man crazy
For a bit more info: The level he was playing (called Kenos) is as of right now, the third hardest level in the game. It took Npesta 135,000+ attempts over the course of 117 streams that are all roughly ~2 hours. Most streams would be spent dying in the first 30% with only getting past the extremely difficult beginning part a few times each stream, which is why he has to focus very intensely when he gets far in the level. The reason he was so dedicated to the level is because he is known as the "verifier", which is someone who beats a level first to verify that the level is possible so that it can be uploaded to the Geometry Dash servers. The people who create levels choose players to verify levels, and with a level like Kenos, which is easily one of the hardest possible things to do/beat in any video game ever, the creating team chose Npesta since he is a top player who is known for being determined and wont give up. This reaction is actually completely genuine, and there are many more like this, some classics being Riot beating Bloodbath, Mefewe dying to 98% on Sonic Wave, and just the entirety of a player named Cold playing a level called Rupture. This game has a lot of meme potential in it's over the top reactions the players have to spending countless days, weeks, or even months just trying to beat one single level. Hope this informed some more people :)
thing is, most the good parts of the community are majorly overshadowed by the obnoxiousness and repetitivity of the fanbase. goddamn it all the featured levels are the EXACT SAME and honestly that's something i absolutely cannot stand. i've been thinking of re-beating deadlocked as a final goodbye to the game ngl (i'm not that good of a player)
@@zidanidane no, they are not. Didn't heard anyone talking more about some random level in the feature tab rather than any good level that managed to get attention. It's actually the opposite.
The parents however need to understand that completing extreme demon levels is so hard that it's more of like a sport rather than a video game. Just like how a parent wouldn't frown at their child being a sportsman, they should also not frown at someone who is good at video games of this insanely difficult, superhuman-difficult levels.
it may seem bizarre, but this video got me into geometry dash. one day i randomly saw a meme about npesta and wondered where it originally came from so i searched it up and i found this video. watching this made me more interested in the game so i decided to download it on my laptop. i played it on and off over the years on my phone but just as a casual player who got bored after defeating polargeist (the third easiest level) and then deleted it, but this time i was actually interested in playing this game and seeing what it was all about. beating main levels one after another only piqued my interest exponentially, and it was only a matter of time before i kept watching gd videos on youtube, getting to know about the community and history of the game, and my skills became SO much better than i could've ever imagined. i just could not get bored of this game and the welcoming community just made me not only stick around, but become involved. so i thank this video, i could've never imagined how gd would play such a big part in my life unexpectedly, and i urge everyone who reads this to play it at least once so you can feel the magic i felt. also, perfect timing of me getting into gd just a couple months before 2.2 came out. 2.2 is insane!
I think one of the reasons GD is a underappreciated game is because most new players download the lite version, with just 13 levels to play. Most people think: yeah bad decorations, just the same, fuck insane levels too hard, in the trash can you go. But the paid and full game of the version is sooooo much more worth it than people think. You have the editor, where you can make so much crazy stuff, examples of this is "The Eschaton" or "Ultra Violence" which doesnt look like geometry dash at all. Even if you dont play the game, search these levels up and you will see what this game has to offer. Just give the game another shot, and i hoped this informed some people :) yeah im not going to mention the game updates because thats... yeah
No, I don't play Geometry Dash. I love the memes about his reaction but I truly respect Npesta for his dedication, the reaction was funny but the story behind it is amazing.
@@aeroslothy Shrink your lifespan? What do you mean? If I didn't found this game, I probably wouldn't have found meaning in my life I know this sounds weird, but that basically gave me motivation to live And look at Npesta and other GD streamers, it's not like their life is ruined or anything
I've always said that it literally doesn't matter how 'easy' a game is, people will always push it to its absolute limits. This is why I think it's stupid to hate on games like "X game is better than Y game because Y game is easy". If a game is easy, people will just push it even further. Thus I have immense respect for people who play any game at the highest level.
@@The_Soviet_Onion How does this only apply to games with level editors? I was referring to all games, and sports as well. Take darts, for instance. Ostensibly it's much easier to play darts than it is to play a more complicated game, like cricket, however that just means that professional darts players compete at a much finer margin of error than professional cricket players. Yes, one game is technically easier, but both are pushed to their limits by the players, and competition at the highest level is equally fierce.

@@ForsakenDreamer7 bruh I know most of those games and somehow I didn't think of them. I was gonna say the world hardest game but I decided not to for some reason.
Just to put the difficulty of Kenos into perspective: the entire current Geometry Dash top 10 (the 10 hardest levels beaten legitimately with a star rating) is extremely close together in difficulty, and beating Tartarus (the #1 spot at the time of writing this) is genuinely one of the hardest feats in gaming, being about as hard as the Super Mario Bros WR speedrun. It takes tens, if not, hundreds of thousands of attempts and hundreds, if not, thousands of hours of grinding to accomplish. The sheer difficulty of the levels in the GD top 10 is almost impossible to comprehend in a good way, but think of it like this: imagine looking at your favorite game, and thinking about every near-impossible thing that you can do in that game, and then put 100 of those in a row and beat it, thats a top 10 in Geometry Dash. Sorry for the long message, have a nice day
Honestly I’m grateful for his expression because I’ve been playing gd for a long while now and npesta reaction really just shows how hard the game can be and how determined people are to this game. Like you said this took 100,000+ attempts and 8 months and I pretty sure 117 streams (might be wrong) but somewhat around there. Instead of getting fam he became a meme and people made fun of his reactions not know how he didn’t fake his reaction. Love you npesta, your a very important person in my life. @@arieson7715 geometry dash is *incredibly* addictive. once you get into the game it becomes almost impossible to completely quit. and if you beat a level *this* hard (the 3rd hardest in the entire game) in which hasn't been completed by more than 10 people in the entire world i don't think it would be easy to leave the game. also he beat the thing in 135k+ attempts, do you think he would quit after that much? i don't think so
@@arieson7715 he's a streamer that gets paid a lot through donations, I don't think he could be doing anything better in his life, he's doing what he loves to do and being paid for it
As a fan of the game, this reaction is 100% warranted. People spend years, I kid you not y e a r s trying to beat these levels. The amount of skill it takes to beat levels like these make you marvel at the capability of the human species.
thanks for making it seem like it wasn’t a overreaction (it wasn’t) because geometry dash players do understand how hard the game is sometimes, people can spend months on 1 level, as proven here
me *breathes* DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT HE DID Everyone who doesn't get how hard kenos is: he beat another dum level GD players: YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE POWER KENOS HOLDS, YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW IT IS LIKE, SO GO! BEAT THE LEVEL. YOU WILL KNOW.
i, as a player of gd myself, understand this reaction as well as other huge reactions like diamonds verification of sakupen circles. like imagine pouring hundreds of hours into a level and finally beating it.
For non GD players: A different reason why people mock npesta for his reaction is because Geometry Dash is a truly underappreciated game. If you played it for a few days or weeks and rage quit (or just saw the Lite version or one of its extensions), you will never fully appreciate the game, as it has much more to offer than most people think. Geometry Dash has a level editor with endless possibilities. With enough experience you can make anything you want, any gameplay, any design or decoration so it looks super cool, and you can even program minigames! Yes, you read it right. GD is slowly evolving into a game engine. Some levels, like Kenos, even require godlike skill to complete. And you can share your levels with the entire world! No wonder why GD has got a community at all. Beating a level like Kenos takes so much effort, which people also ignore. Imagine spending 8 MONTHS to beat a single 2 minute map. If that isn't enough, you have to practice for YEARS to reach the required skill level. Beating harder and harder stuff will satisfy you every time, because GD teaches determination and perseverance really well. You can develop multiple types of skill, from sightreading to consistency to perfect muscle memory. Also, it took 13 people and 2 YEARS to build the level itself. You'd have to precisely put and arrange 1000-1000000 distinct objects (most of them are only for the decoration) for them to form something visually appealing and fun to play. Hope some people will learn something from this. When people say "Why is npesta crying of joy? It's just a square game!", I'm literally losing braincells. GD is way more complex than you think. If it's not your genre of video games, that's ok. Just be cool and don't call Geometry Dash only a square game :) EDIT: 5k likes thanks a lot...

I’m not even gonna lie, this reaction was what brought me to npesta, which brought me back to GD after 1.5 years. he spent 8 months to complete one of the hardest things videogames has ever seen, and I respect npesta for sticking through all the roughness of Kenos and pulling through. Monumental achievement.
"ThiS lEvEL cAn'T bE ThAt DiFFicuLT" It's been a year. And the level is still in the top *_4_* for hardest (possible / rated, since the replies wanna cry at me) levels in the entire game. Out of hundreds of thousands.. if not millions... If anything, Npesta underreacted. Edit: It's been ten months, it's #11 now. I don't care enough to keep coming back just to update a number.
This was actually really accurate compared to most videos explaining Npestas reaction at the time, I can tell that there was time put in to gather information about a game that you previously didn't know much or anything about just so you could bring people proper information on this subject. Overall great job with this video, continue what you're doing as long as you're happy with it and always enjoy the work that you do, and know that it will bring happiness to others in times that they need it most.
I'm apart of the Geometry dash community and honestly seeing a RUclipsr that has nothing to do with gd cover a topic that started in gd warms my heart. thanks for this LiMC ❤️
I can back the fact that Geometry Dash really brings out the most in reactions for most people. I’ve beat a couple levels pretty close to Kenos difficulty (Kenos is #3 and I’ve beaten #10 and #16) and I flipped out. Especially when I beat #16 since at the time it was #1 lol.
The problem is that people don’t actually realize how hard Kenos is. Edit: Jesus Christ can people stop replying to this Edit 2: This is an irrelevant comment Edit 3: Bread
for non gd players kenos is the 14th(?) hardest level the hardest levels tske frame perfect jumps (basically you have to click and the exact point sometimes to the millesecond to make a jump) and thats only for one small part, these levels usually take months to do some years some still have not been beaten and this is the 14th hardest, if you think hes over reacting try it for yourself, try kenos, hell, even try to 1 attempt stereo madness, the easiest level in the game (other than custom levels) if you cant beat deadlocked the first attempt (pretty easy demon) then dont even try to comment on npesta "overreacting" (15th hardest level)
kenos is 12th hardest now i think, also most of kenos wave features 2-8 frame windows, still insanely difficult but not as ridiculous as a frame perfect
Im yet to finish fingerdash but i finished my first EASY demon. I don't even want to participate on that high of a GD league yet. Im only on 9% of deadlocked after soo many attempts.
If I had to choose between beating that in under 24 hours or dying, you'll see me chillin in my grave, not to mention I play the game on a near daily basis
I'd honestly recommend npesta to anyone interested in watching streamers! Even if you aren't interested in his game, he's a really funny guy and very smart.
True gamers know this wasnt an overreaction at all Edit : Why is this comment getting traction all of a sudden , its been 3 months since I commented , RUclips algorithm is weird ....
just seeing the 982 attempts at the endscreen made me understand why he was so emotional. he sat there and pressed one button 10129 times. for only one level. this is so heartwarming to see people doing things like that.
To the comments saying he overreacted, keep in mind what the narrator said. 8 straight months trying to verify this level. You can't upload a level to the servers until you verify it. Over 135,000 attempts. Which, that's not an exaggeration. The game will count every single attempt and show you how many total attempts you have on a level.
"To a casual observer, it would appear the game is almost playing itself." This is not an exaggeration. I showed him completing Kenos to a friend and he said "Wait, he's actually playing?"
When I first saw someone playing deadlocked I didn't realize that touching the walls in the wave section would kill you lol. I thought the wave just slid across them (like with the new D blocks). So you can see how difficult it is to grasp how hard a level like that is without some experience in the game.
@@koloss8656 The D blocks are invisible blocks that can be placed on top of other objects. They prevent the wave from dying on contact with objects, instead allowing it to slide along them. Also they're not really that new considering 2.1 came out FIVE years ago. They just feel new to me as I haven't played in ages.
Nice, finally a meme that I know the backstory of. And also there are so many geometry dash streamers that are also as authentic as him, but this reaction is just the craziest one so it stood out from the others

Pain, regret, pressure and hate, but in the end are the good things that you get once you push through fear. Love that guy and his reaction was really worth watching!
Imagine verifying it for so long and someone moves an object by 1 pixel I kid you not, moving a slight object in a level counts the 'Verified' level to an 'Unverified'
- 135k+ attempts - 110+ hours of stream, most of which are 2 hours - 131 70%+ deaths - serious pressure - *becomes a meme for the reaction itself* cool
Really good video, there truly is a lot more to this reaction than an outsider from the GD community may think, and you covered it very well. GD has gone really far as a game, it's fascinating. Really hard and challenging levels are way more than just levels that take time, they affect players emotionally for the better or the worse, and I personally feel like I've grown a lot from playing extreme levels as well. They teach you perseverance, how to handle stress and emotions, and how rewarding hard work can be, the fact that a game can do all of this is fascinating.
I think even this video doesn't stretch enough that he played this exact level for 8 MONTHS on end, and that he has attempted to beat the level over 135000 times, this is not your ordinary videogamer. This guy put his EVERYTHING into this one moment, he worked for 8 months straight to beat it. This is way beyond dedication

To you people who think he is over-reacting, imagine being in the Olympics and losing 135k times then finally winning. Would you be happy as hell?
Well yes, if the Olympics was 100x harder and it was not that bad to lose most of the time.
i mean Geometry Dash attempts don’t compare to participating in the olympics but still impressive
That would be a lot of times to participate in the Olympics lol

it may seem bizarre, but this video got me into geometry dash. one day i randomly saw a meme about npesta and wondered where it originally came from so i searched it up and i found this video. watching this made me more interested in the game so i decided to download it on my laptop. i played it on and off over the years on my phone but just as a casual player who got bored after defeating polargeist (the third easiest level) and then deleted it, but this time i was actually interested in playing this game and seeing what it was all about. beating main levels one after another only piqued my interest exponentially, and it was only a matter of time before i kept watching gd videos on youtube, getting to know about the community and history of the game, and my skills became SO much better than i could've ever imagined. i just could not get bored of this game and the welcoming community just made me not only stick around, but become involved. so i thank this video, i could've never imagined how gd would play such a big part in my life unexpectedly, and i urge everyone who reads this to play it at least once so you can feel the magic i felt.

Yep. The new Pokemon games are very easy but that inspired people to make challenge runs.
True, but this only applies to games with custom level editors.

This was the first video i watched from this channel thank you and that was cool.
i, as a player of gd myself, understand this reaction as well as other huge reactions like diamonds verification of sakupen circles. like imagine pouring hundreds of hours into a level and finally beating it.
For non GD players:
A different reason why people mock npesta for his reaction is because Geometry Dash is a truly underappreciated game.
Just be cool and don't call Geometry Dash only a square game :)

I know. What a fucking legend!

@@venomouscosmo3297 yo, what the f? Do you mean attempts?
For those who haven’t played GD
I’ve played for 5 years and haven’t beaten anything close to that
same
true
I've played this game for 5 months and have beaten 3 Demons already. It takes a lot of time to pull it off and honestly it makes sense that you haven't done anything close to kenos in the 5 years that you've played
Edit: i now have 4 Demons
I am generally playing Lite since 2017 (2.0) and the full since last year still not even 5 demons so it's actually insane what he did
Bro sameeeeeee I have played the game since the middle of 2019 and my hardest is only a insane demon lol
this is also even more impressive because he has some kind of eye condition that makes it hard to play
an astigmatism
Geometry dash is a game that can be so challenging at a point where every attempt you do seems like its going to fail but then when you actually do it you cant believe what you have just accomplished. My friend when he beat Acu screamed and sounded like Mangle from Fnaf 2 and it was obvious that he was really relieved. Also that was after 2 months of playing the level that he finally beat it.
