Actually, YandereDev bans have a bit of an extended history, because YandereDev silences all criticism or backlash to maintain a pristine image, during twitch streams, any off conversation or questions about the game that could be perceived as negative will get you permabanned on their twitch.
Speedruns of YandereDev twitch bans existed about the same time as the original discord ban, early 2018, but were a lot more commonplace. The meme basically just revived.

The game itself (or the premise) its not that bad. But having a braindead dev who thinks is superior and its a mean dogshit to even his fans don't make it any good.

From what I've heard, the discord devolved so much that, in order to say anything there anymore, you have to donate money. This is such a blow to speedrunners, but can also open up the possibility of a Money% speedrun.
They still can do a name% speedrun but since the record is 0.03 secs i guess no one would ever beat this

I know this isnt a video about yandev himself, but I still feel like the actual reasons for the hatred should have been highlighted more properly.
A few years ago (when I actually cared about the game beyond the speedruns/memes), I eventually saw this video (and a few others) which made me realize that I could not justify supporting yandev any longer: ruclips.net/video/YY-aqqCFjnc/видео.html .
Things not mentioned in this video include stealing assets (for multiple years) which I find pretty important to note.
This is not just about people being pissed from a game dev just being lazy (and maybe leeching from his patrons).

I think he's just a scammer. He didn't wanted any help, because he doesn't want the game to be finished so that their followers keep supporting him and the project, that way he gets money for doing absolutely nothing.

What I've learned: YandereDev is a developer of a game called YandereSimulator, the game is STILL in development because YandereDev is lazy, YandereDev is emotionally unstable because he doesn't like how he looks, he bans people that poke fun at his looks, he has a LONG history of banning ANY criticism towards his game.
In conclusion: he's a lazy jerk that gets butt hurt when somebody pokes fun at him, a failure of a man.
I love how someone who has no knowledge of YandereDev can watch an unbiased look at the memes around him and conclude he’s a man-child.
It almost restores my faith in humanity.

Sometime a Non-game is Better than the game itself.
Its kind of depressing how many games get released early in a beta state and just dont get finished for years, then get hate for not being finished quick enough. The idea of getting support while you develop a game is great in concept, but in execution it ends up killing the whole project if not dealt with properly. You're better off leaving the project unannounced.
I would like to mention that as of February 4th (the same day my friend tried to speedrun), YandereDev has made the server inaccessible to anyone except his twitch subs due to the massive amount of people raiding the server, so no more speedruns anytime soon :(

The sheer amount of hatred that some people on the internet have for yandaredev is... worrisome.
The thing I've learned about humans is that we can spend a lot of time hating on something or someone just so we can feel smart and "in the right". Even if the thing we hate is objectively bad, obessing over it, is unhealthy.
Based on my experience, it's less out of hatred and more out of pettiness.

A roblox discord server i was in actually offered a reward in robux to the top 10 people with the fastest times to get banned from his server. after it was over and i collected my prize, I hopped on an alt and spammed every high rank's DM's for 30 minutes straight. certainly my proudest grief.

Not gonna lie, this man deserves all the hate he gets. He's not hated because he's taking a long time, or because his code sucks and the game runs at 7FPS (which are both true), he's hated because he seems to hate everyone else, and reacts extremely aggressively toward small things. Npesta was fine after one of his biggest achievements got memed, but if you even suggest this guy might be a taking a bit long, it's either the most hateful text you'll ever receive, or an instant block/ban.
