Watching this made me realize I haven't heard it, well I have listened to snippets of it hear and there, I remember all the who-ha of the record being made. The golden age of space exploration, I look forward to listening to so much more now. Thanks for to prompt Lisa.
Carl Sagan would most definitely approve of your message ! What a wonderful story: finding her roots through the stars... here on our beautiful planet: Earth. Humanity at it's best - no wars, or conflicts, religions and propaganda were depicted on the golden record, just almost every race, tribe, nationality represented, music, dance, art ,architecture and nature. Accompanied with wonderful music the ending made my eyes wet. Bravo !
It'd be full of naive hippie fluff and elves and dragons and shit. Still better than capitalism I guess but do we always have to settle for the least sucky thing?
This video made tears. it made me realize that I don't think I could ever leave this planet if I have the chance. I am part of it in a way that is deeper thenni ever realized.
Stunning and awe inspiring that you are part of something so much greater than yourself and the fact that you should treasure this gift of wonderment in an ocean of infinite possibilities. A real celebration of all that mankind should aspire to and work towards. The universe is a wonder that you should never take for granted no matter your age. I remember staring into the night sky as a 17 year old marine in the jungles of Viet Nam and now even today it has never lost the magic of making you feel so small and yet so a part of this wonder!!! This needs so many more views. Another undiscovered gem on YT, far to many of them compared to the nonsense most people watch.
Ahhh thanks so much for sharing that story! Its great! Thank you so much and glad you liked the film! It’s those common shared emotions of the stargazing and the universe that inspired me to make it!
🔵 I found it quite an enchanting fantasy,.... If perhaps a bit unrealistic,...there are two points that breach my credibility gap,... 1.) There is no-way that the Voyager would have been anywhere near as intact as she found it after a crash of that magnitude, and.... (2.) if it was as easy as it was for her to remove the disc from the craft, it would most-CERTAINLY have come loose and been destroyed in the crash,.... as Voyager was a fairly fragile probe & was NOT equipped to survive a 'Landing' of any-sort. But... I enjoyed it anyway! Thanx.
As I understand it, Voyager was sent first, after centuries was sent the girl, and after even more centuries, the colonists. As the technology improved, the colonists arrived first, then the girl, and then the probe 😃 This explains why they use so complicated computer with holographic display, yet somewhat backwards sound player: the sound player was produced locally while the computer was taken from Earth.
Everyone should see this film. All of you who worked on this should be very proud. Much better than many films from major studios. I hope all of you are still making films!
This is a beautifully produced film and story. Scenes are exquisite. No dialogue at all and it tells its story brilliantly. Music fantastic, very atmospheric. Really, really, enjoyed it. Thanks so much for sharing it. I hope you go on to create such marvelous work. Peace to you.
Would it matter if anyone is out there and find the gold record? Would they know what it is? Or understand it if they had a way to play it? We may or may not be alone. We may or may not ever know. Many believe we were placed here or created here. If we were, anyone out there already knows about us and might smile affectionately at our efforts to find other life in our vast universe. Nice video.
well, beautiful pictures, lets one dream. my brain says beings will exist somewhere out there , and under similar conditions they will develop rather parallel, but they will never be an exact copy.. then my heart says: shapes are not important, but the story is. "what if...." that´s always the beginning of a dream... thank you for that
Agree with other comments.. beautifully done.. didn't really understand it, other than some other humanoid aliens discovered our Voyager 1 golden disc.. glad the girl didn't pull out the Urim and the Thumim to read the golden disc. So, why the baby, Lux, falling to the ground from space? Didn't understand that . Anyway, beautifully made, with lots of love only. Really like that.
I'm not sure I grok the whole piece, but I was moved by the absolute beauty of this wordless masterpiece. This is just wonderful, and I could binge on hours of this to know about Lux. Well done!
Beautiful graphicics. But can somebody tell me what the heck is going on? Why are the yellow lanterns floating towards earth? Why did a blue lantern have a baby in it?
Just one major flaw, Ain't no way in hell a Voyager probe would survive re-entry without totally burning up.. If any of it did make it to the ground it would be smoldering pieces. Still, There is creative potential here so I'll give it a thumbs up anyway and subscribe
i just realized the gold record/plaque would never make it to a planet intact. at least a planet with an atmosphere. it would have melted long before it hit the ground. physics.
if you liked this, I'd like to recommend James P Hogan's Start Child, and Donald Moffitt's Genesis Quest & Second Genesis. All 3 books deal with similar themes.
So let me get this straight... this alien society has turntables that play at 33.3 rpm? I've stretched my imagination quite a bit in sci-fy but this is a little much. Otherwise nice visuals.
The only real explanation is that all these people are Earth descendants - two women are colonists, the girl arrived from Earth (may be the last survivor) and finally the Voyager arrived. Chronologically, the girl represents the most developed technology (sphere), the turntables were just an accessory of the colonists.
Lux or an invading horde of aliens with a map to a new territory for them to conquer. Strange this one planet should be recipient of an alien with powers and a piece of space junk from earth. 😂😂😂 Thanks for uploading.
This is my honest opinion. Visually it is well made, and the actors are credible, the story line, too simple for the visual, needs more characters or static elements. Overall is well crafted, just needs that little something that would make it stand up.
I'm old enough to remember when those probes (there were two) were launched. Have we become so puerile and prudish to show the real images on the front of those discs. This short says we are. Google 'Voyager probes' and see for yourselves.
Thats are problem..we are always looking to the stars for help. Meanwhile there is not one among us that has the courage, leadership and wisdom to put together a think tank and show just how easy are challenges really are...Know that we understand how toxic masculinity is..it should be no problem.....
Are these comments all written by the employees of Lux? The video was nice - heart-warming in a way - but nothing extraordinary. The golden record uses technology that even *we* don't use any more, so I don't know what an extra-terrestrial civilization would make of it. To my mind, it was made for the people of Earth, not for anything else, Carl Sagan not withstanding.
@@dancingnature Agreed, but considering the probable distance between planets with intelligence that would be up to it, by the time it gets to one of them (supposing it's going in the right direction), the human race will be past tense.
Two women who don't age. A young woman not from earth. And a NASA probe wandering the universe. Not really a connection there other than they all end up in one place.
I am so happy to see that advanced alien civilizations existing many light-years away are using analog turntables.
Who said they were advanced?
The Golden Record is amazing. If you do one thing in your lifetime, listen, see and be amazed.
It can be overwhelming.

What a celebration of the wonder of space, curiosity in looking outward, and human connection!
What a feckin beautiful story... wow.proud to be human for a moment... that’s a hard feeling to come by these days.
Ah so glad you dug it!
If only our reality matched our fantasies what a wonderful world this would be

Thank you so much!!!
Such a magical story...a beautiful weave of allegory and metaphor. Ty so much for this wonderfully crafted tale.
Very pretty! I don't really get it, but it was gorgeous to watch. And that's good enough for me!
What's not to get ?
For unexplained reasons this tugs at my heart.
Wow. Sublime. Better than 99% of what's out there. Wonderfully acted, beautifully scored. Thank you.
I'm glad that even from distant worlds I'll still be able to add to my vinyl Lp collection

Beautiful fantasy film!
Just came across this, feels like a really really good dream, and it also pays homage to my favorite format in music, vinyl, brilliant

At least we left our mark, Gone but not forgotten 🌎🚀🗿
Now that was a good star..... waiting for the rest of what can be an amazing series..... thanks.

You can play an old fashioned record with a fingernail . Even a moderately advanced civilization would figure that out what it was fairly quickly
