- Hermitcraft season 9 episode 13! We start out big with our Minecraft let's play ep 13 on the Hermitcraft 9 server with a massive starter treehouse base. The design of the survival base will be elven-themed. Once we complete the treehouse, I'll build my dream Minecraft build.
Today's episode starts out finishing the Redstone shop in the new Hermitcraft shopping district and making an awesome interior design. After the shop is done it's time to cause some chaos on Hermitcraft. We make custom Crepper hats out of carved pumpkins and terrify the hermits with them. We eventually team with Grian and scare Bdubs and Cleo. I hope you enjoy and in the next episode, I start my Hermitcraft mega base!

When Scar screamed at the Greeper, it was so perfect because it set up BDubs to believe there was an actual creeper for another scare. It was brilliant. One of the best and most chaotic episodes.

Cleo's reaction is by far my favorite one of them all, and I just, JUST LOVE the fact that her reply to Grian's "Scar's a bad influence!" was just, "yeah, like I would believe that." Yet, it really was Scar's fault, lol.
The hermits could name their diamonds if they want to partake in being a possible customer of the month

Or just have a lecturn with the honor system of how many diamonds each hermit spent
If you don't want to name the diamonds, you could also make a space where you display the current costumer of the month and underneath it have a book and lectern where hermits can record how many diamonds they've spent.
oh and scar could sell named diamonds for an equal amount of usual diamonds, which would then be even "funnier" as everyone could buy items with anyone's diamonds
then scar could make a payment chest

Back then, when some of us were young, scar used to be one of the smaller RUclipsrs when Minecraft was first sprouting it's wings. He did house tutorials, hardcore Minecraft series, we all loved him. Now, after all these years, he's one of the bigger RUclipsrs, playing with other bigger RUclipsrs like mumbo jumbo.
he's one of the select few Minecraft RUclipsrs that continues to do what we love for more than 9 years

The Cleo reaction with the creeper exploding sound and then the censorship noises made me burst out laughing. Maybe even explode with laughter. Bill Fencepost is also fantastic.
Cleo's reaction was the absolute best. You guys are so good about keeping things family friendly, the fact that she was so caught off guard you had to bleep it out was just hilarious.

I went and watched Cleo's time surrounding the event and she actually catches a glimpse of 1 of the 2 as they enter the building, but its just a flash of about half of a creeper body as she is turning around. Lucky that she didn't notice it or we wouldn't have gotten that amazing reaction.
I didn't see it in her youtube episode at all (I was looking forward to it). Is it on a recording of her streaming?
@@dhayes5143 yea. Her stream for that day. It's at like 18 minutes and 9 seconds into the VoD. She's talking and wandering around the build and as she turns back towards where she is talking about placing flowers you see a flash of about half the creeper sprite entering the large doorway.

There is a saying: "If you dig a pit for another, you risk falling into it yourself." Grian giving you that jumpscare was the perfect proof of that. xD
I haven't laughed this hard since Tango's tree prank episode. Cleo's reaction was amazing. I watched it like 3 times and I'm still crying a bit.

Especially if you use doors in the marketing. Make it seam like you've got a separate shop for specialty doors like your specialty shop for beds! It'll be confusing and brilliant.
I love that when Bdubs, Grian and Scar all are invisible in the creeper costumes you can still tell who is who just by their movements

Idea for store diamond counting:
Have a book that hermits write in
The book says:
How many diamonds did you spend?
Grian-
Doc-
Bdubs-
(Write the rest of the hermits names)
And an example of how it will look when they write in it:
Grian- 15
Doc- 42 + 12 + 50
Bdubs-
So they just wrote the number they spent that day, next to their name and when they spend more, they use a plus symbol and the new amount.
I think it’s the most space efficient. And will hopefully show off information better than other options. ^_^
The Hermits can have a “rewards card.” Each item or diamond spent can equal a set amount of points. It can help with customer of the month and you use it for other ideas or promotions through the season.
I haven't laugh-cried so hard in a while, Cleo's reaction was priceless

To keep track of who spent what diamonds, have them name the diamonds with an anvil.

I love that in Scar's "super fast build mode", he had a "super slow creeper death mode" in there too... so funny...
Cleo's reaction is so relatable. That moment where you know it's gonna explode, and you just give up and slowly walk away until it explodes.
This is just an absolute masterpiece of a hermitcraft episode. Whenever I'm feeling down, I come back and watch this. I hope this can be topped but I have no earthly idea how.

Supply the hermits with an anvil to rename their diamonds with their name. You could have a chest of enchanting bottles next to the anvil for the hermits to use to get the EXP needed to rename their diamonds.
I feel like the Hermits should rename their diamonds for shopping to their users. It would just help the others know who's buying from their shops and then they could either rename them or collect the other's diamonds lol
The only thing is they would have to constantly rename them to reuse them. Alternatively, you could have a central payment chest with a ledger next to it for hermits to put in diamonds spent on their purchases.

First Impression of Video: Scar has a sixpack. It's beautiful.
I like DOORS for the shop name. You could rig the front door to randomly open and close.
For the customer of the month: couple alternative ideas.
1. It's like costo. People pay three diamond blocks for a month. During that month they can a 25% discount in the store. The customer of the month is randomly selected from members. That customer gets 50% off the next month, assuming they still purchase their membership card.
2. It's like a grocery store. You scan your "shopper card" when you make a purchase. So people leave a slip of paper with their name as they exit if they made a purchase. You track how many shopping trips people make and leave a door prize for the most frequent shopper.
3. Leave an anvil and a button to dispense XP. Ask people to leave their name on diamonds they spend. Then you can track your biggest spenders and give them presents or discounts.
And to make that shelf look less like a fireplace, the top shelf needs trapdoors too.
Never had to bleep out a Hermit before. Thanks Cleo!

If you turn around in your storage and see a creeper, you hope to make it from spawn to save at least some of the items.
If you see two creepers in your storage, you literally can see hours of work flash before your eyes.

Jokes aside, this is possibly one of my favorite hermitcraft episodes of all time! Keep up the good work Scar.
Perhaps you can keep anvils in the shop, and tell the hermits to rename their diamonds so you can count them. Warn them that if there is no name on the diamonds, they won't go towards customer of the month!

I love how all the hermits have their own timelapse song, it makes watching different hermit's timelapses much more interesting every time.
If I ever won the lottery, I'd use a million dollars (for charity) to get all the Hermits to do a 24 hr livestream event where they collaborate on a single enormous mega build, and the highlights reel would get to have everyone's timelapse music.
Maybe you could implement a system where Hermits name their diamonds with their name. That way, everyone could see who is buying from their shops so they could know their target customers.
I also thought of that,but it's extremely inefficient when sorting.

if there is one thing I have learned from hermitcraft, its that they will never be able to consistently use a new way of shopping, implement that system and i reckon about 10% of shopping trips will someone actually name their diamonds, if its a sign telling them to do it, then even less
I'd just have a log book and purchases only count towards the offer if they are logged
Alternatively you could order “tokens” with diamond blocks that would be named and you could see who ordered the most tokens
As for the Payment-System:
Incorporate Mumbo into your shop, he can bring his super successful previous business expierience. Also he could salvage his payment system from the best shop in all of Hermitcraft : "Pacific"
Scar is so right. Like when he explains why he will bring chaos to the server. I missed the chaos so much.(yes the towers were chaos but I need some more hermit interaction chaos)

"Doors" would be in keeping with the whole Masterdoor theme from the first episode. As for payment systems, why not get the Hermits to name their diamonds :)
It would be quite expensive on the levels and inconvenient if the hermits have to go to the end to get levels to name their diamonds with every purchase

I thought of that too but it would mean that scar would just have to disenchant them again when he needs to use them.
@@sketion5188 you don’t have to disenchant, because you can combine any diamonds (named or not) when crafting into blocks and then craft that back into regular diamonds again!

You could make a deal with Mumbo for personalized services. Hermits come to you with their wishes, like a big door or an advanced farm - for a price, of course. You then contact Mumbo and he goes of to build the thing, and you both get a part of the money.
Now when scar is online people won't be able to see creepers the same way.
The CHAOS that this psychological damage could cause is amazing.

JoeHills was actually live when you recorded your intro segment. I love seeing / hearing things like this in real time, even if he wasn't near you, the thunder storm and death message were still present.
My favorite part though is just before the recording, as you put in chat asking that no one sleeps, Joe was actually walking into your mattress store, aka a room full of beds.

PS: a good name for the redstone shop could be scarRED stone, like scarred for life but for red stone :3
Alternative: Just go with Scarred and add a second floor themed around the various costume for spooking people, or "scares". Sell sets of the Creeper and singles of the Tree.
Definitely go with the tomato. Doc has a tomato garden in his base rn and I think he may get a kick out of the name. (plus he'd feel obligated to shop there $$$)
