In the rear elbow strike, what is the reasoning behind the stationary, horizontal arm?

The main reason behind it is for a self-defense reason. When grabbed in a bear hug with your arms pinned, the stationary, horizontal arm can help break the hold that the grabber has. Does that answer your question? I'll try to make a video one day explaining that more in detail because it is an interesting technique.

What you see in the rear elbow strike is that the stationary are with the rear elbow strike is used if someone attempts to put you n a bearhug

She's doing all of this with almost no torque or leg involvement.

Suggestion........ Create your own "FLUID" kihon........ I think you have the style and imagination too create something 2021 valid..... Not stationary....... Foot Clan will endorse you.
