I don't think that the videos are slow, there's a lot of work that goes into restoring it working on stuff like this. People just need to complain about something. I hope you continue to show us videos up to the end of the project. Not boring at all or tired of the cab over.
Michelle Ricard there’s nothing boring about this video or the others. It’s all very fascinating because it’s something most of us don’t see often with the big trucks.
Man I love watching the process
I just wanted to ask him what is he doing in rest time between steps, becose I think he doing nice progress.
Beautifull machine, nice to see work behind.
This is light speed compared to project Binky.
Legend has it that Iceman can make rust shine.
Man he can make vantablack shine. And if you dont know what that is look it up lol. It absorbs like 99% of light Ray's
Iceman is so cool ill let him polish my head if i go bald, so that i can blind everyone with shiny baldness. XD
Preach
@@dickjohnson1158 how so?
Legend has it his ancestors had alot of practice keeping rusty chain metal rust free.⛓
Do NOT delete the airdryer, you'll have moisture in your system and all of the stuff will rust, then you're screwed
Just put a normal ad9 on there easier to get parts and you can hide it in the frame
I agree don't get rid of the dryer. You can get an aftermarket AD9 shipped to your door for around 250 that will work just fine.. 500 will get a pretty good one. Those don't just dry the air, they clean it to....
Dont deleat the dryer you gone have big problems Whit corrosion and freezing up in Winther time 😨😨😨😨
He doesn't have to worry about freezing LOL.
bo kvist this is my buddy’s channel we are in Florida.
I agree with some others on here, leave the air dryer on there you don’t want moisture in the air system. Great video.
I’m addicted to this cab over video series. I watch the notifications like a hawk for the next one. Lol
Here's my input on the paint. Buff the stripes, remove rust and clear coat the entire thing. Black sealer for the frame. I personally like the look of non tinted glass but hey, not my cab over. Love the cabover series! Can't wait to see it on the road again!
redo the exhaust too ! and start to hun for tractors again with the cabover !
5% tint isn't much though it'll be nicer to drive in the sun while also making the AC run less.
@@Perkelenaattori 5% is super dark lol. 15% is often times as low as you can go on the back door windows of a sedan. The lower the number the darker the tint. Meaning it allows in 5% of the outside light
@@billybobthornton4186 Bah that's idiotic then. Must be amazing to drive in the dark with super tinted windows.
@@billybobthornton4186 correct! Tint is measured by visible light transmission (VLT). 5% lets 5% of light through. I speak from experience on 5%. Works great on a hot summer day in South Carolina driving an old Toyota truck with no A/C. Pain to see out at night. I honestly had to roll the windows down to see where I was turning. Forget trying to back up with the windows up. No way I would go that dark.
I be waiting for these videos like a kid a Christmas🎄😂..
I know right I like these videos a lot
Same here yall
He is doing well and the socialblade proves it
Ricky Chisolm same!!😂😂😂
Ricky Chisolm fr
Ice man seems like a good guy you should have him join you in alot of your projects
I like what your doing bruce, your doing a great job and so is iceman. Can't wait for the next upload
Finally I’ve been waiting all day just to watch this video
Honestly, you got me hooked with these old cabby vidyas. I’ve done much of the same work to trucks and trailer’s, so i know how tired you could be after a full day working on this truck. And i can definitely say, its awesome to watch someone else do the work and still have the satisfaction of all the positive changes to the truck. Looking forward to the rest of the rebuild, and also the new project.
Do not take off the Air Dryer, you will have allot of problems with contamination in the air lines if you do and put some new exhaust on that Big Truck.
You have to have an air dryer.. if anything convert it over to the newer style... moving air will create heat and when cooled you know it turns to condensation which is water and then the air system will carry it into your valves and cause rust to build up and cause failure
1000% u just don't delete the air dryer.
As a heavy truck technician, don’t delete the air dryer. Moisture will lead to corrosion of all air valves and the inside of the air tanks leading to very expensive repairs in the future. Just install a newer style air dryer, they’re easy to maintain, all what you need to do is change the cartridge in the interval recommend by the manufacturer of the air dryer. I don’t know where you live at, but places with high humidity, a air dryer for a vehicle with a air system is a must.
@@raystapp4001 Correct and should be an automatic roadside out of service. As well the resale value will collapse as a buyer wont know how many hours have been put on the engine in that condition.
Ray Stapp: I think he is in Florida, so it’s very humid.
@@raystapp4001, I definitely agree. I'm a diesel mechanic as well. A lot bad advice being given to Bruce.
I want to see this finished before the other truck man.
More projects the better!
I know nothing of how to fix cars/trucks anything really but these videos are awesome, I love seeing old shit brought back to life. KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK!!!!!!!!!!!
You gotta give Ice Man a raise. Because he does a Great job on the chrome and the paint.
No change in content yet, finish this truck then change over, i love the videos btw
adrian richards agreed i wanna see it go from old and sitting to clean and revived these old trucks were built to last
With the condition of the spindles id recommend getting Stemco brand wheel seals. Theyre a better design for old damaged spindles, less likely to leak
There is just something awesome about old cabover trucks. This one really is a beauty!
It is people like you and Iceman that do more to erase racial stereotypes than all the kneeling and laws ever made. Bravo.
Well said friend
Don’t delete the airdryer, you’ll regret it in the long run. Just relocate it to the frame.
I'm in love with cab over trucks and wanna get one someday. These videos are great and I hope you keep posting for a long time to come.
I'm really loving this thing, watching old stuff like this be treated this nicely by people like you is very inspiring
Hey Bruce the Truck is looking sweet dude, I think it's fair to say most of us watching appreciate the work that's going into it...keep it up mate, looking forward to the next Vid👍
dude
rattlecan white the hub part and the axle ends too!
get some tape and some cardboard and you'll be alright!
Bruce I love what youve done here man this thing hasn't moved since I was born but I remember carbovers just like this all over the Missouri roads back in the early 2000s one used to sit in my old town by a few classic cars this mechanic owned them but he just let them sit I bet there still there nothing like this love the paint job
I'm liking the cabover series. Nice to see that you aren't ruining this one and actually taking the time to fix it up.
Love watching this old truck come back to life video by video. Funny thing as a kid I hated working on our rigs now I can't wait for the next video to see what's next.
damn his pressure washer is cammed and cant wait for the will it start on the new project
Tyler Duysen that’s that chop chop cam
Buddy Wiser those things are awesome! I loved using the one on my parents farm, damn thing would strip paint
@Buddy Wiser hotsy for sure is the only way to go saves a lot of time
I love your channel so much! Love the Will it start semi and you repairing it!
Legend has it Iceman is still buffin right now...
Your videos are not slow, I for one enjoy these videos. It is something different and cool as hell. Keep up the work and please please please keep the videos coming.
2:40 If there's a possibility that the brakes contain asbestos, be sure to wear a mask. My uncle was a truck mechanic in the Army Reserves for years and died of mesothelioma. Not a good way to go.
3:50 Pressure washer sounds like it's running a little lean.
4:05 Aha, there's a reason for that!
This is like the best reality show ever..
Make the videos you want to make! it's your channel!
I do love the cabover series most though, love the care, time, and effort you and Iceman are putting into this old girl.
keep it up, and thank you for sharing this wonderful series with us!
In Sweden, all large trucks are still cabover´s.
I like that kind of cabin.
I believe that with the help of IceMan and you, it will be miiiint 👌
Hey Bruce Big fan of the cabover videos which are getting frequent
Well. I'm here early :) Good stuff! Cant wait to see where this ends up!
New subscriber here! I love that original paint PLEASE don't change it too much. That red, black, and white isn't something you'll see much anymore. This just gave me some inspiration towards buffing my 68 ford truck windshield instead of replacing it. I'm in the middle of fixing it and she needs a lot. If only it had a cummins instead of this built 460! Funny thing is I just did the rear brake shoes and washed my turd box too. Seems like our builds are going forward at the same rate.
Really learning a lot from your work. The pace. The detail to each job couldn't be better. Roll n' Rock! Keep doing what your doing.
fuck i am SO into this, just love to see this truck come back to life.
I used to have a big cam engine.. I have the Jake breaks..brand new cam shaft with bushings..front engine cover.. Air break compressor..and some other parts... If interested let me know.. I live in lakeland florida..
Found your channel because ive got a huge soft spot for Resto revivals and i have a huge interest of restoring an early COE truck and making a custom car trailer for track days when i get up and going. Keep up the great work, you should do a video where you sum up all the money that has gone into restoring this truck so those who dont know get a bit of insight into the funds needed!
The ole girls getting the buff, polish, changeover of parts treatment, i'm sure it'll repay the love you've put into it.
You should really buy a hot water pressure washer it will melt all the old grease off for ya
Yeah I have one at work soooooo much better than a regular one 👍
Yeah we use diesel burners for ours. Pretty simple machines same burners that are on oil furnaces but have coils in the combustion chamber
Make sure the water pump isn’t seized could b y there’s no belt
That tractor unit is coming along great . . The new/next project is a real good looking truck too ..
Watching these cabovers being bought back to life is why I've subscribed ..
Gives me inspiration to work on my old 83 hino lol
10 mins of ice man 5 mins of the bearded guy! Go ice man all they way
That old girl sure would look sharp as all get out with a visor on her
11:30 he got too excited. went right in his pants! lol
Good job. Washing his truck in nature on the meadow. Hero
Love the cab over! Finish it!👍🏼
They make wear sleeves for the axle seals. Maybe when you go get them they will tell you.
Ice man Needs a RUclips channel. Detailing videos Would be fire 🔥
I agree!
Tutorial on polishing would be cool.
Lol i was gonna say the same thing cause every video i see its him working on this truck.. Its basically his channel
A good detailing channel I watch is @autoshine cars. He’s from the UK but does an amazing job and gives tips along the way. Also a funny accent lmao.
Love watching you guys restore the cabover im from the uk so we dont have any trucks like you guys so its nice to see. I hope it looks as good as it did when it was first put on the road.
You , your dad and ICEMAN rock the diesel vlog national!!!!😎🇺🇸👍🏻
You should have Ice Man buff the ends of the tanks while the wheels are off.
Always wear a MASK when working with,or removing old Brake Shoes and Clutches!! Asbestos is a killer!!
Great videos. Love these old trucks coming back to life! Dont stop posting!
Best stuff in truck restore on the Internet. Keep it like that dont change anything in your videos. We like to see all the steps in this international
Buy a giant Toyhauler/Camper for that truck.
Dang Bruce, you're a tease with such short video's. I can sit here and watch them for hour's if you would do them. 17:09 minutes and seconds is not enough at all #justsaying. Thanks anyways for another great video. 👍👍👍👍
I’m learning English, watching your wonderful videos, thank you very much for the English subtitles
I can't wait to see it finished!! Looking forward to the new project truck!!
Could really do without that song on repeat on every time lapse on every video
Imma be honest I’m new to the this Channel and you definitely got my Attention been watching since you first got this been subscribe since wish I found you sooner but keep up the good work!!!!! Can’t wait till she’s done
You might want to grab the pulley on the water pump and make sure it is not froze up. Look at the wheel seals that come with the wear ring. The spot the seals ride on look pretty ruff.
Looking better every day, can't wait to see the finished product, be watching!
I was here when he had 1000 subs
I don't understand where you're going with the paint. Why not buff out the white as well?
You should get bed liner that is colored white and go over the white areas with it. It'll make the stripes pop! Put it on the roof and back of the cab as well. Looks good and easy to clean as well!
I'm really enjoying these videos. Keep them coming!
Yo Bruce could you please change the music up don't wana hear that song all the time please I recommend using NCS music non copyright sounds
YNT LilRiro99 Washington yeah, I’m done with this song
This needs more upvotes for him to see
Its his channel, dont like it, fuck off.
Not having an air dryer will cost you more money in the long run if you plan on keeping the truck.
She's a bute coming along nice love the trucks please keep the big rig content coming thanks!!!!
You have great videos sir, please keep them coming. I just recently discovered your channel during the cabover series you have going and they are great! I have been steadily going back and watching all of your other "will it start" videos and they are all very informative and fun to watch! Keep them coming!
I'm here so early I beat the notification bell.
Can we get some new music, that one is getting a bit tired
I dont know why but watching your restore videos is super satisfying! Also it looks a lot more fun to build semi trucks then cars because everything is much more avaible! Anyways subscribed!
I’m enjoying watching you and Ice Man bringing back this old gal. Can’t wait to see the finished product.
that hub sealing surface more then likely wont seal man, it's way to pitted. Would be like thinking a crankshaft in that shape would seal.....it might but more then likely it wont seal.
I couldn't tell. I'm sure they make repair sleeves for that like they do for cranks.
It's illegal as hell to tint a commercial vehicle..get caught you'll pay for it..
Sources?
Tinted trucks all over where i live
if its not being used for a commercial purpose the rules dont apply, you dont even need a cdl to drive it if your not using it to haul freight for commercial reasons.
Depends which state you reside in. California I believe have the strictest laws. You can't tint the windshields but I have seen a product that 3M put out clear window tint has better heat blocking properties than have 5% limo tint was made for classic cars (who wants to see window tint on a 65 Mustang but want the benefits) and also big window vehicles like motorhomes and such. Kinda expensive but its amazing!! Also used on buildings/high rises. I believe it said SPF1000 rating!!The Crystalline Series rejects more heat than many dark films without changing the appearance of your vehicle. Light tint rejects up to 60% of solar energy and up to 97% of heat-producing infrared rays for the ultimate in comfort.BTW love this video series of this cab over. Why I subscribed!!
Had mine tinted for year's. Texas state trooper stopped me and tested the tint. He told me as long as I was intrastate and not interstate it was legal. And it was some dark tint.
Love watching this restore project .. it’s a good old rig that just needed some lovin.. 👊
So happy that your channel is getting the support it deserves
I been also watching Westin on his build of his peterbilt but I like urs better bc u get shit done hes been lolly gagging around on his I'm loosing interest on his build but urs I like
its 9:38 on a sunday
The regular crowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Making love to his tonic and gin
He says, "Son can you play me a memory
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet
And I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes."
Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feeling alright
Now John at the bar is a friend of mine
He gets me my drinks for free
And he's quick with a joke or to light up your smoke
But there's someplace that he'd rather be
He says, "Bill, I believe this is killing me."
As a smile ran away from his face
"Well, I'm sure that I could be a movie star
If I could get out of this place."
Now Paul is a real estate novelist
Who never had time for a wife
And he's talking with Davy, who's still in the Navy
And probably will be for life
And the waitress is practicing politics
As the businessmen slowly get stoned
Yes they're sharing a drink they call "Loneliness"
But it's better than drinking alone
Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feeling alright
It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday
And the manager gives me a smile
'Cause he knows that it's me they've been coming to see
To forget about life for a while
And the piano it sounds like a carnival
And the microphone smells like a beer
And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar
And say, "Man, what are you doing here?"
Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feeling alright
Hey Bruce you are catching my eyes on your works ...and you got me...turnin this old truck to like new are amazing and you did it...great job...👍👍👍
Well , those videos are just, f@##king amazing!!! The amount of work done by you guy’s made me open a cold-cold beer at the end of the video! Thumbs up from Greece!
Tinting semi glass is highly illegal and DOT will have your ass the first time they see it. If I'm correct it's a few thousand dollar fine.
But why?!?!
Then why do many truck drivers tint their windows with no issues from dot. Doesn't sound like you know a whole lot.
"Apr 5, 2012 - The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has confirmed to the International Window Film Association that window tinting is permitted on commercial motor vehicles. ... It also had published guidance that said trucks can use “clear” window films as long as at least 70 percent of the normal light is transmitted". So go easy on the tints, going dark leave you in a world of problems.
Chad Almand Few hundred at most and that depends on the state. If the state is strict enough they will say couple hundred dollar ticket or rip it off on the spot. In my case pay the ticket because I like my windows tinted 👍
My truck has dark tint on it never been bothered
Please change up that annoying song on repeat please!!!
Use your pry bar to take the rollers off of the cam then the spring comes off easily. Going back together but the stationary spring on and set shoes in place. Place larger spring then use pry bar to open the shoes enough to install the rollers. Tada semi brake shoe replacement. Buses are different ad the solid side is pinned so you need soeci as l tools to tear down which I have if you need pics
Please keep making videos of the cabover; I'd hate to see them just disappear! Thank you so much!
A tip that might help; if you don't like or need a 3 ft spray wand, just take a tubing cutter and cut it down to say 10-12" leaving about 4" from the spray tip and put a compression union between the shortened pieces then you can get into those tight spaces.
Lovin these cab over videos. Cannot wait til it's all finished and you take us for a ride while puttin her to use
A good sand and polish on those tanks would make the world of difference !
Thanks for doing semi trucks I LOVED IT ! GOOD JOB CLEANING IT UP ! Keep it up doing great!
Love these videos. Please take your time I’m loving watching.
Thanks for saving another piece of America's industrial past. Also, please fix that bent rear spreader bar between the frame rails . Thank you.
Cheers from Brazil, I'm relly enyoing all this work, Keep it going!
Loving this series... keep it up
