My mom modified one and raced it back in her day. Funny thing is if I even go 5 over she gets upset but she was doing full blown illegal street races with her dad and other random dudes lol
I was the same way as her booking it and pushing the limits of my car on the track and driving aggressively on the street (no cutting people off and cutting traffic or anything). That changed when I started teaching my little brother to drive and helping him learn to work on his own car. I realized I needed to be a better influence on him so that he could live a long healthy life without the risks that come with driving like an idiot. I imagine it’s the sense of love and care you have for someone like a family member that you want them to be safe and okay that pulls people out of that lifestyle, at least when they’re around anyway
You know it's funny I've never seen a post that I relate to more.... My mom would go to the huge street races we have here near Seattle Washington there would be 500 to 1000 cars every Friday and Saturday night She used to race her brand new 99 Civic SI that had full bolt-ons and was tuned She used to take me to the races until I was old enough to drive at 16!!!!? She would race anything and everything that challenged her didn't matter if she knew she could keep up with it or not...... And then obviously once I got my license at 16 I got my first Honda and started building it and I've had nineteen of them so far and I'm now thirty years old.... But if I ever decide to go fast with her in the car now she freaks out but yet she was hauling ass racin anything and everything back when we were teenagers me and my friends were riding with her😂😂 She's not into it as much as she used to be but she's got a 2012 Civic SI that she's kept stock since she bought it brand new and just a couple months ago decided she wanted to do cold air intake and header and full exhaust. She'll still race once in awhile but nothing like she did back when I was young it was definitely an experience that I'll remember for life and it's what started my love of going to the street races and building cars Just crazy to me that she freaks out was going five or 10 over but yet she used to do 120+ 🤣🤣😭😭
PRE fast in the furious me and buddies had these and would be doing swaps in back yards.. NO engine hoists .. We used ropes going around OAK tree branches, then hook it to riding mower ..and OUT she came.. Fun times. I then moved into newer hatches...
Those old civics are so light! I had an 89 civic lx manual sedan, gold/champagne with factory gold/champagne alloys. Always wanted to build one out, jealous every time I see one!
I bought that exact car even the color from a teacher my senior year of highschool, it was my second one by that point. Ended up selling it 3 years later when i got my 01 GsR Integra(which i still have 16 years later!) Buuuut man I gotta admit, I still think about and miss that ole Rx 😢
Omg.. I had one of those in highschool....and college...and my first real job. Lol. When I got rid of it , it had 427k miles on it. I wish I had it now. I loved this car.
Put a B series in it it will be so fast I've had plenty of crx's I have two 88 crx's right now one has a 300 horse turbo motor in it the other one has a 240 horse B16 awesome cars.
That girl is clean!!! I love white Hondas. I had a black 91 CRX back in the day. I totaled it racing, miss it everyday 😕 I was young and stupid, and messed a lot of good things. Now that I’m older I appreciate my stuff a lot more. I wish you well my friend!!
My brother had one he bought off Craigslist with all sorts of crazy mods and the back filled with subwoofers. Such a fun car. We used to call it the CRsex.
Still love my eg, although I have Evo9 and a FK8 but the double wishbone are so much fun to drive with, specifically in the rain. And I wish I can say "I finally brought a car that's older than me" 😂
Get rid of that truck sized steering wheel. Grab a small size aftermarket one, you'll see why. Try getting one without bare metal, crashing in these is guaranteed face into steering slam, belts weren't really restraining the body
Wow. lol. I remember when nobody wanted those, but they were the cheapest car you could buy, that you could modify. lol. People were buying them for like $1,000 in 1999.
Nice crx I would have never guessed a young girl like you would be into that type of car i miss my 1988 Civic hatchback dx man that was a good car I had that thing for so many years
My older cousin had a CRX Si when I was in high school. When my cousin and my older brother would go out together, sometimes I got to tag along and sit on the storage in the back with no seatbelt on because it wasn't a seat. I still had so much fun squeezed in the back.
Man I remember them being already quite highly priced relative to other Japanese imports in Australia when I was in the later years highschool...so like 2000 to 2003. They were usually priced pretty close to low km and newer r33 gtst skylines so can only imagine what they cost now
My mom modified one and raced it back in her day. Funny thing is if I even go 5 over she gets upset but she was doing full blown illegal street races with her dad and other random dudes lol
Second funny thing is ur moms car prolly only did 10 over before it capped out its speed🤣 hondas are funny

Sounds about right. My mom partied, guess who wasn't allowed to party?
Very cool. Something about late 80's-90's Hondas that keeps attracting new generations
Yeah new cars are souless

Bro this thing looks hideous
I had a 89 CRX. To date it was my all time favorite car.
My old roommate fully built his skunk2 certified and bored to a 2.0. it was so cool
I've had my 1991 CRX HF for over 20 years now. I'm never going to give it up. It is not the same car I bought either.
I see you've found some buried treasure.

I'm in my 40s and these CRX's are one of my dream cars I still haven't owned. You're awesome, I hope you have a amazing experience with this car.
CRX is my dream Honda, they’re just so difficult to find in my area. Settled for my 1998 Prelude eventually
Legit! I’ve own 3 hfs in the pass. Miss them all. Yours looks very clean!

Growing up in a SoCal suburb during the 90’s I used to see these all the time. Great little cars and classic design.

Congratulations! I’ve had my Honda CRX HF hatchback 5-speed from day one. It’s “priceless” to me.
My friend had 1 in high school with a b18c1 engine and a gs-r 5 speed. She drove it like a crazy person lol

These were something poor people used to drive. It's amazing people think they're something now.
"think?" 😂
Very jealous. Car is nice too😅
This is sweet, I absolutely love the look of the CRX. Looking at buying an HF myself, but with the stock engine so I can get crazy MPG haha

What i need to know, is how? How did you find such a clean CRX? And how much did it cost?
If you paid less than 10K for that. You have a good friend.
Dooper CLEAN! 😂
I had 5 of them back in the day from 87-92, all si models. You should JDM DOHC ZC swap it.
Direct fit, swap two wires on distributor and go!
And this is how women get their chance in racing. Cute dress. And a nice car.
