The elven ruby is infact an actual elf, like a soul stone. Priceless to the elves and may make you a target to the redrunners (especially if you sell it).
Hey, solo author Matt Kay here. Excited to see where your adventures take you! Also, the solo West Marches idea is very cool. I know of people who play FBL this way with groups, but I've not heard of a big solo project like this yet.
Hey Matt! Great supplement! I really do think this could work with a shared stronghold with just a *little* bit of hand-waving...for instance it may have to "appear" as a portal in a different place in each of our maps. Question - on your playthroughs, what are you using for the graphical interface? Is that just Roll20 with lots of generators plugged in? It's sort of like an interactive GM screen?
@@amanisalone Hmm, seems my earlier reply got removed. I'm a Foundry guy when it comes to VTTs and Forbidden Lands has an excellent, officially supported system module for it. I used this for my first solo forays in FBL. However, when I was writing and playtesting the official solo ruleset, I used notecards and Google Sheets since it's much easier to iterate like that.
Not Man Alone giving is the parental ‘divorce’ arc, by saying that more campaigns, the better- Still, the intro was very much hilarious in it’s own way! Will be fun to watch while trying to get back into the swing of Solo TTRPGs under my arsenal!
I put my own ribbons in books; slapped six of em in by Blades in the Dark book, alternating red and black. If you want it to look professional you can peel the headband back a little and glue it under there.
Your AMAZING idea got me to pull the trigger and join the squad. Have all the FB content sitting on a shelf for months, 'bout time to bring it to the table and build a stronghold!
Have you tried The Fantasy Trip? So many possibilities for solo. Including its boardgame form (melee & wizard) . Its a favorite at home. I found out about Pendragon from your channel, pretty cool!
"Serenity later!" I'm with you on the magic system. I just can't enjoy it and so when I was soloing this, I replaced it entirely with the one from Knave. I know, I know, heresy.
I thought you were gonna do a Pendragon Lands for a sec. Rotring Pro is badass but you gotta try the uni KURU TOGA. It sharpens when you click. I'm a hexplwhore. Love FBL!
Video 75 of me liking and then commenting on every new upload to tell the viewers that the Man Alone Podcast is absolutely some of that sweet, unhinged audio/vocal-honey. Psssst. Lets play a little RPG exercise. The RPG is completely based around the Player Character existing in a world driven by an insane SUBJECTIVE Morality. What would be the Subjective Morality your character might live by? Dive as deep into the answer as you’d like. My character would be driven by an absolute NEED to have the most exotic grass on the planet. They would spend their life researching grass. Learning how to cross-breed it. Learning how to change its colors. Learning how to implement it into other aspects of daily life. They would try to convert others around them to become members of the Grass Life Society, which is broken into multiple factions, such as: Children of the Dew, Purveyors of the Blade, etc.
I am so annoyed about Forbidden Lands. Well, more annoyed with myself, really. I debated picking it up for a long time. I hesitated to get it because I have so many other games, but I finally gave in and decided to order it... only to discover it is no longer available and it will not be restocked in North America. I could buy the PDF, of course, but I really wanted the boxed set.

@@wayfaerer3574 this is actually an amazing idea and I’m going to fold it into the game

Me and my dice are POLYamorous,so we can play all kinda games. Bebe did a great job on the shadow box. Great video as always.
Man Alone is so Salty about the magic system! Bro, who hurt you? 😂
That shadowbox is absolutely beautiful! Also I'm really glad you're giving Forbidden Lands a shot, it's inspired me to do that same.

Loving FBL... going to incorporating sailing from Pirate Borg and the derilict ship dungeons. I absolutely love that idea from Pirate Borg.
Great video. This is fun to watch.

Forbi-curious. I think you just made marketing material for the game.
