I had huge difficulties getting into fishing. In the end, someone on Discord offered up this tip: he'd accidentally always clicked the right button at the same time as the left button, and snapped the line himself! That's what I kept doing {doh!}. Solution for me to use a less sensitive mouse for a while, and consciously take my middle finger off the mouse while fishing. Voila!
Some additional tips: use buffs. Fishing buffs are HUGE. Jelly Brew and Fish'n Chips - the former gives you extra XP also, the latter is the stronger buff. Incredibly important if you are going after the really big game fish like marlin or tuna -- they are virtually impossible to catch even with an iron rod, unless you have a buff up.
Oh, and I found that if I manage to land a shark on the beach, I still need to get my spear out quickly and finish it off, or it will wriggle off the beach and back into the water.

You should do these in depth guides more often. I have many hours on Dinkum and even I learned new things. Thanks for this.
We mainly do guides. When we make them we look at what other people have done look at the Wiki and even do that specific thing to test it all out before a video goes out. Some videos go into alot of depth and some dont need to.

I had no idea there was such a thing as a Fish Book. That's a pretty powerful feature. That's a big win for fishing at night when things are a bit harder to see.
Took a while to double-check all our information was correct but we got it. Glad people are still learning everyday like us.
