Rooster Caught on Camera making Strange Noises While Cuddled

- Chickens make all kinds of noises, the noise in the beginning is to indicate that he's upset over something, it's quite common, you also hear a chicken make that noise in the end of the video.
What's somewhat more unusual is the wide array of weird noises that Einstein makes while I cuddle with him. I think he might be trying to imitate chick noises, which his vocal cords just... can't.
and the acting "Oh I am just eating these seeds from the ground" and slowly coming closer. Ha Ha Ha
my rooster does that. he has not attacked me or anyone (yet, you never know) he just "eats seeds" and lurks behind me making slow circles around me. what does it mean? is it aggressive? does he feel threatened? i have heard people say it means your rooster sees you as a threat. He sometimes will run at me while making excited noises and peck me once and then just kinda walk around after. Its weird. I think if he was being aggressive he would peck me more then once maybe? im new to chickens lol
@@bigdawg2004 Looks like a social thing - he may think you're another rooster but doesn't have any beef with you. A full-on attack mode would have included claws, spurs and lots of blood.
Its called Trilling, they do it when they're happy!
Reminds me of a chicken we had. She loved been around the house and hated staying outside, eventually she became our pet alongside with our cats and dogs.
We had chickens, too. 5 of them. They followed us even to the nearby woods. Chickens are very clever and when you treat them well as your friends, they are friends forever! I miss my chickens.

Nothing strange at all. That's a happy roo. Chickens are very intelligent and will communicate with you if you pay attention to them. Beautiful Buff Orpingtons btw

My boys do that when I cuddle them too, they really like to test authority but they’re sweet once you get around their rough edges :)
They must be happy and content with all that space.

I saw once that the rooster is really taking care of the hens, making sure all of them get enough to eat, protecting them, they'll typically be the last to eat and prioritise the well being of the hens...

I also had one of those chickens called buff orpingtons. They died due to a fox attack but yea she also made such noises! So i don't think soting is wrong with her. :3

that purring seems to mean he's super comfortable, I've heard my hens do this when they take a dustbath, usually when they're just done digging in and throwing some extra dust on top, then close all eyelids and make that 'life's good' noise...
