Charak festivals is a folk festival of West Bengal.
This festivals is started on the mid-night of 'Chaitra Sankranti' the last day of 'Chaitra' month of Bengali calender. Mainly 'Chaitra Sankranti' begins 14-15 th April of every year.
Charak puja also called 'NIL PUJA', 'HAJRA PUJA' or 'BATRI PUJA'. The Charak puja day is also known as 'GAJAN'.
This puja is actually to satisfy "LORD SHIVA" the great "DEBADIDEV MOHADEV". of Hindu religion.
Charak puja is performed men and women both members. Rural people arranged this festival.
In this festival people are hanged with iron hooks.
