Great service! I lost my wallet on a bus months ago with one of the last remaining pictures of my deceased mother in the wallet; it felt like the end of the world. The local lost and found had it with my mom’s photo and the $80 cash! I wanted to give them the moon❤️🙏🏽
When I visited London 9 years ago I left my camera on a seat in the underground and made an inquiry. 20 days later, the camera was found... THANK YOU TFL
not 100% true. Most go to a company that sells them. We believe there's incentives not to help owners unite with their lost items, obviously, just a hunch. So we made an app from our experience :) Traista app for lost and found
I left my iPad on an airport shuttle bus...someone turned it in. I've found at least 3 iPhones in the Denver airport's women's restroom (there's a convenient little shelf, but hard to see you've left something there)...and turned them all in. Not everyone is dishonest.
My nan was the lost property manager for 30+ years and she put into place most of all of the things they still use now like the computer system which is called Sherlock. As a kid I loved going to work with her and looking at all the stuff there the mounts of mobile phones, games, umbrellas, false teeth and false eyes and the weird thing has to be either a full court judge outfit with the wig or the wedding dress which was found on a train to which my cousin's and I used to make up story's to why it was left and never reclaimed.
If this was in Tokyo everyone would be praising the Japanese on how “kind” “well organized” “polite” or “better” they are in the comments. My respects to Britain and the British people.
My sister is very clumsy she looses everything, she’s lost her brand new iPhone at least 3 or 4 times, a very expensive canon camera, and her wallet and every time her belongings where returned to her by passengers but this happened in Switzerland
While in my country, you left something and the driver/conductor/fellow passengers will take it lol.. it’s so rare they get returned that when it happen sometimes it’s in the evening news.. good on you, brits.
Anyone noticed potential for transferable skills? If you can navigate around TFL's huge lost properties office, you're good to work at Amazon's fulfillment centres!
All the organization but still failed to find the owner, or the owner failed to get their things back? Some of these "lost" items might intentionally be left there.
And that doesn’t even take into account the lost property on the ordinary Railway Network, They have a lost property office at Waterloo for just the south eastern area and it’s just as big as this one.
you can try our app we made after dealing with traditional lost and found issues. We manage it part time, but it's community managed. We're in the google play store and apple app store.
Presumably, there are some space constraints, they said they get 1100 new items per DAY, 90 days seems generous when put into context. The more stuff sitting in lost property, the harder it is and the more time it takes to find property when someone comes in saying they've lost something. Your lost stuff doesn't pay rent...
@Mister M Khan Tell me one thing .. Exactly where are you from and can you understand hindi And i will explain you deepest meaning of love and life , the cosmos, universe, the space ,time and everything stephen hasking didnt write in his book..
Tokyo is also massive in comparison to London 8.1 million live in London , 36 million live in Tokyo. London is 8.1million population so tokyo is 4.5x the population of London you get 1.5 million items if you scale it up so that would be 900k behind Tokyo, another thing of note is the amount of people using transport in Tokyo compared to London on a daily basis is more than 5x also Tokyo is around 13,500 km² in size London is 1,572 km² so based on items lost London is 900k behind if scaled but if area is taken into account then London would have 9x what it losses now which would be 3 million if scaled based on area
it's interesting that the emirates cable car has the lowest reclaim rate.. probably due to the fact that it's useless to londoners and only tourists use it... then leave before reclaiming their items
It depends on when you go collect it, I lost my wallet and went to collect it the same day to collect it and they only charged me £3, the longer you wait the more they charge you.
I lost my purse 👛 😫 around Leyton barkers arms 😫 it had my ID'S and money. I hope to god the person that has my purse hands it in the police station please don't hesitate to give it back please 🙏
sans2019 it’s part of Transport For London, which is partly funded by the government and partly by its revenue from the Tube, the train, the overground, the DLR, the Buses etc..
our app can help them reduce costs by letting people browse digitally on the map/list or search. We came up with Traista app after a personal experience with American Airlines.
The dude was really easy to listen to. He has a helping and sincere tone🤔
Very true!
He’s a quintessential proper english gentleman.
He sounds Australian but he is probably part English from his parents side.
Chris Bautista He has an Australian accent.
Cheers! Yes, the accent is a bit of a mixture. I'm a kiwi, but plenty of time in Australia and the UK.
These people manage 340,000 lost items??
_Carefully, they’re heroes_
What a nice sounding guy. Sounds like he truly likes the job.
Imagine if the guy who lost his camera randomly was seeing this video and identified it

That's a classic
In my country it's called LOST and GOOD LUCK FINDING IT.
Must be Philippines...
Most country are,
I know Japan isn't on that list for sure. They run on the honesty system, they turn in what is lost and don't steal if something is out of the open
Guess who is calling in saying the lost their canon camera with pictures of disney land on it :P
😂😂😂😂🔥🔥
MonkeyEZ oh yeah yeah
I'm eating rice cakes at the moment.
@@miniena7774 me too
You would be out of luck if they deliberately delayed this video for months to stop people like you
The person who lost his parachute must be proud to see this.
Unless he got on the plane without checking his bag
This isn't possible in the U.S. They never make it because someone takes them. Brits are so honorable.

If you think brits are honorable you really need to see London
we dont touch things on trains because we think theyre going to blow up. you seen the video of the lidl bag on the train?
Have you seen the LA video? LA Metro collects a lotta shit too. Hundreds of bicycles as well

At 1:07 why is someone lifting a bag onto the blue slide for it to go 10ft around the corner?
Lmao I don't think they were supposed to put that clip in hhahaha
It's important to treat the lost property to some fun to take its mind off the fact that it's separated from its owner.

In my country those 99.9% of lose item would never be found ever again
its sad seeing so many lost toys... all those kids going home to realize they've left their favorite friend on the train.
The lost and found can't even be found
I lost a magic wand. Slight bend in the middle with a knurled handle. Near Diagon Alley. Thanks.
It's great there's a system like that and at least someone actually returned it. If it's here, most likely would not be return.
One simple Solution: Hire Marie Kondo........
Although by her standard most things does not spark joy for the employees and should just be ....... disposed :D
lol
Ok but she’ll make YOU sort it yourself tho lol, she won’t personally do it 😂
I wonder if they have my friend's phone in there.

I once left my then up to date iPhone on a tube seat. I was surprised to find someone handed it in and I got it back from these guys!
„ we Hope the People remembered they didn’t have their parachute before going on the train.“. Best quote ever.
Anyone noticed potential for transferable skills? If you can navigate around TFL's huge lost properties office, you're good to work at Amazon's fulfillment centres!
That’s very thoughtful of TFL in my opinion, I’m sure my local transport system doesn’t make this effort.
There's a great documentary in this.
Maybe that’s where my innocence is

Johnny English landed on one of those open top Big Bus in London, he must've left his parachute there.

Awesome service!
In Singapore what is lost is lost. Transport service providers dont even need a table to organise them.

people are going to claim the camera now that every know whats in the camera
I lost my ID (Identity card) from Spain on a bus, how can I know if they have it there, because I need it to do the renewal process.
This must be a really real problem if they opened an office with employees lol
I found a wallet with £200 and hand it to the police. It had the guys driving license in it. I wonder if he got it back
RazaGaming-Destiny If it has his license in it he most likely got it back.
i lost a q on the tube was pissed
Amazing
No wonder how much they have in their warehouse. Transport for London never replied to me about finding my items. Its profitable for them to sell it
You’re more than welcome to give me Those things
Yet they can't give us information on why the central line was suspended on friday
because of this, we made up our own lost and found app. Previous travel experience so a buddy of mine helped co-found it. We run it part time.
Surely they could just give back those primary school bags and save space considering the school is on them?
Japan: rookie numbers, we got 2.4 million lost items

you dont realise all little (but big) things that go on behind the scenes of a city.
Imagine buying a bunch of sex toys and then loosing it and then they have to keep it.. lol
Wait, is that my iphone x in the back there? Nevermind ill just buy android.
I would sell all of it
With the bookbags that you can see near the end call the school? and report a found bookbag return it to them they can find out who it belongs to
Does that mean I could see if they had a very nice bag and just say, oh that's mine
it's interesting that the emirates cable car has the lowest reclaim rate.. probably due to the fact that it's useless to londoners and only tourists use it... then leave before reclaiming their items
In my country, the lost items are vanished, someone maybe has use it or sell it.
How do you prove what's yours? Couldn't you just go in and claim someone's items? Obviously some things are harder to obtain without evidence.
I couldn't find my tupperware bottle with pouch :(
@4:18 you have to pay to get your thing back!?

In New York, this is called garbage.
Not very well. Lost a bag on train to then find it turning up on ebay only weeks later
hmm maybe someone stole it then?
Probably wasn't TfL selling it then, someone probably just found it and stole it instead.
