My wife and I visited London for 10 days on vacation (from Canada) this summer with a few side trips outside. I visited with my fiancee. Didn't know about that "where's the ball scam". She thought it's fun and fell for it. She borrowed £40. Of course, she lost and then she wanted to get it back, scammed another £40. Felt bad for her and went it with £40. It's a shame that the city didn't do anything about it as that had been going on for years. Overall, we did have a good time in London

As a Londoner of 62 years I have to say how much I love it. I have seen so many changes over the years, some for the better and a few for the worse. I remember going to London in the 70’s as a kid and most of the city would be empty at the weekends. Of course the West end and tourist attractions were always busy. As an adult I have had the privilege of going to many places the general public do not see, which has always been fascinating. Going behind doors in some tourist attractions and seeing other people trying to sneak a peek as to what may be behind them. Keep up the good work Hannah and be careful out there.

A Thames cruise well worth doing, when the weather is good, is from Central London upriver to Hampton Court Palace. It's a gorgeous trip!!
For the Globe, the standing tickets are fun, because the actors interact with the people in the pit. I've heard the benchs aren't comfrotable, bring a cushion. There's also the Sam Wanamaker playhouse, a replica of a 16th century theatre, used more in the winter, they light everything with candles!! Borough Market opens early in the morning, which is why they close early too.

That’s good,I get so sick of the Londoners/Southerners are unfriendly and the Northerners are wonderful comments, city people tend to be from everywhere and are more guarded on the surface, but I’ve found generally helpful and kind, but people are often more chatty and approachable the further out you get North or South,it’s just the way of big city life anywhere.😊

I think the Severn is the longest river in England? But I digress. I've done this exact walk so many times, I could probably walk it blindfold! Love it. With regard to fish and chips, I never saw Gravy in a takeaway anywhere in the South East until fairly recently. First time I saw it was in Wales. As for ice cream, £4 is not too bad for a 99, I've been to some seaside towns recently and they were priced between £3 - £3.50. Anyway, enough rambling from me!

Perhaps a good idea would be to recommend visitors to enter the Southwark catherdral , ( and cafe ) , that is beside the Borough Mkt. too! There are so many good walk tours available now , that have qualified “ Green card” guides to checkout the history of these areas you mentioned, especially good are the walks in the “ City” and business districts , near the Monument tower memorial for the great fire of London . ❤
