As of late Portugal has become too expensive to live in, rents are threw the roof, how the heck are the locals dealing with this high cost of living now, truly crazy!! i remember the old Portugal!!!
chat gpt, please create a video for me about some random cities in portugal. add narration in a male voice. don't worry about pronunciation, they don't know either.
From a local perspective that has some truth. I'm an American who has a property in Porto and with my wife in Hungary. Hungary's cost of living is much more expensive... If you're making a salary from abroad and can work remotely, the prices on mainland Portugal for everyday items are still amongst the lowest in Europe. When I go back home to California or most places in the US I'm shocked with the cost of groceries. Again, Hungary's inflation is amongst the highest in Europe post Covid.
@@johnnybabel5101 Groceries in USA are getting out of control. I live in Dallas. I get sick every time I go grocery shopping. We are getting less and paying more. Most items doubled in price since 2020.
Correctly, not only, but mainly because property owners began catering to foreign buyers with 3x more purchasing power that ads like this targets, effectively locking us out of the property ladder.
"Home to some of the most preserved medieval towns"...funny, just as the narrator was mentioning this, the video showed a cable car passing by buildings all totally covered in graffiti. Love Portugal, but many places have lost their authentic charm to massive tourism including Madeira and the Algarve. Still, there are some places retaining their beauty.

Making life hard for others is not the proper way to live with a clean conscience. Prices went very high because of all that publicity... Its called Greed on certain people making theirs lifestyle confortable while others can't.
Several inaccurate shots of things that aren’t in the city shown. Why is there a Madeira flag in Porto? Mysterious castle over Evora? And the pronunciations…
I sympathize with you, but there are people who wish to escape the insanity of North America. And your country seems to be wonderful. I'll visit a couple times, and then make a decision.
@@Peacemaker-er3tl Fair enough, but how is that our problem? It's the US people that should be solving US problems no? Don't get me wrong, we love receiving people from all around, and Portuguese people are an emigrant people as well... @@Peacemaker-er3tl Perfectly fine, as long as you don't overpay based on the local standards, sure. But from the moment you come in and buy a property for well above what would match local earnings, it's a matter of time until more follow suite, and the chain reaction is started...
You showed videos of other places while talking about a specific city… Calheta in Madeira while discussing Porto wth! Nobody’s gonna take this seriously like you’re an authority on anything about Portugal! 🇵🇹
I would have thought that not having a car is good for saving money and accident risks rather than the idiotic mythology about "carbon footprint" since the world couldn't survive without carbon. At least you could have mentioned air pollution from exhaust, regardless of exhaust content. Anyway.. .

Good God did you ever butcher the pronunciation of the cities
Naz Air! Wtf? 😬
It would be nice if you would properly pronounce the city names
The narrator butchered every city name
Probably AI generated
Ah yes and archipelago too😅 the background music very annoying 😅
Thanks for the vid!

Try growing up in the Bay Area.
'Threw' on through?
Nice video, and very nice visuals but yikes, is this a robot voice over? That would explain the names of these cities being butchered.
Retiring soon from living in usa. Wanting to travel to portugal. Anyone have a recommendation for the best city to travel to?
I loved no Mickey and pals when I visited in the early days

Is a "cay-fuh" sort of like a cafe?
Good Lord, get your pronunciation right.
You’re a treat 😂!!

I was told that Portugal is getting really expensive from rent to food. Prices have skyrocket. Is that true?

Real estate speculation by foreigners is making impossible for locals to buy or rent a house
Same is true here in southern California where our family has lived for a century.

But in order for forgners to live comfortable here...that makes very uncomfortable for us Portugueses born and raised here
How unfair is that ?

I wondered how these folks make recommendations like experts when they can't even pronounce the cities correctly.
If you’re gonna be at authority on a topic, learn to speak the language or at least annunciate their words properly! 🤦🏻
