New ramen place opened near me on the Chinese Lunar New Year. Last night was my 12th visit, and the owner thanked me and stated I'm his number 1 customer.
I've eaten at a high-end tempura restaurant in Japan many years ago. It was so good! We sat at a donut shaped table with the chef cooking and serving us from the middle. You don't realize how good tempura is when its served hot and fresh.🙂
Ichiran always hits when I’m out drinking all night in Hiroshima. Using the last bit of energy I have, I crawl my way there at like 5 in the morning before the first train back home. 😂 So glad I decided to temporarily live in Japan, huge cultural difference from the States and the food is just chef’s kiss.

New ramen place opened near me on the Chinese lunar New Year. Have had it a dozen times, and the owner told me that I'm the number 1 customer right now, lol!!.
I went this locations when I was in Shibuya City in March of last year. This is definitely a good spot to go to if you need some fast and simple. After a long day of walking around the city doing tourist activities.
@@Brazuken my very first ichiran experience was more than 14 years ago. And I first ate it in Fukuoka and they served it in the rectangular box. So once I started eating at other Japanese cities and encountered the round bowl, I actually felt it was weird. But to be honest I think eating from a round bowl is more efficient.
Im curious about this egg wash you keep yapping about! No tempura I have ever eaten had an egg wash? Always into a starch then a specifically mixed batter and quick fried.
Umami and Savory are technically two distinct profiles. Savory generally refers to spicy+salty with little to no hint of sweetness and activates the salty taste receptors flanking the front portion of your tongue. Umami is used mostly in the context of meat dishes and refers to the salty+meaty taste that lingers for a while. Think of anchovies, for example.
As someone who is not a big fan of fish but will eat takoyaki, will I like naruto maki or should I stay away? Lol. Not a big fan of fishy flavor things. Also in your opinion, do you prefer miso, shoyu or tonkotsu ramen?
Just returned from the land of the rising sun. Counted that I had ramen or noodles at least 15 times in two weeks including at Haneda where I had my Rokurinsha Tsukemen. 🍜. That’s not including the Kaedama at ichiran x 2 and at Nakiryu.
I'd love to see you try an Ichiran Kaedama Challenge someday! It's a challenge where order and eat as many kaedama (or bowls if the soup runs out) before a certain self-imposed time limit runs out, often 1 hour to 30 minutes.
Hey Mike. This is fab.. You were enjoying every part of it. I hope that you and your family had a blessed Easter 🐇🐣 you ate good & was in good company. Enjoy!! 🐞🥰
This being posted at 4am in my time while I'm craving ramen at a place where everywhere is closed at 4am is so criminal. Love your vids btw since the dawn of time

OGs remember when Mike didn't eat sushi. So glad he came around.
Here 🙋♀️ I remember him requesting the chef to blowtorch sushi so he can eat it. I also don't eat sushi, I'm afraid of eating raw food

I love that the chef frying your food and presenting it all with a smile on his face saying that he loves what he's doing.
My husband and I are planning on visiting Japan this year. Thank you for showing us where we can eat!
Ok?
I really recomen this place. It is insanely good
My husband and I lived in Japan for three years, moved back to the states last year. I miss Japan so much! 😢

That tempura dinner was out of this world! I learned a lot from watching the chef. Can't wait to eat tempura again.

Perfect timing for dinner.
looking at the chef at the tempura place, that man never works a day in his life, he looks so happy and content
I am seriously going to Japan for that Tempura meal. Great job capturing a mouth watering meal.
Have LOVED ramen for many years
Its a global city expect nothing less. Beautiful place and amazing people.
That scallop was fried to perfection.
Just went to the one outside Ueno station when they opened at 9AM....so worth it. line moves quick.
Who else likes ramen 👇

Atleast twice a week, thank goodness for Nissin 😅
@@BethDoublekickChickNissan Raoh ramen is so damn good
Never had real Japanese Ramen, I want to try it!!!!
Same. 😭
OH YES, The Steak House. Great place in shibuya. Was a good choice from daily ramen fest.
THAT RAMEN LOOKS SO HEAVENLY 🤤
Fun Fact, your last name means Chinese in Cambodian. Tokyo is an endless city for foodies! Love Japan overall.
Mikey's way better at eating sushi than making it.😂

So awesome to watch. I love sushi
The matcha pudding is a must at ichiran!
I love ramen
oh my word now I want to go to Japan
I love you Mikey, but all vinegar is fermented.
This ^ 😂
Balsamic is not fermented
99.9% is fermented balsamic is not.
That looks really good!
Nice another paycheck from Ichiran
"The vinegar is gonna be really good with the tonkatsu".
It's "tonkOtsu"! "TonkAtsu" are a deep fried piece of pork. You should know this, Mike.
Late night ramen🙌🏼 1:31
The definition of living vicariously!
26:33 “The skirt steak is tough and tendony (sic). It is very jooshy”.
That vinegar in Ichiran is must addition for me. Elevate the flavour so much! But most people never even tried it
Definitely gonna try it next time I go. It’ll have to wait though because I just went yesterday and I don’t want to die of salt poisoning
Did Mike say "to offset the cost of the vinegar"?
yep
So amazing
i miss those ichiran bowls, one in Brooklyn uses these weird rectangle bowls now.
The original bowl was rectagular. to resemble the Jubako box. If you eat it in Fukuoka, most ichiran used the rectangular bowl. Thats the original.
@@foodmore thanks for the info, didn't know that. I'm still personally not a fan because it feels like there is less broth.

I could eat ramen for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and a snack. I bet that Mike would say the same thing.
Me too 😅
Everyone trying to have a quiet time at Ichiran. Then you got Mikey filming, yapping, and slurping like an animal 💀
They’re all slurping 😂
First time seeing Mike enjoying veggie😂😅
Love it!
Bro best ramen ever!
Had some ichiran ramen from the NY one when I went, super good, but I remember you saying that it doesn't even compare to the Japanese ichiran
I've been waiting for your new ichiran ramen content, it's so good👍🏼
you made me pause at 2:37 and IMMEDIATELY rush out and get a giant spicy ramen. Alright I'm back now. No longer capable of being influenced!
Mr. Chen is Sífu Food!
You missed out on the kangaroo steak. It is very good!
I like ramen but also enjoy a good udon too. Not too many reviews for udon or Nabeyaki udon.
Awesome
Is Mike married yet 🎉
He is
Love ❤️ Ramen 🍜😍
Get the kangaroo steak next time
Wow I was half paying attention to this episode while I'm eating my fried chicken. Of course my ears are perking up with the word tempura. 😂
“Shibuyas still hoppin” 😂😂😂💀
How does tuna get cooked very krickly?
Damn.... Mickey time for desert and went straight to steak house😂😂😂
4am.. you are crazy Mikey lol
I’ve never seen another Japanese person in ichiran ever.
Ok bro 👍🏻

Im curious about this egg wash you keep yapping about! No tempura I have ever eaten had an egg wash? Always into a starch then a specifically mixed batter and quick fried.
He doesn't really over use the word umami. He just decided not to say savory as much😂😂😂
Umami and Savory are technically two distinct profiles. So all the delicate flavours cooked in the same oil? surely if the flavours are so delicate they will all taste the same ?
Carb overdose during Ohsumi sanctioned autophagy fast?
now vinegar adding umamiiiiiiii
Vinegar, especially fermented, is the definition of umami...

One day, I am gonna visit Japan only to have a bowl of Ichiran Ramen.
If you go to Fukuoka hit up ShinShin. It’s even better.
I’ve ate at that Ichiran, it is definitely a great location right by 109.

Some of the food Mike eats at these restaurants probably tastes a lot better than they look! 😏😊🙂😅😊🙂😋😋
Ichiran with at least it always needs at Least 5x spice 😋😋
Take a slurp of whatever drink or soup you have when Mike says Umami, juicy, fatty, and until we eat again, I'll see you later lol
