  • 4K video of Reloading and range time with the lightest bullets tried yet in the 6.5mm Grendel. Good results and impressive velocities with 8208 XBR and Shooter's World Match Rifle powders. The Wilson Combat Super Sniper Barrel seems to really like the 95gr Hornady Vmax Bullets. Also shown before and after cleaning Teslong borescope videos.

In these times where components are scares the 95gr VMAX makes an acceptable whitetail bullet. I'd prefer a stronger construction in the same weight but they make deer die. Last year I used 55gr VMAX in 223 and took a nice 7 point from about 65 yards without fail.

On the groups where you had the best SD/ES were most probably the most efficient burn of the powder. This is what I look for and then, to tighten up the group, I adjust the seating depth by .003" at a time(matching harmonics). Works for me. But, as you are probably aware, your pressure will rise every time the deeper you take it. I have seen about 8 to 11 fps increase per .003". I think .5 grain at a time is too much, especially with XBR towards the max. I usually use heavier pills and XBR, but about to test the 95grs, but with H335. Thanks for the good video.

The .5gr jumps are just to find a general range to then refine. I’ll do those in .2gr steps. Planning on doing that next based on a couple of these results plus work on my techniques again 🙄. Thanks for the input!

I us the 95 gr V-Max have for three yrs
    I use H322 29.1 grs
Had excellent luck with this load, have taken 7 buck with it out to 165 to 170 yds
Shoot my favorite shot high on the shoulder maybe 2 inches toward ham.
They drop, like a sack of rocks.
I use a gas gun and it shoots a 5 shot group from 1/2 to 5/8 inch at 100and 11/2 at 300 yds

Hazzbro 29.1 is over the max load
      I’m showing no pressure signs
But I would drop down to to max and work your way back up
I’m shooting a 20” Satern, groups are unreal
Velocity is 2856 out of my rifle

I have great results with the 95 gr Vmax with the bullet set .010 off the lands . It would sling one from the group if it was at jam . This might be your problem ? But every gun has it's liking for bullet jump .

It’s on the list to try again for sure. Main issue was a scope mount so it’s probably time to go back and retest these! Tks for the comments

@@Hazzbro1964 Sometimes it's a combination of problems and it's even harder to figure out . With my BCA upper the first groups were 2 inch with ammo loaded at book length . It has a short throat . I've since shortened the OVL and can get 1/2 inch groups or a tad less , if I do my part . ,6 groups at 100 are it's normal but I've had some in the .4 range .

New to Grendel, but not reloading. Found the suggested accuracy load from Nosler to give me as tight a group as .460, H322 and 123 grain Lapua's. Looking to shoot some light and fast loads that are practical for hunting, and accurate for paper punching. If I consistently get .5 MOA 4 out of 5, that will do for now. Seems most often in a five shot group, one will go off on it's own. I look for realistic accuracy from what I call a precision/SPR Nice review.

Best of luck on the .5 goal. Seems very elusive in the Grendel while I consistently get that on both my custom 5.56. Thanks for the info!

Man I loaded some 100gn nosler ballistic tips and 100gn a-max with 26gn of h335 didn’t have my chronograph out that day plan on doing that Thursday but I was able to shoot the best groups I’ve ever gotten from my 18” faxon gunner profile match barrel. First group from the nosler was 1/8 of an inch center to center it literally looked like maybe 2 shots. Followed that up with a 3/8 of an inch group and then both groups from the a-max were both 3/8 of an inch. Think ima frame those targets lol

The old intro music was 120,000,000x better. Also, target camera is useless the way it's set up bc we can't see the impacts. Set it up off to the side a bit, position it quite a bit higher, and zoom in.

    • @Hazzbro1964

Yeah, I’ll work with the new camera position more for sure. Really don’t like the new music? Just thought I’d change it up a bit.
