I honestly think bringing Miles or Gwen as Spider-People would diminish the value of having a Peter centric story. Of course the true potential and message you thought about are great, but I feel it just works so much better for the animated Universe, one that undoubtedly has less of an impact on the masses than the live action incarnations. I do think that it's kind of a cheap move to do all of this fanservice, mainly because it makes it seem like both Sony and Marvel Know they just can't get people to watch their movie and make my entire lineage savings in a single weekend only with Tom or the rest of the MCU movies cast, but if they absolutely have to do it then I'll receive Andrew and Tobey with open arms.
I feel you can have it both ways, have a post credits scene where Miguel O’Hara recruits Tom’s Peter for Across The Spider-Verse, but just have the main movie be Tobey, Andrew, and Tom
Really good prewrite, yet for some reason I have a lot of faith NWH's going to be good. The only real way I can see them ruining it is if he ends with his identity not being a secret. Apparently Raimi and Webb were brought in as consultants on Tobey and Andrew's roles in the movie
You talked about how Sam raimi is the only person you trust with his characters and I think it’s confirmed him and Marc Webb helped work on the scenes involving Tobey and Andrew which is great
Bringing in miles and Gwen would be possibly the worst thing to do. Why bring in these two characters with no backstory when there’s two perfectly good spiderman than already exist in live action that we have context for.
@Maxy_is_a_qt I kindly disagree with your disagreement. Having the other Peter Parkers are examples for our Peter Parker to see and learn from. Having miles and Gwen would raise more questions about their backstories
EXACTLY, i hate how so many people imagined Miles coming into No Way Home as if he’s the same as the other 2 Spider-Men, he’s not a Peter Parker, he’s literally an entirely different Spider-Man, bring Miles in is like bringing Peni Parker into the movie 🤣
Worth mentioning that Uncle Ben did not play nearly as large a role in the comics as he did in the Raimi movies and future movies, at least prior to those movies coming out. Peter figured out, on his own, that with great power comes great responsibility, after Ben died. Obviously Ben's role in the Raimi trilogy had an impact, since it was then integrated somewhat into the comics, but I think it's important to recognize, especially since it seems like parts of the MCU Spidey are leaning into the Lee Ditko era of Spidey (the black suit is a pretty big indicator).
Troyoboyo, buddy, I live for these rewrites and prewrites. Can't wait to see this video and the extra good news is we might be getting two No Way Home related videos, or maybe more than two. The main ones being the prewrite and the other one being the rewrite (if maybe you think you can make the movie better by adjusting some things just like the Homecoming and FFH rewrites.) But yeah I look forward to this *pre*write because I know it's about to be dope!! Edit: Omg that concept art board with Tobey being Ben was sooo good!! This prewrite lived up to my expectations and then some because I wasnt expecting those wild cards to be so random so I laughed really hard. Oh and, those people that get butthurt about a opinion are children. The reason why I stuck with your channel IS because your rewrites and prewrites. They help me understand the character of Spider-Man better and because those videos, well, they give me inspiration. Because all of that info, is coming from a person that cares for the source material, and I respect it 👏👏
Peter hiding his identity is kind of the only thing that can save the character in my opinion. It means he goes back to square zero before he goes to college, friend and aunt doesn't know he's Spiderman, probably not dating MJ anymore, no connection to the avengers so he loses all his tech. It allows him to be that working class hero who's just getting by. Edit: I'm a prophet
Then it makes this trilogy completely pointless. That’s my problem having Doctor Strange involved at all, you can put the genie back in the bottle without essentially going “Homecoming and Far From Home didn’t happen”.
@@thomasjohnson1885 it wouldn't make it pointless, Peter still has all the character development that he gained, which was all that really mattered in the movies, plus it isn't that the movies didn't happen it's that everyone forgets he's Spiderman. him losing everything doesn't make the movies pointless when he didn't even have to work for what he had, the suits, the tech and all the connections all came to him just because Tony decided to recruit him for Civil War
@@danyms4082 If I have to sit through 2 hours and a some change of Peter trying to get together with MJ, I don’t want that to essentially disappear. They can break up or something but erasure sucks. Homecoming proved that he earned the right to have the stark suit, he doesn’t need the tech but it’s just a part of this version now, FFH suit is him finally believing his abilities and not seeing himself as the next iron man but the next himself. I don’t see the reason to throw that away just to get a cloth sewn suit that means nothing to his growth other than “That’s in the comics”. Not saying you’re wrong but do you see my thought process?
@@9.b_javaspradiparamadhani382 Spider-Man is a relatable character And most people can always look up to him, i'm a bit shy and introverted so i always loved Tobey's Peter I Just can't relate to Tom's Peter, and if he is famous? It would be impossible
I need a talk that reminds the Civil War scene when peter say the line that he said in a dialogue with Andrew and Tobey Peter is at his low, and he's afraid that the things he's done at that point will hurt more people and then tobey would say that he learned something with his mistakes since the first, when he let a thief run away, the same one took "uncle ben" they say together, and then Peter would say the phrase and tobey complete it saying "With great power, comes great responsability" This would make Peter stand up and finally accept totally the thing he's tried to let in the past, even thought he couldnt: the death of his uncle
I don't know why we would have Donald Glover playing Miles though. He's not Miles. He did reference his nephew though, which lines up more with Miles' story, along with the fact that Donald is literally buying weapons for shady stuff. It only makes sense that he would become a masked villain and have his nephew counter him like in into the spiderverse.
It would have been cool if after Tom says "I don't know how to do it alone" Tobey says "You know, I believe one person can make a difference." I think that would be a cool way too reference Stan Lee in a Spider-Man movie.
I ABSOLUTELY DISAGREE with having Gwen and miles in this movie, its already so jammed packed it'll be Spiderman 3 and tasm 2 all over again, it would literally feel just a shove in, the reason the 3 Peter parkers is being done is because of the already established universe and into the spider verse did well because its main focus was the multiverse , its literally in the name, having more spider people would work for another big scale Spiderman movie meant to be a multiverses movie and not just the story of 1 Peter Parker who causes random stuff, it would be the worst idea ever to bring back Tobey and Andrew after so many years and shift the limelight to spider Gwen or miles, I really hope they don't do that which im sure they won't
I'm most interested in MCU's Peter interacting with Raimi's Green Goblin since he is a straight-up Saturday morning cartoon super villain. That's the beauty of Norman Osborn since he is legit crazy but since he can hide it then people don't realize it until he finally explodes.
Bruh looks like we got our wish and I was so worried they’d make goblin comedy relief but thankfully they didn’t as he had powerful lines and was actually threatening like before
You know what I like about your Tobey/Uncle Ben cameo; that Peter doesn’t say “Thanks….UNCLE BEN.” We all knew who it was it didn’t need to be said like “Robin” at the end of Dark Knight Rises.
Jesus Christ. Your Toby scene was spot on! I legit got tears in my eyes and the line of “sometimes we have to be steady” felt like a ton of bricks being dropped on my heart. GG man. That is absolutely spot on! And yes I’ve seen no way home and was happy with it. But this would have been the icing on the cake
I'm not gonna lie, that motion script part of the video actually gave me chills. Picturing that in my head and I would absolutely LOVE if something like that happens in the film.
Honestly I wish we had a Spider-Man film with Michael Mando as the scorpion all by himself. Cause Mando has acted as some of the best villains I've ever seen. (Vaas from Farcry for example.) I am excited for Dafoe's Green Goblin to manipulate and harm Peter again. It is a bit lame that they had to include other villains from different universes but it's every fanboy's fever dream. Hearing that there's various rewrites during filming from Holland himself, honestly scares me.
Think it could be cool. I’m kind of over high school Peter but I think a show about him in the homemade suit sounds awesome. The origin isn’t hugely important to me but the animation looks sick from what we’ve seen
At this point with where this movie is going it's safe to say Twitter will be split in half much like the previous two films. Where there is people who like the change and people who think they can do better with it but ultimately this weird Peter Morales character it's a coin flip that we hope doesn't go too bad. Happy Thanksgiving Troyo!
i'm surprised troyo didn't adress the fact that the hyphen is finally there in the name. thought he would get a nerdgasm or get the pen close and be like "oh right it's already there....WAIT-"
Gotta be honest, I don't think this is one of your best works. I really think you misled people by calling this a "prewrite" when it's clearly more of a rewrite before the movie is even out. I do like a couple of your piches, but the majority you suggested here are just awful in my eyes. I think the last pitch of Tom and Tobey sitting at the rooftop and having a nice talk is great, but that's kinda where my praise ends. I really don't like a lot of the ideas you suggested such as the Sinister Six being composed of MCU villains because we only have Scorpion, Shocker and Vulture right now. Mysterio is dead as hell and Vulture doesn't even seem to hold much against Peter considering his ending in Homecoming. And if you were to have the movie introduce three new villains out of the blue to then have to flesh them out all in one movie... well I don't think I need to tell you what happens when you shove a bunch of undercooked characters into a Spider-Man movie. I'm also not a fan of your pitch to have Andrew with the black suit, Spider-Gwen and an older Miles Morales show up as the other Spider-Men because then it would just feel repetitive from ITSV. We already saw these characters in another Spider-Man movie that was very recent. And besides, these characters would not service the narrative as you claim they would, because that would then require an overhaul of the script. No Way Home is clearly not an "Anyone can wear the mask" type of Spider-Man story, it's clearly trying to focus on the MCU version of Peter Parker. If you do another one of these prewrites, please make sure they are actual prediction pitches instead of you trying to rewrite the story before the thing even comes out.
Honestly it feels like he wants it to just be Spider-verse but in live action. Like I love that movie and everyone can have their opinions but it doesn’t seem like the actual movie is trying to be a multiverse movie more so than it’s trying to be a live action Spider-Man fan service movie with multiverses as a justification. Idk, the whole extra Spider-people in this video just feels like non-Peters for the sake of it without benefitting the plot in any meaningful way except to shoehorn in another movie’s message.
I think using Tobey and Andrew just makes sense. Outside of the whole nostalgia thing, they're live action Spider-Man films with fleshed out stories. To have them come over to Tom's universe and pass on their knowledge would just be great in my opinion.
18:53 this is beautiful.. I’ve replayed this part so many times because it’s just, wow. It’s such a shame knowing that the Spider-Man no way home directors will never make something that will match this. I want to see this in the movie so bad! but, *sometimes we have to be steady, and give up the things we want the most. Even our dreams.* And in my case, my dream is that this scene ends up in the movie. And I’ve given up on it knowing that the directors won’t do this.
@@mewhenthe5384 but I never asked :/ I was just saying that this would’ve been cool to see and all of a sudden you are telling me that Ben doesn’t matter in the movie? I’m not asking about why Ben isn’t in the MCU I really don’t even care! You really are a dumb one aren’t you?
okay HOLY SHIT that motion script literally had me in tears in the end. Seeing Tom cry enforces the idea that his version of Uncle Ben never completed the saying before he died and now he finally realizes what he was trying to say...
For somebody who loves MCU's Spider-Man and think he's a more down-to-earth take on the character that relates a lot to his humanity: I too, have my doubts of this movie, the same as you. To be completely honest with myself, I want the first act of the movie to be the most well written act of the movie, as we see Peter and his friends, and everything around Peter start to fall apart, giving him the emotional struggles he needs to want to go to Strange about the spell. With such a drastic reveal at the end of Far From Home, not only does this have to matter to the character and characters around Peter, but it also has to effect the world as a whole seeing as how the predecessor of Tony Stark is now convicted as a murderer and used Stark's technology that he trusted Peter with to "kill" said people. Out of anything, there needs to be controversy with how the world views superheroes as a whole after being told that a renouned and now dead superhero entrusted another hero who they were all familiar killed half a country. Outside of the first act (which I find extremely hard to fuck up), I have doubts about how they'll treat the villains outside of Doc Oc, because it seems like they're headed in a good direction with him. And of course I have my doubts about Tobey and Andrew and if they'll get their time to really show some character between the three. As much as I still love MCU's Spider-Man, I do agree with the doubts that you have on this movie and feel like you've made some very valid points. Because a multiversal plotline is... extremely difficult to manage, as difficult as time travel in my opinion.
Bro.... That fan made ending with Tobey Maguire that u made... Oh my god. The music, the voice acting, the sketch art (the beautiful sunset). It's enough to make a grown man cry 😭. I wish that's what they're gonna do with Tobey's spiderman but based on leaks it's probably not :(. Thank you for making my dreams of tobey coming back come to life in the form of this.
Hey Troy. Thanks for making this video. For the past few years, let’s just say I’ve flip flopped a lot on the character of Spider-Man in the MCU. There’s times where I’ve absolutely loved him, there’s times where I agree with people such as you, and now, I can confidently say with this video that I’m totally in on MCU Spider-Man. He’s not my favorite, the cake goes to Andrew and the TASM version for that but I can definitely see the seeds of a perfect Spider-Man story in there. I genuinely like Homecoming, FFH and the other times Peter has been seen in the MCU but I can definitely see where some are coming from. But knowing that there are still people who are fans of Spider-Man that can view the MCU Iteration in a positive light and build a perfect Spider-Man story through that foundation, it gives me hope that the writers for No Way Home can do the same. I hope that makes sense, it might be a bit long winded but being a writer, you kinda get lost in your own words sometimes. I’m sure you’ve experienced the same thing. Now regarding NWH, you can definitely tell Jon Watts uped his game as a director. The visuals of the film are very tasteful, especially the opening shot of the second trailer with Peter in the rain. The CGI, yet unfinished, seems to be very good and it keeps the charm and aesthetic of the villains from the respective universes. Speaking of CGI, or lack there of, the new integrated suit is practical, at least in some shots, and it looks great! Same can be said for the red and black suit. The integrated suit is actually a combination of the upgraded suit and the iron spider after the latter is destroyed in the bridge battle with Doc Ock and Goblin. Without the stark jet and with Peter on the run, it seems as if he’s going to be getting his hands dirty while making this new suit which I’m excited for. Finally, it seems as if they’re finally treating the characters with weight and I’m sure both of us will be eating that up. And even with the grand scale of the film, you can still tell a grounded and personal story, just wanted to get that out there. Overall, I loved this video. I agree with you in most things and I’m glad you’re still able to respect something that isn’t exactly your favorite. And the respectful and positive attitude and the message at the end was great. Thanks again Troy, hopefully you like the film.
One of the things I would scream for is if one of the after-credit scenes is Tobey and Andrew are back in their dimension when a portal opens with Spider-Man 2099 and Earth-67's Spider-Man asking for either Tobey and Andrew's help.
If someone dies, then it better not be Aunt May. As his last familial bond and his mother figure, she is way too important to just kill off at this point in the story. When/if his identity is secret again, who even cares if he gets new friends and doesn’t tell them he’s Spidey? He doesn’t owe them anything, they don’t have a built-in trust and history. There is nothing quite like the pressure of having to lie to the woman who raised you, and if they throw that away, I’m done with MCU Spidey.
Still pisses me off that the MCU couldn't give us a scene of Peter and MJ talking about him being Spider-man and what it meant. They just had May be perfectly fine with it.
Any emotionally resonant moment, they skip past it or contradict it. It’s like each scene is written by someone who hates the previous scene or film(s) and wants to undo anything they did. It’s insane. Peter and May having money troubles in Civil War? Completely irrelevant to the story or characters in any of his movies and almost never even acknowledged outside of the occasional little nod that goes nowhere. Peter saying in both Civil War and HC that May would freak out and never let him be Spider-Man if she found out? Nah, apparently she is fine with it and even encouraged him to pack his Spidey suit in FFH when he didn’t want to. Peter mentioning in Civil War how May is really struggling with Ben’s death (which she should be because he literally died six months ago), and it’s clear he is as well? Nope, the man is never brought up again outside of some initials on a suitcase. Peter turning down Tony’s offer at the end of HC in order to go be his own hero? Never mind, he got the Stark suit back two minutes later. Happy giving Peter a big speech in FFH about how he’s his own hero and not Iron Man? just kidding, he’s going to start doing Iron Man stuff five seconds afterward and even start listening to AC/DC, drawing extremely overt parallels between them. Peter not noticing MJ’s subtle crush on him in HC, opening the door to let him figure out his own feelings for her in the next movie? Whoops, turns out he’s already super infatuated with her by the time FFH even begins, totally skipping over all that development. Peter’s experiences fighting Mysterio teaching him not to be fooled by a villain’s tricks anymore? Haha, well now he’s getting tricked by villains again, so I guess he learned absolutely nothing! Peter now seemingly reversing the identity reveal and thus returning him back to actually being Peter Parker who has to balance secretly being Spider-Man with having a life as Peter Parker with the people he truly cares about? Well, if the trailers and basic logic are any indication, it seems like he’ll end NWH with nobody even in his life, defeating the narrative purpose of undoing the identity problem from FFH! Without anyone he is genuinely close to, who will he even be hiding his identity from in the next movie that we’re supposed to care about? What, is he gonna meet some dude he kinda likes hanging out with or whatever? Peter balancing that relationship doesn’t matter at all, he’ll barely know them! There’s no tension there, he could instantly cut them out of his life and it would barely matter to him! They aren’t his aunt! They aren’t his childhood best friend! It doesn’t matter who it is, they can’t just pop in and expect to ever take those places. MCU Spidey is officially dead on arrival if May dies.
I just want to say first and foremost that the Tom and Toby animatic you did absolutely brought me the feels. And I absolutely agree that people should just learn that opinions are just opinions (even though that it’s still gonna get people in a frenzy regardless) With that being said, I’m not really a big fan of the idea of having spider Gwen and Miles introduced towards the end because I would honestly rather keep them separate from the into the spider verse films. Also, I really hope he decides to keep his identity a secret is a good way to close off his character journey. All in all, good video!
So stoked!! Your rewrites and prestige’s are amazing I’ve rewatched all of them countless times and they are so awesome! I can’t wait you are the reason I got into writing and the reason I continue to push myself I love your videos and this is gonna be incredible !!
Idk about Miles or Gwen popping up. That'd be cool, but I'd honestly rather spend more time talking about what's been going on with the Peters since their movies ended than explaining where these other spider people came from. Understand where you're coming from though. I also kinda hope the rumors about this sinister six being more like a collection of 5 (or potentially 4 if they knock Ock out or flip him back to the light earlier) are true so that we can do an honest to god true MCU sinister six at the end of the next trilogy of films. Maybe that REAL sinister six can kill peter and we can move over to Miles afterwards. And I don't get the sudden hate for the Tobey being Ben scenario. That sounds amazing I don't know who originally came up with that idea but it's a great one and I really hope they do it. Banger video Troy.
The ending scene you made for this prewrite is amazing. I have nothing to say except that it is spectacular. Honestly idk if I'm going to like no way home too. I love homecoming and it's neighborhood style threats. Spiderman wasn't about the spectacle, it was always about Peter's struggles. I seriously hope no way home is good and it would succeed. Thank you Troyo for this prewrite.
I think that the Uncle Ben scene would be spectacular to see, but looking at the direction of the movie, I think it would be pretty neat if Tobey as Spider-man does it. Just sitting on the roof with Tom before he leaves and he utters the famous classic line that we all know and love.
@@ImPapiJuancho Have fun with it, I honestly like his rewrite videos better than his prewrite ones since most of the rewrite videos have like a visual representation of the movie that he's rewriting (i.e sort of like a cardboard movie) while his prewrite ones are more or less rambling about stuff. His Justice League and TASM 2 rewrite videos is personally my favourite out of the rest.
I really love the ending of this Prewite. Peter well know that "With great power comes great Responsibility." He'll always get back up to fight for his love ones. And always be Spider man.
How’s this for a scene? A looter chucks a Molotov through the window inside Peter’s apartment and the building catches fire. Peter carries May to safety and hesitates on saving the Iron Spider suit too. But he rethinks the bad memories the suit brought him and leaves it behind. Then, in the post-credit scene, Aaron Davis is shown to have to Iron Spider suit and repaints it to more classic Prowler colors. Also, Miles Morales can cameo too. I’d have to fourth film be a Spider-Verse movie, but that’s just my pitch. (And fuck the Iron Spider suit, so here’s a better way to say to it “fuck you”)
The ending scene you created has me literally crying. That was the most well written endings and honestly a beautiful tribute to the rami film. Love your content and you always create the most interesting re writes. Keep doing what you’re doing :)
Well the reason Uncle Ben wasn’t mentioned before was because of the contract Sony gave Marvel to not talk about about him or Peters parents. But in the new contract they are giving Marvel the rights to do that (Uncle Ben was actually mentioned in Marvels’s What If on Disney+) so Uncle Ben may actually make an appearance
Looking back on this video i can see how he got so many things right; No Way Home was, indeed, a fan service movie, and this kinda proves it, but it was done right. They knew they had SO much to lose already; this felt like a last shot kind of project for spiderman, since Tom fought with Sony to get him in the MCU to finish the trilogy. it was truly epic, it had consequences and the stakes felt high, and they left Peter at a completely new instance of his life that we haven't seen yet on film; he's absolutely and completely alone. NO ONE knows who he is, not even the avengers, and it's basically a blank slate. It was emotional and incredibly crazy. I'm so excited to see where they go next. I hope they get a new director for a more mature and dramatic take on College Peter, even if we have to wait til 2025 for a new story.
The spider-Gwen / venom Garfield thing is cool but you have to remember they have to fit everything in less then 3 hours especially with all the villain stories and stuff, it’s just very difficult to do. Love the idea though.
I will be very surprised if it’s genuinely a narratively compelling masterpiece, I’m mainly just expecting a good theater experience at this point and it looks like it will deliver on that front
SPOILERS what would've been funny is if when Tobey Andrew and Tom talk abt stuff they've fought and shit is they ask (might be a bit random) what's their funniest joke or something and Tobey references pizza time and Andrew tells one of his and in a future movie Tom can use it like he was inspired by one of his brothers :)
while I agree with "anyone can wear the mask", that isn't the point of Tom's Spiderman right now. He still is earning wearing the mask, he's still focusing on him. We need focus on Tom, not the idea of Spider-man. Bringing in a bunch of new spider-people when ours is so underdeveloped Will clog the movie imo
call me crazy but I find it really hard to believe people hating Spider-Man, an Avenger, the guy who helped save the universe.... if they made solo films heck even one film between Homecoming and Infinity War they could've built people divided over friendly neighborhood Spider-Man
man you like lowkey nailed that bingo card…one addition i wouldve lowkey loved is having miles come thru the spider verse in like an animated style and he gets morphed into live action especially after what dr strange did
The “we should be steady and give up the thing we want most” line should have been in the film, it would have been perfect for when Tom’s Peter sacrifices his identity
It's funny how you said Aunt May wouldn't die. I didn't even care when she did. And I'm much happier we saw Tobey and Andrew instead of Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy.
I think one of the things that people found out recently was that Uncle Ben was cut out from Homecoming and such due to Sony's choice and not Marvel which is why he was mention in What If since that was all Marvel. Looking forward to seeing what they do for the Spider-Man Freshman Year animated series which is a prequel to Peter first showing up in Civil War and his MCU movies.
7:59 Ok finally someone agrees with me about this. When I say that I'm offended Sony is trying to replicate the success of Into The Spiderverse with three Peter Parkers I mean, they're missing the whole point of what made Into The Spiderverse a great multiverse film.
it’d be even worse “replicating” if they were to use Miles and Spider-Gwen. No Way Home is at least different. so you’re saying any different live action Spider-Man movie would be missing the whole point and is just a replication? or could it be a new film with new messages. let’s wait til it comes out before saying it’s replicating Into the Spider-Verse and missing the point?
What I would love for this film: - Tobey being a mentor for Tom - Tobey telling Tom about Uncle Ben and “with great power, comes great responsibility” - Andrew saving MJ to reedem himself from Gwen Stacys Death - Tom loses the Iron Spider Suit and have to learn the basis of being Spiderman - Andrew showing us he can put some new depth and a fun/different take on the Spiderman character, that can teach Tom something new - Tobey being a badass and a stronger and more experienced Spiderman - Green Goblin wanting revenge on Tobey and interacting with Tobey - Post credit scene, setting Venom up as a future vilian or introducing the X-men or Morbius - Danny Elfmans Spiderman theme - Small fun references and quotes that poke fun and embraces the old Spiderman movies - Spiderman going back to not having his identity revealed - Some intense fights with ripped masks and Spiderman screaming in pain, no music - J. Jonah being himself and talking about Spiderman being a menace - Maybe a small flashback scene or montage showing us what happened afterwards in Tobey and Andrews universe
I have a love-hate relationship towards Tom and Andrew's Spider-Man just because it didn't gave us a shot of them with their masks ripped off just like Tobey's. I know it's a petty reason but it just looks so badass so when I saw the thumbnail I immediately clicked. Props man
Honestly, I wasn’t a big fan of Tom Holland at first either. I mean, I thought he was entertaining in Civil War and in Homecoming but because I grew up on the Raimi trilogy and I had my opinions on what I thought made the character great it barred me from being as hyped for him for awhile. I’d just come out of seeing how awful the Garfield franchise came out and I didn’t have a whole lot of hope that this was going to hold up beyond a few movies. Since then though, I’ve rewatched the movies multiple times and come around to really like Tom. I still don’t think he’s the best, but I think that has done well with the portrayal of the character. Mostly though... seeing this movie isn’t about Tom, admittedly I just want to see Tobey and Andrew. 🤷🏻♂️
Maybe I'm just burned out from a lot of the 'pretentious Spider-Man fanboy' discussions online (which I am a part of) but I really don't see the problem with the only other Spider-'Men' in this movie being Tobey and Andrew. 'Into the Spiderverse' was great at saying "Anyone can be Spider-Man", but I would still be just as happy with a film that talked about what it means to be 'Peter Parker', which is something that, as you pointed out, hasn't really been touched since the 90's. After all, the thing that connects Spider-Men are their courage, but I think what could really connect the Peter Parkers in this film are their sacrifices. In the second trailer we even see a cocky Tom Holland proclaim that he'll protect all the villains from their fate, something the other two Peter Parker's know can't happen. also just a fun idea, you mentioned one of the ways they could do sacrifice in a cool way would be for Tom to give up on his identity and reset everything, but what if the final scene has Tom glumly walking down the streets of New York, a new high-school graduate, only to see M.J across the street and the film cutting to black. Similar to the ending of Amazing Spider-Man, Tom has a choice- to keep the sacrifice he made, or to take it back and try to reconnect with the person he loves. idk maybe I'm just a hack fan who thinks bringing Miles and Gwen into this would be lame-
The idea that Peter Parker is Spider-Man isn't outdated and I can prove it in one point: We always say "Miles Morales Spider-Man" when we wanna talk about him. When we wanna talk about Peter Parker we default to calling him Spider-Man.
what if.. at the end of no way home, the spell is cast successfully and everyone forgets, including aunt may and happy, which in turn would sever his connection to stark, meaning we would get the classic broke and alone peter from the comics. this is probably wishful thinking but it’s cool.
I think that Tom thinking that tobey looking like uncle Ben makes sense cause the original flash,(dc hero) actor was in the CW flash tv series, playing the current flash's,( Grant Gustin) dad. He also plays his version of flash from the original tv series, communicating with grant Gustin's flash. It's really confusing to grant Gustin's flash cause the original flash looks like his dad. So, in mcu universe, Tobey is uncle Ben to tom Holland, while in Tobey's universe, Tobey is Spider-man.
I feel like introducing the Spider-Men/Women that aren't Peter would...fall flat? Without them having been introduced prior, their appearances wouldn't work too well. The reason it worked in Spider-verse is because everyone got backstories explained. This movie does NOT have time or room for that. It barely has room for the amount of villains it has.
I can’t express enough if I don’t enjoy this movie, I can’t see myself truly enjoying another MCU Spider-Man film again, it’d feel broken, incomplete and if Tobey or Andrew are treated as a gag that they have similar costumes and Tobey says something stupid and Andrew calls him out on that I’d just be done They need to have all three Peter Parker’s to a tee, especially Tom. If I find myself losing interest in the second half I’d be genuinely sad, I couldn’t bring myself to look at Spider-Man the same way again if they manage to fuck up all three of them in just 2 and a half hours.
I think there’s a rumor that Sony is doing there own Sinister 6 and this will only be 5 villains Makes sense since you got Vulture Scorpion Shocker Morbius Kraven (the last 2 getting their own movies) Idk who the last will be Rhino? Mr Negative since FEAST is in NWH? Mysterio? Idk
Even as someone who's enjoyed the mcu spidey films and appearances, I really want this movie to end in a place where peter is all alone and literally no one (and i mean no aunt may, no mj or any other avenger) knows he is spider-man. You can't do an adult peter right with this current iteration because he has to end up as a billionaire or at least with billionaire tech which does not fit the working-class parker who is struggling to make rent and get by that i love so much. Fingers crossed this a a kind of farewell to that version of spider-man by having this grandiose spectacal before being plunged into a warped reality (or whatever happens at the end of this or doctor strange 2)
Judging from Doc Ock stealing the nanites, Electro having an arc reactor on his chest, and the leaks about a giant arc reactor being the mcguffin, looks like we're basing the movie around Stark again
Very good video bro! I just discord about the part of the multiverse, bring Milles and Gwen would't add nothing to the history, it would only be a nice fanservice. The plot is about the Tom version learn about responsability, no one better to convoy this message than older versions of himself.

I agree, we have so many spider people in the new spider verse sequel so I’d be happy if this is just a Peter centric one
I think they should put a cameo of Gwen and/or Miles
I feel you can have it both ways, have a post credits scene where Miguel O’Hara recruits Tom’s Peter for Across The Spider-Verse, but just have the main movie be Tobey, Andrew, and Tom
Really good prewrite, yet for some reason I have a lot of faith NWH's going to be good. The only real way I can see them ruining it is if he ends with his identity not being a secret. Apparently Raimi and Webb were brought in as consultants on Tobey and Andrew's roles in the movie
Wait really? If so that’s great! They know those versions of Spidey in and out
Same thoughts as you my man!
They should’ve had Raimi shoot some scenes in the Tobey universe, like how’s he’s been living before he crosses the portal.

Bringing in miles and Gwen would be possibly the worst thing to do. Why bring in these two characters with no backstory when there’s two perfectly good spiderman than already exist in live action that we have context for.
That was where he lost me too but I liked the Uncle Ben stuff
Ya, that was a really stupid decision, and glad he didn't touch the movie, because he would've ruined it.
I disagree as bringing in Miles and Gwen would be a great way to start their own films so they’re in the MCU

Yes!!! They need to do that.
yes! that would be amazing i am really hoping thats the direction they go in.

I need a talk that reminds the Civil War scene when peter say the line that he said in a dialogue with Andrew and Tobey
Peter is at his low, and he's afraid that the things he's done at that point will hurt more people and then tobey would say that he learned something with his mistakes since the first, when he let a thief run away, the same one took "uncle ben" they say together, and then Peter would say the phrase and tobey complete it saying "With great power, comes great responsability"
This would make Peter stand up and finally accept totally the thing he's tried to let in the past, even thought he couldnt: the death of his uncle
Here from the future to say that Tobey was done better than I would’ve imagined in the movie
Nice pfp bro
I don't know why we would have Donald Glover playing Miles though. He's not Miles. He did reference his nephew though, which lines up more with Miles' story, along with the fact that Donald is literally buying weapons for shady stuff. It only makes sense that he would become a masked villain and have his nephew counter him like in into the spiderverse.
It would have been cool if after Tom says "I don't know how to do it alone"
Tobey says "You know, I believe one person can make a difference."
I think that would be a cool way too reference Stan Lee in a Spider-Man movie.

THANK. GOD. Tobey wasn´t presented as Uncle Ben
I know, but what if in some moment MCU Spider-Man said that Tobey Spider-Man kinda looks like MCU Spidey's uncle
Where do you get the time...
Man predicted a good part of the movie
Happy to disprove some of your predictions after seeing the movie, like it being bad fan service, which it wasn’t.

Bro the hyphen was always there in the MCU movies. Look back on posters
"Ben puts his hand on a crying peter" you couldn't think of a better way to say that?
Respect your opinion
I think using Tobey and Andrew just makes sense. Outside of the whole nostalgia thing, they're live action Spider-Man films with fleshed out stories. To have them come over to Tom's universe and pass on their knowledge would just be great in my opinion.

For somebody who loves MCU's Spider-Man and think he's a more down-to-earth take on the character that relates a lot to his humanity:
I too, have my doubts of this movie, the same as you.

I started getting emotional when u did ur tobey and tom scene 😢 that was beautiful, we need that
If someone dies, then it better not be Aunt May.
And I absolutely agree that people should just learn that opinions are just opinions (even though that it’s still gonna get people in a frenzy regardless)
With that being said, I’m not really a big fan of the idea of having spider Gwen and Miles introduced towards the end because I would honestly rather keep them separate from the into the spider verse films. Also, I really hope he decides to keep his identity a secret is a good way to close off his character journey. All in all, good video!

I think that the Uncle Ben scene would be spectacular to see, but looking at the direction of the movie, I think it would be pretty neat if Tobey as Spider-man does it. Just sitting on the roof with Tom before he leaves and he utters the famous classic line that we all know and love.

(And fuck the Iron Spider suit, so here’s a better way to say to it “fuck you”)
Oh shit that's a cool idea
Is that molotov through the window scene a reference to hawkeye?
I like the idea of Prowler having the Iron Spider that’s cool
Pretty much all of your concerns with this movie that were completely valid were not issues with the final film.
The ending scene you created has me literally crying. That was the most well written endings and honestly a beautiful tribute to the rami film. Love your content and you always create the most interesting re writes. Keep doing what you’re doing :)
Boys he's not gonna like my movie lmao 😂
💀
Jon just don’t fuck up Tobey and we’re good
the first bit was almost perfect
Anyone else be like he got the start like, basically perfect....
HOW THE HELL DID YOU GUESS HALF THE MOVIE
The spider-Gwen / venom Garfield thing is cool but you have to remember they have to fit everything in less then 3 hours especially with all the villain stories and stuff, it’s just very difficult to do. Love the idea though.
I will be very surprised if it’s genuinely a narratively compelling masterpiece, I’m mainly just expecting a good theater experience at this point and it looks like it will deliver on that front
SPOILERS
what would've been funny is if when Tobey Andrew and Tom talk abt stuff they've fought and shit is they ask (might be a bit random) what's their funniest joke or something and Tobey references pizza time and Andrew tells one of his and in a future movie Tom can use it like he was inspired by one of his brothers :)
That would been amazing and good kind of fan service
return to form? do you mean back to formula
BACK TO FORMULA?!
Wow…a bunch of points in this video aged extremely well
That end scene you wrote made me tear up. I don't care that it was lines from spiderman 2. It was beautiful.
while I agree with "anyone can wear the mask", that isn't the point of Tom's Spiderman right now. He still is earning wearing the mask, he's still focusing on him. We need focus on Tom, not the idea of Spider-man. Bringing in a bunch of new spider-people when ours is so underdeveloped Will clog the movie imo
plus we already have miles in our universe, and Gwen can appear later. We can have them later imo
call me crazy but I find it really hard to believe people hating Spider-Man, an Avenger, the guy who helped save the universe.... if they made solo films heck even one film between Homecoming and Infinity War they could've built people divided over friendly neighborhood Spider-Man
man you like lowkey nailed that bingo card…one addition i wouldve lowkey loved is having miles come thru the spider verse in like an animated style and he gets morphed into live action especially after what dr strange did
The “we should be steady and give up the thing we want most” line should have been in the film, it would have been perfect for when Tom’s Peter sacrifices his identity
This movie might actually revive theaters. People will go back for the first time and realize they’re okay with it
Man the tears were flowing after that beautiful motion script. Amazing work as always dude!
What I would love for this film:
- Tobey being a mentor for Tom
- Tobey telling Tom about Uncle Ben and “with great power, comes great responsibility”
- Andrew saving MJ to reedem himself from Gwen Stacys Death
- Tom loses the Iron Spider Suit and have to learn the basis of being Spiderman
- Andrew showing us he can put some new depth and a fun/different take on the Spiderman character, that can teach Tom something new
- Tobey being a badass and a stronger and more experienced Spiderman
- Green Goblin wanting revenge on Tobey
and interacting with Tobey
- Post credit scene, setting Venom up as a future vilian or introducing the X-men or Morbius
- Danny Elfmans Spiderman theme
- Small fun references and quotes that poke fun and embraces the old Spiderman movies
- Spiderman going back to not having his identity revealed
- Some intense fights with ripped masks and Spiderman screaming in pain, no music
- J. Jonah being himself and talking about Spiderman being a menace
- Maybe a small flashback scene or montage showing us what happened afterwards in Tobey and Andrews universe
Spoilers: No full bingo line
I don’t care what happens as long as uncle Ben actually has some importance and peters identity goes back to being a secret
And he says fuck
Bro the uncle ben part make me cry Lice Good DAM
YEA BABY THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITINV FOR
bro the amount of shit you predicted is insane
When we wanna talk about Peter Parker we default to calling him Spider-Man.
what if.. at the end of no way home, the spell is cast successfully and everyone forgets, including aunt may and happy, which in turn would sever his connection to stark, meaning we would get the classic broke and alone peter from the comics. this is probably wishful thinking but it’s cool.
lol
you got your wish bro
Why the hell do you not have 100k subs, its honestly mindblowing how underrated you are, Keep up the great work.
May.............. is died.
Disney is so concerned with making a product they can market that they're afraid to make a character who can inspire.
I can’t express enough if I don’t enjoy this movie, I can’t see myself truly enjoying another MCU Spider-Man film again, it’d feel broken, incomplete and if Tobey or Andrew are treated as a gag that they have similar costumes and Tobey says something stupid and Andrew calls him out on that I’d just be done
They need to have all three Peter Parker’s to a tee, especially Tom. If I find myself losing interest in the second half I’d be genuinely sad, I couldn’t bring myself to look at Spider-Man the same way again if they manage to fuck up all three of them in just 2 and a half hours.
I think there’s a rumor that Sony is doing there own Sinister 6 and this will only be 5 villains
Makes sense since you got Vulture Scorpion Shocker Morbius Kraven (the last 2 getting their own movies) Idk who the last will be Rhino? Mr Negative since FEAST is in NWH? Mysterio? Idk
I can careless about people’s opinions, I just really enjoy hearing people talk about Spider-Man, negative or positive.
Looking forward to your post-watch thoughts.
