Why isn’t Star Wars on here?! It’s the best movie sound track ever! Though I do agree with LOTR, Dune, and Jurasic Park being highly ranked. And OK the Lion King music is great. But come on! Star Wars is just so iconic!
This perfectly explains why both Hans Zimmer and John Williams are my favorite film composers of all time. From The Lion King, Inception, Jurassic Park, and many more. Those guys knows how to create tracks to makes us feel multiple emotions by just listening to it. They’re both legendary artists for their masterpieces.
Lord of the Rings music is truly beautiful. Howard Shore’s music makes us feel like we’re in The Shire, Rivendell, Erebor, Moria, Rohan, Gondor, and Mordor.
I love the films. They are my favorite trilogy of all time. But, I listen to the soundtracks more than I even watch the movies. Everything about LOTR is great!
Disneys Hunchback of Notre Dame the whole score Transformers Arrival to earth Kung Fu Panda 2 the Scene where Po remembers his past How to train your dragon: the flight scene with Hiccup and Toothless And Dragonheart the fight against Einons Army and the end to the stars. These are some of my most favorite scores.
I could make the case that this entire list could be John Williams. The symphony in my city always does a John Williams movie every year where the movie is shown but all the music is done by the symphony. It’s amazing! I always go! This year it’s Empire Strikes back and Return of the Jedi! They’re doing two!
Godzilla Minus One's soundtrack has some chilling yet awesome music tracks. Whenever I heard the Godzilla theme play when I saw it in the theater, I got chills and goosebumps all over my arms. Nostalgia and fear hitting me all at once. Gotta love the music in Godzilla movies.
How did you forget to put The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe on this list????? Mr Tumnus' lullaby is the first time I knew what it meant to have chills as a seven year old. That score is amazing and deserved a spot on this list.
Lion King, Jurassic Park, LOTR and The Dark Knight have awesome soundtracks and always gets pumped and massive chills ❤️❤️ Same goes for The Star Wars Soundtrack which they could have least mentioned on the list.
you should distinguish between song scores and dramatic scores. ET warrants a damn sight more than an honorable mention. You've noticed the 20th century, but not nearly far enough back. WUTHERING HEIGHTS (1939), OUR TOWN (and damn near every Copland score), THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER, MIDNIGHT EXPRESS
Star Wars, The Last of the Mohicans, Jaws, Harry Potter, The Good The Bad and The Ugly,Raiders of the Lost Ark, Schindlers List, Forrest Gump, Pirates of the Caribbean, How to Train Your Dragon, Apollo 13, Braveheart, Saving Private Ryan, Dances with Wolves, and so many more, honestly this could have been a top 50.
Nice list, but I miss some movie soundtracks: - Star Wars - Blade Runner - Zack Snyder's Justice League (at the speed of force) - Terminator 2 (one of the best opening ever) - Conan the Barbarian (1982 version) - The good, the bad, and the ugly
This video really sums up how unique and creative Hans Zimmer is when making scores for many films across time and space. I’m also glad that they included John Williams since he too made memorable scores for Indiana Jones, Star Wars, The Adventures of Tintin and of course, Jurassic Park. This one hits me very deeply in my heart because I attended a live orchestral concert performed by the legendary HZ himself last Sunday night. From there, he did most of the scores mentioned here in this take; with Man of Steel some time after it began, Gladiator about to reach the intermission before doing Pirates of the Caribbean, Dune mixing in between segments of the whole thing, Inception being the encore and last but not least, The Lion King as the finisher since not only this was the film that earned him his first Academy Award but also commemorate 30 years of it. It was glorious. What really switched my tune real quick is when James Earl Jones passing away the very next day. I knew that he was very old but I never imagined that he was on his deathbed on the greatest night of my life. 😔 Nevertheless, it was truly an unforgettable experience that I will always carry til the day that I too join him in the grave. Your question for what score stood out for me the most was for the film Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, a Dreamworks movie done by you-know-who. 😉 You also left out the scores made by Michael Giacchino, Danny Elfman, Alan Menken and the one who I consider to be very close to the GOAT is none other than Ludwig Göransson. Food for thought. 💭
The Prince Of Egypt, The Lion King and Gladiator has always been my favorite movies for many reasons all because Hans Zimmer really delivers an powerful soundtrack.
I was disappointed that The Lord of The Rings didn’t take the number one spot. But the film that did being The Lion King, I was more happy with. And The Lion King is the film that started my childhood.
Anyone who doesn't put The Lord of the Rings at Number 1 was clearly looking at their phone when watching the movies. There's a reason it's been voted the "greatest movie soundtrack of all time!! After LOTR anything Hans Zimmer composes is EPIC...the man is a genius!! Nice to see The Prince of Egypt get some love. Pirates of the Caribbean should have got a mention too though. Surprised Star Wars wasn't on the list. Not my favourite movies, but Luke's theme is a beautifully composed piece.
Pirates of the Caribbean- Hans Zimmer Interstellar- Hans Zimmer Star Trek (2009)- Michael Gacchino (I think I spelled his last name wrong; but Labor of Love is phenomenal)
I would classify most of these as Scores vs Soundtracks, but either way here are some gems I think they need for List two. They were absolutely right with Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park, Gladiator and Lion King but how about some love for: Last of the Mohicans, Empire Strikes Back, Braveheart, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Pirates of the Caribbean, Titanic, How to Train your Dragon, The Rock, Starman, Interstellar, Jaws, Kung Fu Panda, Avengers: Endgame...
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s soundtrack was incredible! Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL!! Black Panther:Wakanda Forever’s soundtrack was fantastic thanks to Ludwig Goransson!! And Hans Zimmer once again showing offffff on the Wonder Woman 1984 soundtrack!!❤❤
Defintely missing Basil Pouledoris' "Conan the Barbarian" and "The Hunt for Red October". Or "Das Boot"... Miklos Rosza's "El Cid" also should be on this list somewhere. And where's James Horner? Aliens, Star Trek - The Wrath of Khan and Braveheart would easily qualify.
Most of the ones on this list are also on mine, but there is one in particular I’d add to it, and that would be Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The one thing everybody agrees on with that movie is just how perfect the soundtrack is, and there are several tracks that will send that ant stampede down your spine. In particular, there’s the emotional “Goodbye Old Friend” followed by the triumphant powerhouse take on Godzilla’s theme in “Rebirth”, as well as the new themes written for King Ghidorah and Rodan. The instrumental soundtrack is both beautiful and primeval, evoking both the darkness of pure evil and the return of the balance from the forgotten past. On top of that, it also has the best version of “Godzilla” you will ever hear to serve as the cherry on the sundae. Whatever opinion you may have about the movie, the soundtrack is nothing short of a masterpiece.
I watched this whole thing assuming Star Wars was #1. Um... WHAT?! I'd say Lion King was a honorable message and Star Wars #1. Then your list is pretty good. lol
Danny elfmam spiderman, batman, beetlejuice. Alan silberstri avengers should be at 2 And star wars shouod be at 1 Where is indiana and harry potter or the last samurai
the imperial march star wars chilling and darth vader's entrance also chilling john williams for home alone the creepy nite prowler the theme to the wet bandits or any other but steven spielberg also has chilling including the JAWS theme also very chilling my dad's a conductor so he does a lot of these works for his job I find that amazing broadway legend stephen sondheim for into the woods def
The Granddaddy of ALL epic movies is the score from 1959's BEN-HUR, by Miklos Rozsa, which is just about ALL spine-tinglers. It's as awe and chills-inspiring today as it ever was.
Great list but you should add the greats like Ennio Morricone and Henry Mancini… “The Mission”, “Pink Panther”, “Dr. Zhivago”, “Year of Living Dangerously”, “Chariots of Fire”
Jurassic Park's theme song sounds like an elegant wedding march. I know it sounds silly to think of dinosaurs and wedding bells, but if you didn't know it was a dino theme song, it could easily pass in such a formal occasion.
Oh great. Lion King's number one on a non-Disney list. Which means it's at the top spot on yet another list by Mojo. You guys just won't stop pandering and conforming to popular opinion, will you? 🤦♀
For me a good soundtrack will invoke the images and scenes from the movie just by playing the music. So to this list I would add: The good the bad and the ugly Conan the Barbarian Last ot the Mohicans Quigley down under The Wind and the LIon Downton Abbey - A new Era
Let me guess . . . the person who complied this list is a huge fan of Hans Zimmer. How is it that ET only made honorable mention? Let's be real. John Williams is in a class all by himself. He, along with Alan Menken, is a master of leitmotifs. Speaking of Menken and films of the Disney persuasion, while the score to The Lion King is incredible, people tend to overlook the Hunchback of Notre Dame, one of Menken's finest scores. Also missing from the list: Beauty and the Beast (Menken) The Mission (Ennio Morricone) Cinema Paradiso (Morricone) Willow (James Horner) Braveheart (Horner) Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (Michael Kamen) Mr. Holland's Opus (Kamen) Forrest Gump (Alan Silvestri)
Hans Zimmer and John Willams are the kings of film scores
John Williams is one of my favourite composers of all time, his scores really elevate the story, and make them come to life. ❤
Why isn’t Star Wars on here?! It’s the best movie sound track ever! Though I do agree with LOTR, Dune, and Jurasic Park being highly ranked. And OK the Lion King music is great. But come on! Star Wars is just so iconic!
They just ranked Hans Zimmer fr 💀🤣
They need to change the title lmao.
Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter
Yes!! And
Superman (1978), The Godfather, Indiana Jones
(And a personal favorite- Bram Stoker's Dracula)
This perfectly explains why both Hans Zimmer and John Williams are my favorite film composers of all time.

One of the greatest voices in movie history!
I can't believe the original Star Wars trilogy isn't on here.
Disneys Hunchback of Notre Dame the whole score
Transformers Arrival to earth
Kung Fu Panda 2 the Scene where Po remembers his past
How to train your dragon: the flight scene with Hiccup and Toothless
And Dragonheart the fight against Einons Army and the end to the stars. These are some of my most favorite scores.
HELLFIRE!, HELLFIRE! 😂😂
@@Jonas023Ak-47 it's a song from the movie, not the score 😅
I'm happy to see The Prince of Egypt get its due recognition.
The Lord of the Rings soundtrack always makes me goosebumps.
The Spider-Man was my childhood.
Hans Zimmer and John Williams are my absolute favorite composers.

The Hunger Games, Interstellar, The Village (don’t come at me lol), Hook, Pride and Prejudice (2005), Moon, Annhilation.
“The Lion King”, “The Lord of the Rings”, and “The Prince of Egypt” all rank among my top favorite soundtracks!
Yes, Yes, and Yes!
The last few Harry Potter movies and Alexandre Desplat have me some chills when I got into it.
Titanic?
The Lion in Winter 🎶🎵1968, Glory 1989 and Moby Dick 1956 . are wonderful to listen to also🥇🥇🥇🥇
Nice list, but I miss some movie soundtracks:
- Star Wars

Oh, "The Lion King" definetly has the best soundtrack! 🎶🎵🎼
I still can't believe that it's already been 30 years since it arrived....
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
The Breakfast Club
Star Wars
Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Prince Of Egypt, The Lion King and Gladiator has always been my favorite movies for many reasons all because Hans Zimmer really delivers an powerful soundtrack.
What about Star Wars, Harry Potter and Rocky?
Many of those scores were played by Hans Zimmer. This sir is a master music! His soundtracks always give chills!
The Lion King is great but greater than LOTR!? This should have been a top 20 list!
True on both accounts
I was disappointed that The Lord of The Rings didn’t take the number one spot. But the film that did being The Lion King, I was more happy with. And The Lion King is the film that started my childhood.
15:56 RIP Robin Williams.
Happy sunday morning, Jen, take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia to you as well.
We really just gonna skip past Oppenheimer, Empire Strikes Back, Joker, and How to Train Your Dragon!
The Jurrasic Pa4l theme always makes me want 5o cry. The Phantom of the Opera theme, movie or stage play, gives me chills every time.
Speaking of No. 1, Rest In Paradise James Earl Jones A.K.A. The Voice of Mufasa
My personal favorite: The Last of the Mohicans
Expected on the list but wasn't there: Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars
I can't believe y'all skipped Star Wars! 😢
Nice list; however, I feel like the Pirates of the Caribbean, Avengers: Endgame, National Treasure, and Titanic should have been included, too.
Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Movies are the best Dune adaptations I’ve ever seen.
Poor Things, Midsommar, Gravity soundtracks all give the chills.
Not even an honourable mention for Star Wars or Avatar? How absurd.

For me, “The Lion King”, “The Prince of Egypt” and “ The Lord of the Rings” are the holy trinity of most EPIC soundtracks 👍
Yes!
STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR WARS. Seriously, I'm offended.
Out of Africa - John Barry
Dances With Wolves - John Barry
Empire of the Sun - John Williams

The fact that Star Wars isn’t #1 or even on here, is a war crime. I’m genuinely baffled this travesty was allowed to occur.
