This video is AMAZING! I needed a saw for simple projects and repairs and purchased a DeWalt. But I rarely used it because I didn’t feel comfortable with it. I was looking for video on loading blades and am so glad I watched the entire video! I can’t wait to use all the things I learned from you; you are a great instructor: you taught this 72 year old nurse and grandmother how to rock her saw!!
Was just gifted one, and had never used a sawsall. I was concerned I didn’t insert blade properly. It didn’t go I very far, and had some play. Your video cleared up my questions.
Thank you. I could not figure out how to install a blade on my DCS380. They got so cute with disguising that release lever that it looks like it is just a badge.
Thanks great video.. I have the 380 and I did not realize the blade can be installed sideways in it.. just what I needed to do.. got yourself a new sub ..
Can you show me how to open the container the other blades are in please? I have tried and tried and it just won’t open, I don’t want to break it, bought it for a gift.
This is great thanks, but I didn't see how loose the blade was after you inserted it and folded the lock back into place. I just got a new saw and the blades are very loose, like if I insert it upright (teeth down), after locking it in place, I can still move the blade up and down. I saw you moved yours in a little then out. But is the vertical movement supposed to be so dramatic? I'd say it has maybe a half inch of movement.
I'm having one hell of a time trying to open my "tough case" for the saw blades. I watched a different video where the guy was reviewing the blade set that comes with the case and his just popped right open. Is there some trick to getting it to open?
I just purchased the DeWalt 380B saw. I was using a diamond blade then needed to change the blade to a wood blade. I can only insert it in the horizontal way and I can't get it in to be vertical as I was using the Diamond blade. I have tried so many times to insert it . I purchased DeWalt 5 pk, 12", 6TPI, The model of the package of the blades are DW4804. What could be the reason I can't insert this blade vertically, so the blade is either UP or Down? This should not be so difficult. Also, what is the button used for on the other side of the clamp to lock a blade in. It seems the area where I attach the blade can go more inward into the saw, almost making the blade shorter. Would you explain that button please?
The model in the video only allows vertical and not horizontal. If yours does both but won’t let you, it may be the blade itself that isn’t designed to do both for some reason. Otherwise, make sure there is no battery or power and verify nothing is stuck down in the chuck. Perhaps some grease on the blade or compressed air could be helpful
Just got the 380 model and was curious about the blade fit. I bought the Dewalt blades. It locked in but seemed to be more side to side movement then I would think. Is that normal?
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Here are some more videos I made just like it if you’re interested! ruclips.net/p/PLIjr-uSYDZi5pChZYgD2fXqAq5OaKrW8s

Needed to see how to connect the blade. Thank you 🙏🏽
Thanks for the attention to the car details in the background. We have to have these tools to get back to time with our cars.
4 minutes in to install blade. Thanks DJ!
very good, thanks. just borrowed this from my brother to cut some branches.
Should have watched this before I read the manual. Much clearer. Thank you!!
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Of course the owners manual is still a great resource to see
Thank you! Very helpful tutorial.
Cheers mate. Couldn't work out how to get blade in. Helpful. Regards from York England.

Thanks for letting me know about this project,it is very important, I'm saving all my fingers, get it?
Great tool review man. I love dewalt stuff👌👌👌👌

It is definitely loose when installed.

I do recall it being difficult to pop open, but it does open. Maybe with a screw driver ti help pry it, but be careful abs wear gloves

You have to press the button in on the other side then pull out turn and put back in, then insert the blade.
Hey Danny is the 381 and a 381 type 1 is the housing the same can you interchange the housing
Yeah I want to buy a housing for my 381 type 1 and the housing is 381 does it make a difference both 20 volt
Sorry, I don't know enough about them to say if you can interchange pieces.
Is there difference in the black blade?

It seemed to me the blades are a bit wobbly when installed
Nice, thorough explanation. Thank you.

I very much appreciate this video.
Great 👍
Great video. You need to work for DeWalt. Their directions...aren't. They are terrible.
Great video but could be a bit more concise. Still helped though
I find it best to just remove the blade after each use.
That’s a great idea and the blades even come with their own carrying case.
Thank you.
Drink every time he tells you about the battery
Jesus loves you God bless
Thank you.
Thank you!
