    Nicely done video. Surprised how well the old brushed one did. Had me convinced for a bit there to go that direction until I watched to the end. I think the weight and getting into tight spaces is a pretty big advantage for the XR compact, plus reciprocating saws really eat batteries.

      Dark Giraffe,
      You're the person I'd like to ask about this then, if that's ok? I'm an electrical apprentice.
      I'm interested in the Dewalt compact recip. Do you think it could be used one handed to cut EMT (and other pipe, etc.) with?
      Because I'm also considering the Milwaukee M12 Hackzall, and that seems to be an easy one handed use.
      Thank for any input and experience you can share.

      I've done the same. I have two bags of batteries and not one cord. It's so much better without the cord. Dewalt has really stepped it up. Cordless used to be for quick little jobs. Knick make stuff. It was a joke really. Not anymore. I run a whole job without a cord. I love my DeWalt tools. As you know they aren't cheap. I've vested at least 20k in the cordless line and I don't regret it for one second.

    I'm trying to decide on something for use as an electrical apprentice. I like the features of the Dewalt compact recip. But I'm also looking at the Milwaukee M12 Hackzall.
    I've heard on some other review/test channels that the Dewalt compact recip. is pretty unwieldy; lots of vibration given it's power and light weight/small size. What do you think? I'm also wondering if it could be used one handed to cut EMT etc.
    Thank you.

    • @toolrev
      @toolrev  5 лет назад +2

      The Dewalt 20 volt compact has a lot of vibration. I haven't tested it against the 12 volt Milwaukee but from what I've seen the Milwaukee looks better for one handed cutting. I'd get both and return one.

    • @circle4922
      @circle4922 5 лет назад +1

      I think I meant to say the M*18* Hackzall (18v) - and the Fuel version at that.
      I think I've seen some trades guys using cordless recip. saws to various pipe/emt with one hand, while holding the pipe with the other hand... I think...
      I tried to hold the milwaukee cordless fuel recip. today at the store with one hand and it was pretty front heavy, haha. But laying on the work (emt. for eg.) would mean you're not exactly holding all the weight up with that one hand.
      Thanks.

    Good review...upgrade to 12ah batteries..there worth it.... flexvolt tools are unmatched except the sawzall, it's ok..but Milwaukee super sawzall is best..the Makita avt is good...love the compact for quick jobs

    The smoothest operation of almost any recip saw is the older Ridgid GenX-4. When I demonstrate Milwaukee Fuel VS Ridgid GenX-4 everyone is shocked by how much quieter, smoother and so much less vibration with the Ridgid. Milwaukee fuel by comparison almost vibrates out of your hands and is so noisy you need hearing protection. With tools the excess noise and vibration is wasted energy, sucking the battery down faster.
