Guys, you need to make the "Be prepared" and the "Out there" songs from beginning to end. I got chills. All of you are phenomenally talented. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G
Disney Showstoppers medley was released around the same time as the Disney Princess Medley, and that was a good one featuring the guys as well. But LOVE love this as well!
0:00 “Friends on the Other Side” from “Princess and the Frog” 1:12 “Go the Distance” from “Hercules” 2:13 “The Mob Song” from “Beauty and the Beast” 3:05 “A Whole New World” from “Aladdin” 4:15 “Be Prepared” from “The Lion King” 5:24 “Out There” from “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”
Wow!! That last note was around 20 seconds.....on one breath.....Such good breath control and a master of his craft. He knows exactly how to breath and effortlessly hold that perfect note like it's no big deal.
Yeah, it's basically been tradition in Opera for centuries so it makes sense that Disney has usually followed the trend. Hero/lover = tenor, villain/mentor/father = bass haha
@@fezzik7619 although to someone who hasn't encountered that trope in previous Disney films, opera, or musical theater, seeing it for the first time, I see how it would seem like a stroke of genius. I didn't mean to gatekeep with my earlier comment.
@@MusicalJackknife You beat me to pointing this out lol. To finish the voice types: Soprano is always the female lead and the alto is usually the maid XD
That last note...holding a straight note that long without any kind of vibrato, staying so insanely stable....almost like an organ, but with the timber of brass...that's NUTS. Utterly nuts.
Karl being an absolute KING with that last bass note in Friends On The Other Side..... Wow...... Kurt's Be Prepared was perfection... I'm still not over EJ... Gurls sounding beauuuutiful... Jamie absolutely adorable... I just love you ALL!
My uncontrolled fangirl instant reaction no one asked for 😂 1. Karl is a freak, and I mean that with all the love and amazement in the world. I’m shook every time I hear it. 2. I love a Jamey solo, and come on. Are you kidding me? Jamey is a star. 2. KURT! 🤣🤣🤣👏🏻👏🏻 3. Drew is one of those people that can smile with his eyes and I love it. 4. Tiffany is always so animated and happy and I am here for it. 5. Both of EJ’s suits 🤩 6. Aaron’s hair is serving just as much as his performance is. 7. EJ’s “That’s right, I did THAT” face at the end. Yes you did, yes you freaking did. 😱 8. Prince of Egypt Medley music video next?! 😍🙏🏻
@@liliantan2379 they've done the medley already, it's on the Broadway and Main Street Vol. 2 album! But they haven't done a music video for it yet... Fingers crossed! 🤞🏾☺️
This is incredible! So much hard work, talent and emotion! The low note at 0:58 gave me chills, and the ending of Out There (one of my favourite Disney songs) was so beautiful. I NEED full versions of all of these asap!
Out There was everything I’d every dreamed it could be! The whole thing was absolutely amazing and built in true musical anticipation. Thank you so much for this!
Right????? They should totally record the entire song. Masterfully portrayed and sung by the soloist. WOW. It's my favorite Disney song. So much emotion!!!!!
I saw Voctave’s spring show and they did both the women’s Princess Medley and the Men’s Villain/Heroes medley. Both were so fantastic I was beside myself. The arrangements are just brilliant and the singing was unmatched. Thanks, Voctave, for everything.
EJ is UNREAL! He's only the third person I've seen pull off a sustained belt like that. The first was a man by the name of Dylan Saunders. He's, probably, most well known for his work with a Theater Company called Team Starkid. The second was Mark Lowry who sang "Mary Did You Know?" with Voctave. And now EJ. Well done EJ and all of Voctave! You guys don't miss!
Holy crap the ending I got total chills!!!! I love how all of your soloists can rock their own lead part and then slip right back in to blend effortlessly with he group. We sang one of your coversa couple years ago - these arrangements are amazing! Just intricate harmonies and just... Wow. You could cover each of these songs and do a whole album.❤❤❤
Yes yes yes....my 11 yo son has been waiting all day for this to come out! He loves this song and it has been his favorite since we got the CD over 2 years ago and since we saw Voctave in Concert of October 2021. Loved the characterizations!
Loved getting to see Jamey and EJ do a reprise of the verses they did with Rachel Potter, it's one of my favorite videos on RUclips! Great work as always to Voctave!
The bass singer in the first song ... wow, what a great voice and such a charming stage presence. Wonderful job, everyone! Loved everything about this video.
Nice choice on "The Mob Song" for Gaston. Most people use "Gaston" in these types of medleys, but I think your choice highlights his villainy much better.
I love it! Giving the guys a chance to show off their Disney side! It was everything I hoped it would be! So great to see you guys show so much character. Loved EJ's face at 6:54: "Yeah, I just held that note...what of it?" 😆
One of my favorite arrangements that Voctave does! I am so glad I got to see them perform this live in Danville, Ky this year! They sound just as incredible live as on recording! Will always be a fan of Voctave...
The last note and background vocals will bring tears to your eyes. It did, mine. E.J. held that note for *_NINETEEN_* seconds, *_BUT..._* the beginning of that note is *_NOT_* where he takes his last breath. He belted that final part for some *_TWENTY EIGHT_* seconds (6:25 to 6:53). 0:00 “Friends on the Other Side” - Karl Hudson as Dr. Facilier, the Villain from “Princess and the Frog” 1:12 “Go the Distance” - Jamey Ray as Hercules, the Hero from “Hercules” 2:13 “The Mob Song” - Aaron Stratton as Gaston, the Villain from “Beauty and the Beast” 3:05 “A Whole New World” - Drew Ochoa as Aladdin, the Hero from “Aladdin” 4:15 “Be Prepared” - Kurt von Schmittou as Scar, the Villain from “The Lion King” 5:24 “Out There” - EJ Cardona as Quasimodo, the Hero from “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”
Have you ever seen such a group of people that can SING ... ALL WHILE SOMEHOW SMILING? Jesus god almighty, these guys are out-worldly voalized. Eff me. Holy ... jesus!
Got to see this live in Costa Mesa, and it was spectacular then! People if they come to your area, the price for a ticket is worth it!!! My stepmom and I thoroughly enjoyed the concert.
WOW!!! Another jaw-dropping, chill-inducing, and tear-jerking video. Thank you SO much, Voctave. As my students say, "Any Day With Voctave is a Good Day"
How these sweet people carry many rides in their voices up and down the mtns, with all the emotions and yet bring so much joy!!!! Beautiful people everywhere!!!!!!! The crowds will smile when anyone see and hear all of yaw ,togeher where yaw belong!!! Doing what all yaw sing is a huge blessing!!!

Totally agree
Yes please!!!
I came here to say those two were the BEST!! 🌟 you can tell they had fun singing Be Prepared
Absolutely 💯
The end of "Out There" blew my mind
So much talent. The Princess medley showed off the girls. Now this one showed off the guys. Incredible arrangement!

That was EJ Cardona, check him out in O Come All Ye Faithful
@@elamothe81 Yes! The whole song is breathtaking, but that ending leaves me speechless!
And he didn't even take a breath before that last note. There was a whole phrase before it!! EJ always impresses...
E.J. Cardona, you have taken my breath away and I think you have stolen my ❤️
He makes 20 seconds look easy because he's got another 10 - 20 seconds more in him. His breath control (and let's face it, lung capacity) is amazing.
Giving the Tenors hero solos and the Baritones/Basses villain solos is subliminal genius.
Yeah, it's basically been tradition in Opera for centuries so it makes sense that Disney has usually followed the trend. Hero/lover = tenor, villain/mentor/father = bass haha
It actually makes sense 🤔
It seems axiomatic actually, not genius.

THAT F1 WAS INSANE!
My God, that dude at the end's got some MAD pipes!
EJ Cardona, he is AMAZING
I could totally see that one guy play Gaston on stage!
Both Aaron (Gaston) and Kurt (Scar) played Gaston in the Beauty & The Beast stage show at Disney World's Hollywood Studios (several years ago).
That last note...holding a straight note that long without any kind of vibrato, staying so insanely stable....almost like an organ, but with the timber of brass...that's NUTS. Utterly nuts.

No one’s talking about the incredible chest-fry note from Karl. Dude’s incredible!
What note was the chest fry
F1. Lowest F on the piano
@@garysohan9416Yes and it was definitely a “fry” note. I know because I can do it like Karl. ;-)
Incredible indeed!
He’s good but not as good as we’ll known basses like Tim Foust from Home Free or Geoff from Voiceplay
Prince of Egypt next! 🙏🏽
It was recorded
The guy singing "Out There" DID THAT! Amazing job to all
EJ Cardona. He's one of a kind. Definitely check out his Voctave solos on "O Come All Ye Faithful", "This is My Wish", "Disney Showstoppers Medley"
The guy singing "Be Prepared" was absolutely the most fun to watch oh my lord. What a showman!
MASTERCLASS in singing!!! WOW!! This is perfection personified.
E.J is a national treasure and I cannot and will not be convinced otherwise.
karl's voice is so warm and comforting even if he is singing a villain's song haha
Everyone’s Disney bounding outfits were great but Aaron really nailed Gaston! And Kurt brought the drama as always!!
