    35 yrs old leading a team to a tie for the best overall record in the NBA. And Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman and Toni Kucok missed a combined 43 Game's that season due to injuries. But the 35 yr old played all 82 for the 3rd yr in a row, simply amazing!

      Pip missed 38 games and wasn't 100% at the playoffs. MJ had to handle both Pip's duties on both sides of the court in game 6 of the finals when Pip played decoy. Heck, he locked down Reggie in game 7 of ECF. Reggie was scoreless the whole 4th quarter when MJ guarded him.

      Cwm368 - are you kidding? Fans and media constantly make excuses for LBJ today at 33 years old suggesting he should be given a pass for not playing defense at all because he gets tired and needs to conserve his energy - as if that issue hasn't faced every player in history.
      And yes, 35 is ancient for any professional athlete.

    This Bulls team really just has high Bball IQ, experience and savvy. It's like playing with your uncles when your just 15 and they're in their late 30s and early 40s. Just relaxed, growing to their spots, making the great pass and reads. They just know how to play. That's why even if they won 72 games they got the job done despite all the hoopla and pressure. The warriors were just starting with their journey while that 72 win team was already 3 time champions. I think that played a huge role on why they fell short. And yeah, the NBA kinda effed them with that Green suspension. But the Cavs did their job.

    The MAGIC wete supposed to be the next dynasty, after the BULLS swept them in 96 they plummeted fast

    • @sonnyc2539
      @sonnyc2539 5 лет назад

      Shaq left, Penny suffered a torn cartilage that crippled him. By the 98 season Nick Anderson, Dennis Scott, Brian Shaw, and Anthony Bowie were gone. Darrell Armstrong and Penny Hardaway suffered an injury in the beginning of the season that put them out for the rest of the year. The only player left in that Orlando squad of the mid-90s that was still healthy was Horace Grant. It wasn't that the Bulls that destroyed the Magic dynasty, because Orlando also got swept by Houston. What killed the potential Orlando dynasty was Shaq leaving and Penny getting injured. Orlando would have beaten Chicago had Penny fully healed from the cartilage tear but he didn't. Chuck Daly was a much better coach than Brian Hill so they solved their coaching problem but without Penny fully healed, they were not going to win anything. Chuck Daly could only work with what he has. Orlando didn't do that bad that season, they went 41-41.

      @@sonnyc2539 WHY OH WHY did they let SHAQ leave. Did they really tell the man you know FORSURE would be an unstoppable force for next 10 years. Shaw wasnt awful and while yes Daly was a superior coach, they couldve won with him. They wouldn't of beaten the BULLS until 99. With shaq and penny on max deals, role players around those u have a winning formula

      @@sonnyc2539 you must be dreaming if you think penny would of out did jordan and they was going to win once jordan came back and fully focused on the game nobody was beating chicago from 96-99

    • @sonnyc2539
      @sonnyc2539 5 лет назад

      @@Rambo20244 It's all hypothetical, but keep mind before Penny got injured, Penny made 1st team all-nba twice (both in 95 and 96) so by the 96 season he was considered to be one of the best players in the league. Made the all-star team twice (95 and 96), and was 3rd in MVP voting in the 96 season only behind Michael Jordan and David Robinson. Even Jordan himself admitted that if he were pass the torch to a player that would be as great him he said it would be Penny. Coaching was really the reason the Olando lost to Houston in the 95 finals and played a big part on the 96 defeat against the Bulls. Basically every play had to end with Hardaway dumping it to Shaq, Shaq trying to get a 1-1 matchup on the low-post and if he was double-teamed he would kick it out to open shooters, or some other gimmick strategies to find open shooters. It got tired/boring/and predictable and elite teams like Houston and Chicago knew how to counter, instead of making the Magic a faster paced team with a lot more ball movement (we saw how good a faster game with a lot of ball movement worked for San Antonio in beating the Heat in the finals). Orlando's losses in the playoffs to Indiana, Houston, Chicago were a combination of growing pains and having a terrible head coach. Eventually Orlando was going to beat Chicago I believe by 98. I mean if Indiana can push Chicago to 7 games, a healthy Penny with Chuck Daly coaching the team would have beaten Chicago in 6. But Shaq left and Penny suffered an injury that permanently cripple him. No I'm not dreaming, I'm 100% positive that would have happened had Penny simply stayed healthy.

      @@sonnyc2539 I like penny and was mad because of his injury because I definitely wanted him to challenge kobe... but you was taking it to far with him beating jordan... you don't understand.... when the magics beat the bulls before.... bulls were out for blood whenever they played them..... it doesn't matter if it would of been 96 97 and 98 he wasn't going to allow the magics to defeat him again.
