@@SerendibAquatics thanks for the response. I started feeding my green zebrafanio frys dissolved egg yolks solution using a dropper 4 times throughout the day .. not sure if tgey eating it or not as tgey are very little wigglers as compared to other frys like goldfish n betta I use to directly feed bbs to them once they started free swimming ... but with danios this is my second attempt as first time all the frys dies unfortunately. I'm I doing it correctly???? As in I have planned to feed them egg yolk solution for like a week .. then switch to bbs ... after like a month I'll feed them tubifex ... do correct me if I'm wrong.
When they start free swim they want small amount of food for save their lives. Thus very small quantity should put to tank. And put some moss or some small plants then they can take some natursl foods also. Then in day 4 or 5 onward you can start very small dose of BBS desolve in water. Small amount deasolve in large water amount and put everywhere in the tank with droper. Basis is very small amouth should distribute equaly in whole water column. Then you can see babies abdomen get orange if they eat BBS. Accordingly you can shift totaly to BBS later. Keep water change 10 % daily. When you use egg yolk solution. Tank should not going to ammonia spike. Good luck ! Keep us update
Wow. This is really helpful. Many ppl tend to use incorrect medical treatements and kill their fish. So many facts to look for and video carefully addresses all of these things. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Good presentation, and a comprehensive coverage of the disease and its treatment. However, one treatment modality you overlooked is UV sterilisation. This method utilises a different wavelength of light to those units employed for algicidal use in ponds, and is very effective at destroying the free-swimming stages of the parasites without the drawbacks of some chemical treatments. Malachite green and formalin have adverse effects on biological filtration, often destroying the bacteria altogether. Copper sulphate also has similar effects in addition to its toxicity in soft water, which BTW is of limited efficacy in very hard water due to its propensity to bind with carbonates. Tables are available for calculating rates of Copper treatment. Another method of treatment is ozonation. This also destroys the free-swimming stages. Dosage tables are available for therapeutic dose rates. It's good that you cleared the infection in your zebra plecos. For those viewers who don't know about zebra plecos, these fish are not scaleless. Whilst they don't have the usual small scales seen on the majority of fishes, they are covered in large bony plates called scutes which afford them protection. That's why the group are referred to as armoured catfish. Thus, they can tolerate treatments which other species, such as elephant trunk fish, cannot. The important thing to remember is that white spot comes in on the fish. As you mentioned, as a subclinical infection that manifests itself following stress on the fishes. Temperature drops are a common trigger for white spot. You cannot overemphasise the need for quarantine. Treat the new fishes for white spot straight away. Following any chemical treatment, treat the fishes with a conditioner containing aloe vera. This has proven qualities in healing damaged tissues.
I just got 6 L134’s Leopard Frog Plecos, two days later, I noticed they have white spot disease (ICH) and it’s 11:30 at night. You can understand my frustration, knowing that I can’t go to a pet store and get the medication I need! Smh. This is my dream fish and I am devastated to see these white spots. I know all too well how deadly they can be. Your salt content is in leaders. Can you help me convert that to gallons? I have aquarium salt and I was going to raise my temperature to 86°. I just don’t wanna add too much salt. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
@@SerendibAquatics thank you. I added aeration, ICH-X and Seachem stress guard for any stress they might be going through. Lights are around 24 hours… I am on day 3 of treatment. I lost 1 leopard frog plecos smh, the smallest one. The rest seem to be doing fine, and they don’t have as much spots on them. I do a 25% water change before I do the next dose. Fingers crossed that this clears up in the next few days. Thank you
Avoid ammonia spickes. Coz fish will eat less untill full recover. Small amount of food 2 times or 3 times per day is enough until recover ( very small amount)
If it is used tank you should keep the tank and all decorations dry atleaset 48 hours. Then you can use the tank. In this vedeo we are talking about treatment for the diagnosed ICh.
