personally, my goal is simply to build a truck that is as close to an exact scale match to my RL truck as I can... competition is a bonus but mine would be primarily for recreation, but would require a LOT of custom fabrication of parts. still as so much of the RL truck is in need of a healthy budget, I doubt I will get to start doing anything more than collect printer files for parts for a couple years. thanks for an interesting video... good to know a RC can still be competitive without going all out in the parts catalog. even recreational wheeling of RCs will result in competition with friends who brought thiers.
That’s a great way to approach it, in my opinion!! It’s super fun to recreate real life rigs in scale-and certainly quite a bit less expensive, especially when they roll 😂 but thank you for the input, I really appreciate it!! 🤘🏼
I’m a maker. I know metal and composites. I prefer to make my own items and or solutions. The problem is I’m not sure what is still an issue. Seems like everything has been addressed. What do you know of that’s an issue in the RC crawling world that hasn’t been perfected yet?
Nice! I still see tons of innovation happening in the RC crawling space, but I am probably not a great person to ask 😅 I'm less technically savvy when it comes to crawling parts than many. But I would say that the best way to figure out where the needs are is to go out and ask the community--so keep doing what you're doing and you'll find something! Cheers! 🍻🤘
Awesome! Great video,, Both trucks did very well! I am more towards budget builds being have not real big income right now! But main thing is enjoy 😉 and have fun!! Be waiting on next video bud💯🤘🏻👍

I have a couple element budget type crawlers one with rock pirate towers ext on it and other mix of rock pirates rc and IERC parts both are great companies but rock pirate definitely better priced!! I agree with you on these builds can compete !! With high end rigs
That's a super valid opinion! In reality, it's all about what you enjoy the most, so I'm happy you've found what makes you happy-cause that's all that matters! 🤙🏼🤘🏼🍻
Awesome! These are the type of videos I really enjoy. I mean don’t get me wrong, I love the fun ones and the videos that get down to scale and tell little story or whatever but these type of videos help newbs like me learn as I go. All I have to do is jump on RUclips while I take my daily commute to and from work. I do however still have questions like if you could break it down for me what is the difference between a brushed and brushless motor?Which is better for crawling? (in your opinion) Which is better for all around use & durability? As my final question… Which is best for using in water conditions or mud? Thank you and I wouldn’t mind if you made a video answering these questions… Thank you again Looking forward to your future videos
Thanks for checking in!! And I'm glad we can learn together! I definitely turned to RUclips as soon as I went down the rabbit hole of RC Crawling, just like I have for many hobbies before. As for your questions, I would say that a sensored brushless motor is the best for crawling, but all types have their own merits. I'm certainly not the one to explain the difference between the two from an engineering standpoint (I could google it and give you that answer, but you could probably do that yourself) but I do know that brushless motors tend to be considered more "high-end" and I have experienced that brushless motors provide better torque, they stay cooler under high loads, and they seem more accurate when it comes to throttle input. When it comes to which is better-it's a lot of personal preference. I like the performance and low-maintenance of brushless, but some swear by brushed due to the durability and low cost. All electronics are different when it comes to water proofing, so that is going to vary greatly. Cheers! 🤙🏼
@@highnoonhobby Thank you very much for the speedy reply… Most of the time I get ignored on the RUclips comment section when I ask for questions. I Google everything I ever have questions for simply for the fact of getting information quickly at the touch of a few buttons. I have a friend that owns a hobby shop it is strictly RC, I’m trying to get some guys together to do an event soon and he already said he wants to be involved and will donate some prizes and help out with the planning, I asked him to start doing a small class or even a 30 minute RUclips video for noobs like myself. As I recently stated I’ve been in the RC for many many years ever since I was a young boy, but getting away from them for decades and then getting back into the hobby and seeing all the new vehicles, new types of cars and trucks & categories has been a whirlwind of info it was hard to retain everything LOL I am mechanically inclined so it’s not hard to break the truck down when it’s broken and replace broken parts. Recently I had issues because I modified it and had to make things work where originally they wouldn’t i.e. the shocks on a new axle carrier where there are no points for the shocks to screw into and mount on. I had to think about it and come up with my design. I’m sure I’ll pick up on many things I don’t know but I doubt I’ll be building any class 1 comp trucks Anytime soon lol
If you have a mill, lathe, can do a little tight weldin, and maybe have a grinder skills you can always compete. Outside of cutting gears it all doable for the normal guy. There are enough quality gears sets out there that are high quality.
Honestly, I don't personally have a huge preference, but I know tons of guys who run brushless on everything and swear by them. My comp rig has a cheap Reedy Power brushed motor and it does absolutely awesome-but then I also have a brushless motor in every other rig besides my Capra, which is still on the stock brushed motor from the RTR kit. My general logic is that brushless are more efficient, so maybe they're better for trailing? It also seems like their probably a bit more precise than brushed motors-but I think that generality probably isn't always accurate either. Hopefully this helps somehow, although I don't know how much clarity I'm providing here 😅
I can say from experience you most definitely can run a cheap rig and be competitive. But this is not saying go and buy cheap upgrades more so less is more
For start, yes you can, but tires and electronics are no compromise, you'll need the best of both. Rest of the parts you can go with cheaper ones no problem. Later, practice a lot!
Didn't the better more expensive rig tumble twice off the side? Was that intentional? How come points weren't deducted for that? Thx, new to crawling. Enjoyed the vid
Howdy! I'm not sure when you're talking about, but as long as the rig either: a)lands upright without the driver touching it or, b) the driver is able to upright the vehicle without touching it, then there are no penalty points assigned. That's just the rules for this comp, so that might change depending on where you are and what style of comp you're in. Thanks for the question! Cheers. 🤘🏼🤙🏼
Nice comparison. Your rig is definitely plenty capable, probably just a little difference in skill level. I'm finding that the holmes 550 brushed motors in the 8-10 turn range can get some really great wheel speed and still crawl really well. Although I still do enjoy my hobbywing axe system.
Thank you for the feedback! And I'll have to check that out-I haven't found a Holmes Hobbies product that I haven't loved yet, so I believe you there. Cheers! 🤘🏼
That's funny, I would have never known about that given my recent entry into the hobby! It's funny how trends in every niche seem to come and go in cycles, though!
@@highnoonhobby yeah, i have pictures of my venom creeper with a c10 chevy truck body on it, suspension in almost full droop, doing pretty much exactly what these trucks are doing. Sliding the belly across stuff with a lot of articulation. I wish i still had that rig. Something new is the overdrive though, never saw that in a shafty rig until more recently
Seems about right! I suppose the beauty is always in the eye of the beholder-so it's really mostly a matter of personal preference as to what you want to do with the truck; both on the building side and on the driving side too! Thanks for the input!
Thank you very much!! And I would tend to agree, I think the greater performance is definitely to be had with the purpose-built lcg chassis. Cheers! 🤙🏼
Great video showing the differences between the rigs. I think the Class 2 could of won easy. Now knowing your times are similar driving slower would of yielded better results. Regardless great video.
So I've got too many rigs, but my favorite by far is trx4 with a 12 turn holmes hobbies trailmaster, 1080esc, and a shv800 holmes hobbies servo....(it will break stuff, way too strong) but my more budget friendly truck was built out of knock off parts, and it does just fine.
Nice!! That sounds like a pretty sweet build for sure! It’s funny how well off-brand parts do, though-sometimes they outperform the name-brand parts! 😂 thanks for checking in! 🤘🏼
Hardly a 'budget' build, nice truck but more than 3 times the cost of my 1:10 4X4 crawler and that has 2 steering servos ( 4 wheel steering) But I suppose a 'low budget' is considerably more in the USA than here in the UK where a 'budget build' is usually under £200 : Just added up car costs and for less than the price of your 'budget' truck I have Four different vehicles. 1:10 crawler. 1:8 MK1 Ford Escort rally car, 1:12 DAF racing truck (races with tractor unit on its own but also includes semi trailer) and a 1:24 Outback 3 Mini crawler. : If I include the Rlaarlo AMD-12 with a few upgraded parts and a pile of Li-=ION and LiPo batteries the whole lot was still under £650. Now that's what I call ''budget builds'
Lil' Moab is just on the West side of Utah Lake, about an hour and a half or so from SLC. You can Google Map Search "Little Moab" and find an exact pin to navigate to! 🤘🏼🤘🏼 And thank you very much!
Huge difference when your running a comp rig with over 2000$ into it in parts alone with lcg chassis compared to a TRAIL crawler with a stock HCG c channel frame so they will drastically functuon different in all terrains, but just like any other hobbys or sports. Money will buy you anything to the point of becoming the best. I feel like thats most comp crawler guys just based off how much they spent on there rig compared to what normal ppl run rtr, 6-800$ isnt really a budget rig. But in todays market thats what pretty much gets you a base line rtr truck which is horse crap lol, its all in the set up too right! Lcg chassis are extremely cheap upgrade for scx10, that matched with heavy brass weights and weighted beadlocks and it becomes a stout rig with very minimal work needed
The hard part about it is the entrance-centering your truck in V-notches is definitely the goal, however approaching from one side makes it difficult to get both the front and rear to be centered, as you need to overshoot with the front to get the rear to line up. Good observation, though! 🤘🏼
@@highnoonhobby ahh! i see it makes me want to try a rock like that but till its summer snow it is🤣 but thank you for explaining that🤙 makes a whole lot more sense
I would say so! Depends on the weight of the rig, however. If you’re around 4-5 pounds, two stage foams are probably less necessary-but the heavier the rig the more you’ll want to go two-stage. That said, there seem to be a million ways to come up with great traction when it comes to foam options.
This was an interesting one! We're lucky enough to have a pretty large area to pick out lines within, and Luke is pretty well known for picking some tough ones! Thank you for checkin in! 🤘🏼
700$ "budget"? I got some quite expensive models too (like a Tamyia Panther 1:16 full Option + Extras coming up to $1000), but I would not deem that budget... that would go to an Heng Long tank of the same scale. Didn't know rock crawling was so expensive, but on the other hand: What doesn't if you take it to a professional level?
Hahaha that's how I felt when I got into the hobby!! 😂 But it's crazy what some rigs cost when you add up the costs on all of the specialty bits and bobs. Looking back on this video, I could probably elaborate on how to get into crawling even cheaper-but I think this info still holds up well. As I've been in the hobby for a bit longer now, I think I could probably leverage some secondhand deals and get that price down a little bit. But I appreciate the input! The scale models have always interested me; but I do love how my crawler gets me out on hikes and into places I wouldn't normally visit. I'd say that alone is worth it to me! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
The best tuning a powerfull reliabel Servo. Training training training to crawl difficult spots. parts can be mixed from RTR Trucks that the owners sell for cheap like canyon trail tires,TRX4 shocks and on. I like have a low budget truck compete with the way more expensive ones.
Great suggestions, thank you for the input. I think the steering servo is certainly one of the more important components in a comp setup, but drive time is by-far the most important thing to consider overall. Using second-hand RTR parts is a great comp-rig hack though-thanks for the idea! Cheers! 🍻🤙🏼🤙🏼
No, if you really know how to drive and set up and tweak your rig you can run with pretty much anything that's going to be out there.. I run a 10.2 and maybe $300 total put into it, the things is an absolute monster and I'd put it next to cliffhangers
I like people gasp at the price... save up. You dont gotta build it in a day.. ive had my rig for about 2 year's and havent upgraded much, waiting till stuff broke. But nothing really is breaking, but any way ive just slowly upgraded over the span of a year not all at once, people you gotta pay to play, could do it cheaper could do it for more
id prefer to stay close to stock, but that being said then companies would beed to make them more like how most people modify them. too often we rely on the aftermarket, and if that isnt their then models with promise fall by the wayside.
I do agree, it would be nice to see the companies providing more support to keep models relevant longer-but I do also see the utility and the fun nature of aftermarket mods!
You can definitely afford a great rig at that price! I would personally recommend looking at an SCX10.2 or SCX10Pro as a base for the rig. You can go a million different ways with the build, but I love Rock Pirates RC parts, myself. Making a rig competitive really comes down to tuning and testing and tuning some more!
I'll put my Traxxas trx4 up against either one of them with my suspension upgrade I think I'd give either one of them a run for their money A lot less money
I've actually been meaning to do a TRX-4 update on the channel-I've seen quite a few highly competitive TRX-4's since making this video and I'd bet you're right! 🤘🏼🍻
As a general rule, this is definitely true most of the time. I’ve certainly also seen trucks that shouldn’t be competing together at all, but a capable driver can even close the gap on unfair match ups as well!
Totally understand that perspective-I think they are trying to cover R&D costs and whatnot, but I agree that they still seem to be pricing out a lot of people by having everything be so expensive. Hopefully as the hobby continues to grow, more budget options will become available! 🤘🏼
I'd recommend looking for people trying to liquidate some extra trucks or get out of the hobby. While this rig would cost just under $800 if you bought every part new, you can definitely find some screaming deals on FB Marketplace or your local hobby forums. Cheers! 🍻
When everyone started buying hobby items 😅 but I totally agree with you. There are some cheaper options, but $500-700 for a well tuned comp truck is just how I came out!
@@highnoonhobby I love those little toys but man my family can eat for a month for $700 us and have got 10 kids, 7 still living at home🤣🤣🤣 moral of the story don t have so many kids if you want to still have toys.
@@highnoonhobby I just got lucky honestly. Bout the g speed rails, skid plate, and servo mount for $30 like new, bought my ar45s never used for $160, sidewinder 4 and slate motor and wheels with hyrax tires came in a package deal for $100, $80 in servo, had the rx/TX, spent $20 on ovanic battery, $30 on high clearance links, plus $60 in the body and paint. So yeah right around $480-500 range. I was just lucky pn some extremely good deals
I’d say driving time is probably still more important than the funds, cause there are some serious cheap rigs out here that just destroy more build out comp rigs! If you spend the time to tune the cheaper gear you can certainly make some cool stuff happen!
You can definitely go cheaper, that's for sure! In terms of our comps, 10.2 rigs, especially one with brushed electronics and stock axial tires/amazon wheels like this one, tend to be on the cheaper end of the spectrum.
Rig setup is important but driver skill is importanter and you can quote me there! Haha great video Alec I enjoyed this one

I absolutely agree! Ain't nobody talking about how much they spent when we're all having too much fun hitting awesome lines with great friends! 🤙🏼 Cheers!
Thanks for the edit. Love the score count!
Thank you for checkin in, I really appreciate it! 🤙🏼 And thanks for the feedback as well! I thought it would be a nice touch 😁
Also, what hobby shop knows where the toughest lines are ?
Definitely visit West Valley Hobbies in Salt Lake City, you'll get the best knowledge of the area from Mike and Zinger! They're been running crawling events in the area for as long as I'm aware!
personally, my goal is simply to build a truck that is as close to an exact scale match to my RL truck as I can... competition is a bonus but mine would be primarily for recreation, but would require a LOT of custom fabrication of parts. still as so much of the RL truck is in need of a healthy budget, I doubt I will get to start doing anything more than collect printer files for parts for a couple years.
thanks for an interesting video... good to know a RC can still be competitive without going all out in the parts catalog. even recreational wheeling of RCs will result in competition with friends who brought thiers.
That’s a great way to approach it, in my opinion!! It’s super fun to recreate real life rigs in scale-and certainly quite a bit less expensive, especially when they roll 😂 but thank you for the input, I really appreciate it!! 🤘🏼
i don’t know anything about rc but i’m just kinda staying here for the vibes
Hahaha glad we vibin 🤙🏼🤙🏼
I believe this is true I have a trx4 that is heavily tweaked but not expensively modified that can keep up with most custom chassis.
I’ve seen quite a few very capable TRX-4 budget builds, for sure! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 🤘🏼
I have never been able to see a crawling competition, so I really wouldn't know where to start.
I'd highly recommend checking one out if you can-it's an absolutely great time! At least, I enjoy them thoroughly 🤘🏼
Cheers! 🍻🤘
On a scx10 II I like to go super light 4 lbs on my Basecamp I did a heavy build
It’s so interesting to see how different chassis and combinations of components react to different weights-there’s always more testing to do!
Awesome! Great video,, Both trucks did very well! I am more towards budget builds being have not real big income right now! But main thing is enjoy 😉 and have fun!! Be waiting on next video bud💯🤘🏻👍
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that!! And I'm right there with you, I'm rocking the budget build and I'm still barely able to feed myself! 😂😂
Ye Bro I hear ya, how's this for a Budget build for $240 you can get one of if not the best roller made today the T/A Gatekeeper & with best shocks in the business /another $25 for the best inexpensive Brushed motor in the business HH 5 slot 8T CrawlMaster Sport, the ISDT ESC70 $25 dollars the hands down best esc currently made for Brushed or for $40 the 1080, add some $30 dollar Amazon beadlocks w/ tires of choice w/ whatever radio you want or have laying around & you'll compete with anybody out there..... 👍🏼
I have a couple element budget type crawlers one with rock pirate towers ext on it and other mix of rock pirates rc and IERC parts both are great companies but rock pirate definitely better priced!! I agree with you on these builds can compete !! With high end rigs
With me it doesn’t matter because I’m not into comp. However, I do want a comp truck because they look really cool. So I’d go the cheaper route.
I absolutely agree!! The more time you’re willing to spend on the bench, and then practicing with your rig, the more success you will see! 🤘🏼
Would a brushed motor or a brushless motor be best for comp crawling and general crawling? What would be the general preferences???
Honestly, I don't personally have a huge preference, but I know tons of guys who run brushless on everything and swear by them. My comp rig has a cheap Reedy Power brushed motor and it does absolutely awesome-but then I also have a brushless motor in every other rig besides my Capra, which is still on the stock brushed motor from the RTR kit. My general logic is that brushless are more efficient, so maybe they're better for trailing? It also seems like their probably a bit more precise than brushed motors-but I think that generality probably isn't always accurate either. Hopefully this helps somehow, although I don't know how much clarity I'm providing here 😅
Nice place, nice car!! Thank you for the video!😊
Cheers man!! Thanks for takin the time to leave feedback, I really appreciate it!
I can say from experience you most definitely can run a cheap rig and be competitive. But this is not saying go and buy cheap upgrades more so less is more
Absolutely agreed! Less is more is a great way to put it! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
For start, yes you can, but tires and electronics are no compromise, you'll need the best of both. Rest of the parts you can go with cheaper ones no problem. Later, practice a lot!
Totally true, thank you for your input! I totally agree, and practice is definitely the most important!
Cheers. 🤘🏼🤙🏼
@@highnoonhobby Im located on the East, Jersey, Thank you for the providing some clarity, much appreciated it. 👍
No one loves the deep pocket show off, the underdog is king!
Hahaha very true!! Cheers to that 🍻🤙🏼🤙🏼
Love the drone shots and tee at the end 👌
Thanks brotha!! Trying to up the production quality a little bit each time!
Cheers! 🤘🏼
Hey, I 3D printed that bed on the power wagon 😂
Hahaha small world!! Nice job ya did there 🤣🙌
the LCG chassis is just taking scalers back to the TVP comp rigs that were more popular 8 years ago.
I like building and driving both options !!!
I agree! Both are fantastic parts of the hobby for their own reasons!
It's a helpful course. That's wonderful!
Thank you very much!!
I think for most rc trucks that are stock and around 600$ Is mainly just good tires to grab at least personally that’s what I think
Seems about right! I suppose the beauty is always in the eye of the beholder-so it's really mostly a matter of personal preference as to what you want to do with the truck; both on the building side and on the driving side too! Thanks for the input!
Really enjoy your videos. I think in the end your better off with an aftermarket lcg chassis!
Thank you very much! I appreciate the feedback, and I certainly agree. Cheers! 🍻
Have you ever run wpl like the c14 and c24 ?
I have not, but now I want to… thanks for the info my friend 😎🤘🏼
Better than I get fed at home..... Lol subbed
Hahaha glad someone appreciated that one 😅 Cheers, thank you! 🙏🤘
Got them chankwish wheels son heck yeah love it
Hahaha heck yeah, glad at least one person got it! 😂🤘🏼
Where exactly is "mini moab?"
Nice looking rig btw.
Lcg chassis are extremely cheap upgrade for scx10, that matched with heavy brass weights and weighted beadlocks and it becomes a stout rig with very minimal work needed
just wondering on that 2nd tennis ball thing couldnt you have gotten your rc centered in that gap?
The hard part about it is the entrance-centering your truck in V-notches is definitely the goal, however approaching from one side makes it difficult to get both the front and rear to be centered, as you need to overshoot with the front to get the rear to line up. Good observation, though! 🤘🏼
@@highnoonhobby ahh! i see it makes me want to try a rock like that but till its summer snow it is🤣 but thank you for explaining that🤙 makes a whole lot more sense
Most definitely, I appreciate the question my friend! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I have an austar scx10.2 clone i bought on ebay for $120 and it runs circles around my axial scx10.2
No way, that's super rad! I'm curious to learn more... 🤘🏼
Good morning Alec!!
Gooood morning Pastor Will! Hahaha I hope you're havin a great final day of the week! Thanks for checkin in! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
You got it bro AR44
Rad, thank you for the sanity check! 🤙🏼
the two stage foams are a good upgrade ?
I would say so! Depends on the weight of the rig, however. If you’re around 4-5 pounds, two stage foams are probably less necessary-but the heavier the rig the more you’ll want to go two-stage. That said, there seem to be a million ways to come up with great traction when it comes to foam options.
@@highnoonhobby tnx man
Good video, very informative.
Loving this hobby and all the folks I meet along the way
Much appreciated!! It's definitely an awesome hobby with tons of great people, I'd agree wholeheartedly! 🍻
Any chance you know the brand of rims that are on the rig that was just painted? I believe you called it grim?
Od in the front diff might help
Absolutely! Or even better, UD in the rear.
Course look tough but good
This was an interesting one! We're lucky enough to have a pretty large area to pick out lines within, and Luke is pretty well known for picking some tough ones! Thank you for checkin in! 🤘🏼
@@highnoonhobby You are welcome buddy
Cheers! 🍻🤙🏼🤙🏼
Driver mod makes a big difference
Nice brother
from 🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾
Thanks for watching and checkin in, I really appreciate it! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
No, if you really know how to drive and set up and tweak your rig you can run with pretty much anything that's going to be out there.. I run a 10.2 and maybe $300 total put into it, the things is an absolute monster and I'd put it next to cliffhangers
What are the rules usually with these comps. Is it weight? Scale?
Damn man, 700 is budget. Kinda kills my motivation to learn and get more into it.
It's great, I'm going to watch the video well ~~^^
Much appreciated!! 🤘🏼
Love your war face👍🏼
Hahahaha some have compared it to Michael Jordan... Just kiddin I don't think anyone has 😅😂
Are you not allowed to use cut tires?
Depends on who is running the events! We typically allow cut tires in our comps.
Great vid thx for the info
Thank YOU for watching and for the comment! 🙏🏼🤙🏼
Hey new from Wdw!
Awesome!! Really appreciate you taking the time to stop by and check out the content over here! Cheers! 🍻
Is it the same driver ?
What trans is in the black lcg rig?
Great question! I'll reach out to Luke and see what he was running, but it's certainly some type of LCG trans.
Nice video guys
Oh, snap-you come here often? 😉😂 Thank you very much!!
The Marketplace build is always cheaper. 😉
Truth!! People underestimate the value of the secondhand market. Almost everything I buy now is used, or new but secondhand.
My budget right is pushing 800 that’s a basic comp rig that can compete in mod 2
a gen 8 will get you started alot cheaper . and its just as capable as any of these rigs
Great call out! Gen 8 Redcats are awesome trucks as well, for sure.
Where is this?
This is at the Little Moab Off Road Park near Utah Lake.
my simple rigs destroy all big budget build I've ever come across
Nice! That's impressive man! A lot of it comes down to the driver too, I'm sure!
It's not how much money you spend its if you can drive. I'll stick with axial chassis.
As a general rule, this is definitely true most of the time. I’ve certainly also seen trucks that shouldn’t be competing together at all, but a capable driver can even close the gap on unfair match ups as well!
It makes no sense these are so expensive. The industry needs to put down the crack pipe when pricing. They make massive profits
Totally understand that perspective-I think they are trying to cover R&D costs and whatnot, but I agree that they still seem to be pricing out a lot of people by having everything be so expensive. Hopefully as the hobby continues to grow, more budget options will become available! 🤘🏼
$700 vs ???
Luke's build in this video is probably nearing $2k-$2.5k! A nice chunk of change 🤑🤑
Is it ever cheap
This is a very good point, touché 😂
@@highnoonhobby second question is… is it ever done.
Wait. Your serious. That’s what you call budget 😭😭😭 oh im broke brok
Hahaha trust me, you are not alone-all of my money goes into tiny trucks 😂 But I'll be doing an update soon with an even cheaper setup!!
@@highnoonhobby build on a injora frame with a 35O$ budget maybe try to buy a Everest-1O and build it to be a scaler or a good comp crawler
$800 is the "budget" build?!!
I'd recommend looking for people trying to liquidate some extra trucks or get out of the hobby. While this rig would cost just under $800 if you bought every part new, you can definitely find some screaming deals on FB Marketplace or your local hobby forums. Cheers! 🍻
Budget? What on earth. $700 US when did that become cheap?
When everyone started buying hobby items 😅 but I totally agree with you. There are some cheaper options, but $500-700 for a well tuned comp truck is just how I came out!
@@highnoonhobby I love those little toys but man my family can eat for a month for $700 us and have got 10 kids, 7 still living at home🤣🤣🤣 moral of the story don t have so many kids if you want to still have toys.
I have 450-500 in a brushless g speed cheater on ar45 portals
Nice!! Sounds like you've got it figured out-great performance and within a tight budget! Nicely done!
In all reality you gotta pay to play.
I’d say driving time is probably still more important than the funds, cause there are some serious cheap rigs out here that just destroy more build out comp rigs! If you spend the time to tune the cheaper gear you can certainly make some cool stuff happen!
An 800 dollar rig is the budget rig, I'm out
This really isn't a budget crawler lol
You can definitely go cheaper, that's for sure! In terms of our comps, 10.2 rigs, especially one with brushed electronics and stock axial tires/amazon wheels like this one, tend to be on the cheaper end of the spectrum.
I have a 250$ truck and i can beat 700$ truck hehehe
Can I ask what the body is on the inexpensive build ?
That is a Cliffhanger body from Proline! Thanks for asking! 🤘🏼
