  • The most recent addition to the Panzer Fight Stick lineup targets the NEO-GEO enthusiast. Designed around the time tested NEO-GEO hardware the PFS:NG accommodates the three most popular NEO-GEO button layouts in one convenient arcade stick.
In the NEO-GEO hay-day of the 1990s Japanese Arcades would often install NEO-GEO hardware in a variety of candy cabinets. The Sega Blast City cabinet was one of the most popular. Unfortunately, the 6 button layout wasn't ideal for the 4-button arcade system and unique solutions had to be developed. One solution was to outfit the cabinet with a selector knob on the panel that re-routed button signals to the JAMMA loom via a mechanical switch. This allowed the cabinet to accomodate three NEO-GEO layouts making it accessible to a variety of play styles.
The Panzer Fight Stick NG takes cues from the Japanese Coin Ops and combines it with modern technologies. Using the established EZ BUILD system in the PFS3 as a base, a microprocessor was added to handle input/output routing in real time allowing any user to pick up the stick the ability to change layouts on the fly. To maximize the experience, RGB LEDs were added that dynamically update the button colors to match those found on authentic MVS cabinets. Because the processor is operating at 16,000,000 cycles a second, it is far faster than the 60 cycles a second the MVS hardware is polling for inputs meaning latency is not of concern with this setup.
Artwork is inspired by the Super NEO cabinets sought after by many collectors and is printed directly onto the powder coated case using epoxy inks, known for durability.
Output is handled over a standard DB15 connection that mates up directly with the AES, NEO CD, and MVS hardware with ease.

So nice...I wish you still sold these. Or at least any case with a mounted DB15 port.

I'm restoring an original Super Neo 29 now and I've been researching alternative button styles on and off for months. I've been looking to indicate the Neo Geo button colours with LEDs with some nicely updated buttons like you've done, but haven't been sure which buttons to use. Have to say, the subtlety of the coloured LEDs behind the white OBSCs has turned out really cool. For those looking to do it as cheap as possible, there's sets of 6 white OBS-C copies on AliExpress. Also, I'm opting for a simpler CPO graphic because I was never convinced that the Super Neo 29's original CPO art was ever a nice design, even when it was shiny and new. I always thought it was a cluttered mess compared to something like an Astro City. I'm still going to stick with my own simplified art, but your repro has changed my mind about the grey and purple granite aesthetic. It definitely shows the 90s in the best light possible.

very very cool just 1 thing is there a way to lock the dial? control because i can see hands slipping and accidently touching it and changing control layout unintentionally.

RallyDon82 - no accidental switching, it requires some force to turn it and then it clicks into place.

Jasen Hicks so I could put the J2's under/over the buttons in a panzer 3? Or is that a no go?

Blood Toxin - I think so. JRDIBBS seemed to have made it work.
