Considering Radacanu spent a complete year out through injury that was a good performance.
She has been impressive since her return so lets hope she continues to improve.
Nice to see Emma went toe to toe with Iga in the first set.
Ain’t no shame in losing to the World Number 1, great game.
Ner still disappointed.
@@streetfightsguild7480 yeah I’m disappointed too, but Iga certainly didn’t have an easy time with her, she’s a much better player than a year ago. Promising signs.
Learn to accept defeat..no matter what form.defeat is defeat..😄😄😄
One can never accept the agony of defeat.
She was eliminated in just 2 sets, though...
Well done Raducanu, she’s been playing really good tennis lately, honorable defeat. Iga amazing as usual.
1ga Swiatek with performance as weak as this would have in straight sets easily lost to Sabalenka or Rybakina.
@@einarsd4correct. not clutch at all on BPs. Iga won’t let her off like raducanu.
Rybakina*
Rare momente of IGA playing a tie-break.
😂
To be honest Emma did so good this match you can see it
RADUCANU THE BEST EVER A FIGHTER🎉🎉🎉
😂😂😂😂
@@carlostallomercado8356Keep on deluding yourself like this. 1ga Swiatek didn't play her best tennis at all. She made a lot of unnecessary mistakes.
Great play from Raducanu on Stuttgart clay. Iga is just too consistent, powerful, and mentally tough for Emma atm, but she's getting there.
I hope you're not suggesting that Iga is mentally tougher than Emma!
@@ricklee5845 obviously she is 😉
@@subskrybentx3328 I don't see an 'obvious' here... explain it to me!
Raducanu gave her too many short balls that ended up as winners for Iga and unplayable for Emma.. the pace and speed and angles by Iga made it hard for Emma to play her shorts..great when Emma plays aggressive..and take those risky shorts..
*Emma already there! She knocks off a bunch of world top contender in her week and a half play time. 5 matches in eight days! BJK took a lot out of her. She said at press before the event started that she was playing tired! She didn't have enough time to recuperate from BJK and still knocks off top tier players!* *She's already there and is only going to get better. If Emma was well rested, I have a feeling the Iga match would have turned out a bit different.*
Congratulations to Iga 🎉 Emma also played great- big serving and taking Iga to a 1st set tiebreaker should give her lots of confidence for the season.
It’s a good job Emma took it to a tie breaker cause her serve wasn’t as good as it was in the last few matches.
Iga Swiatek played poorly overall. She made a lot of unnecessary mistakes. Iga Swiatek should have easily won this match, but she herself made this match difficult. Also all those unused breakpoints also shows how weak 1ga Swiatek was. Stop talking nonsense.
@@einarsd4 Emma’s serve wasn’t as good as in previous matches though which made her service games tougher, didn’t take advantage when she had chances as well.
Good match this. Iga at the top of her game, Emma quickly getting back to form after a few good weeks on the dirt. A real battle for two hours.
1ga Swiatek at the top of her game? Are you serious? She barely won against Mertens and Raducanu. If she would have been on top of her game she would have easily destroyed both Mertens and Raducanu. Stop your weak fantasies. You clearly don't know how good Swiatek is when she is really on top of her game.
Iga was at 50%, and raducanu was playing better tennis than in her us open win. Still iga won in straight sets
You kidding? Iga was below par!
I see Raducanu back playing tennis for real. Now , provided for her to be able to choose right people to have around, Pls, pls, pls to all British fans : leave her alone , The less °noise° you make about and around her, the best it is for her
The way she fired her coach after winning the US Open, like a brat, will not be forgiven.
Emma’s inability to keep a coach also proves she’s a difficult person.
She is reaping what she has sown.
Iga is now on her 99th week as No. 1. 100-weeks as No. 1 is a very sure thing.
Guaranteed to be #1 until after RG, that's 107 weeks
А если она проиграет рыбакиной?тоже номер 1останется?если так ,то она спокойно может слить😮
if she lost again, aryna will be no.1 not Elena😅@user-en8ji6no9x
Huge win for Iga, because Emma has been playing very well and was aggressive in this match. It doesn't get any easier from here with Elena on deck for tomorrow, but I like that Iga raises her game when needed (like in the tiebreaker here)!
Lets be realistic Iga was heavy favorite but Emma made this alot closer than expected.
huge is a bit too much, but Raducany indeed was good.
lol ... come on man
Polish queen is still leading the race congratulations Iga and good luck.
Raducanu looked really solid today. Huge turnaround from a year ago when she had to leave the tour for the surgeries. Impressive here against the #1. Well done, Iga, cuz Emma was bringing it today.
If Emma doesn't have an injury, welcome to the top 10. Iga as usual, wild will to win, respect!
lol yeah, it's really injury that has stopped Emma reaching the top 10, not the fact her game just needs more development. 😶
You clearly don’t watch much tennis😂
Dude, she first need to get top 200 and this will be success for her 😂😂😂😂😂
She has to win a tournament first...also has no win against top ten. she is begging for wildcards , as she wants to avoid qualifying rounds. This is not a committed WTA player.
@@jimsmailorg exactly right
Iga gets aggressive and confident that its scary to be on the end. Great job Emma . Congrats Iga 🎉
What a great Friday. Listen to tennis all day at work specially 1ga and Elena both won the quarter final matches. Never mind about the screamer or super hyped Coco 😂😂
Incredible determination and comeback from Emma Raducanu. Iga, amazing as always staying focused and finding angles, changing direction and winning shots like no other. An incredible opponent. Congrats to both!!! One of the best matches of the year!
Not only avoiding the bagel but taking Iga to a first set tiebreak... Emma did amazing considering she wasn't fresh for this match after BJK cup. But Iga is Iga, the real "baby Rafa" 🤣
???? Iga also was playing BJK, stop making stupid excuses
@@remek5758 And Iga played on hard surface in BJK
@@mysteriousdoge1298They were quicker matches and a bit before Emma’s matches though, Emma had some tough 3 setters with good players. Her fitness overall is behind Iga’s so she’s gonna feel the effects of those more compared to her who’s used to playing a lot of matches.
@@jgooner894Iga had a lot less time to train on clay though since her matches were on hard courts
@@gabrielametodieva8360 That is a element but it is her favourite surface at the same time.
Well played Ladies ❤❤❤ congrats Iga 💪 keep fighting 💪
1GA's court IQ is so up there that sometimes she doesn't need all her weapons to win. So good!!
Great moment for Emma, putting Iga in a tie-break. It's a great achievement, because Iga is unstoppable, ruthless. Great match.
It’s really nice to see Emma playing at the best of her ability and realising her potential. To all those saying Iga would be sending out a bagel; I give you a tie break ;) A gutsy fight, and no shame in losing to the best of the game.
Imagine being happy because someone lost in a tie break. A loss is a loss. Iga has never lost a set against her, and again she is proving just way too good for raducanu
@@notis6107they’re happy that emma took iga to a tiebreak… that’s pretty good.
@@aaron.y2k its pathetic
@@notis6107 it’s a massive step forward considering two months ago she was throwing up and was bagelled by kalinina
@@aaron.y2k yes sorry but mediocrity isnt my thing. Its the 1st time in 3 years that she wins 4 matches in a row. Sorry but in order to actually see raducanu as a contender in wta i think shw must be way more consistent. Its a good start indeed on clay for emma, but i wouldnt get excited
Woot woot... go Iga! Get the three-peat done! 🙂
Emma played a superb first set... just the fact that she could hang with Iga and take it to a tie-break should give her a lot of hope going forward.
She’s the best player RADUCANU THE BEST EVER

Jazda IGA💃🏻
They both played brilliant tennis. Amazing rivalry 😍
Swiatek is still winning the speed and fitness battle. She's also a bit more accurate.
Emma is slowly coming back - there can be no doubt about that!
Slowly coming back home instead of fastly coming back that shes used to do before.
I can see Emma being ranked around 20 ish before the end of the year. She’s literally got no points to defend for the rest of the year and she’ll get wildcards to all the big tournaments where there’s more points on offer. Her ranking has already gone up 82 places just from winning 2 matches.
Iga's footwork is just a wonder to behold. So active.
What a redoubtable encounter and a cordial handshake between Swiatek and Raducanu. Especially, the first set was really gruelling. Even though Emma gained the break advantage, it was the most substantial step which was briskly taken by Iga Swiatek in order to comeback to the first set and extending the tussle to the tie-break. Raducanu undoubtedly forces her capacity on the pitch, contending more resolute and tenacious in each stage. Another stupendous triumph from my Iga! JAZDAAA!
*Don't you just love ChatGPT.*
@@radicalrick9587 ha, love it bro
Before the match, I thought that Iga would blow Emma off the court, but I was wrong. Emma fought really bravely, especially in the first set, but in the tie break and in the second set Iga showed why she is number 1...
Overall it was a very good match :)
*Wrong, Emma showed why she's #1, before the Porsche event Emma was already tired from the BJK Cup. If you look at her eyes on the close up, they were blood shot red! As a marathon runner, I know what fatigue looks like when I see it. She even said at the press talk, that she was playing tired! Yet, she still manages to knock off 3-time Grand Slam Championship Kerber and Noskova who just beat Iga a few months earlier!!* *By the time she was playing Iga, Emma was already all spent! Yet she still pushed Iga to a tie breaker!?* *My money clearly on Emma the next time they meet.*
@@radicalrick9587 Iga also plays BJK ok... Emma is improving but not enough to win Iga
@@netgodzilla1 *Here let me school you a little, when you have a very low ranking as Emma has, you have to play much stronger opponent than the much higher ranked players. Iga players were a walk in the park whereas Emma had to really fight, taking more out of her. As Emma ranking goes back up, it will get easier for her just as it is for Iga until they get to the last 8 or 4.* *This is something you should already know. Which is why players try to get up in the ranking, so their games are much easier to the finals.* *And don't forget Iga and a bunch of other top players get a buy courtesy of their high ranking, making it that much easier being able to play less than your lower ranking opponents.*
@@radicalrick9587Emma is number one? Because she won ONCE, two and half years ago ago? Are you kidding us?
@@andrzejkrasnicki *I recognize God given talents when I see it. Iga can only wish she had Emma talents. Barring any health issues Emma is going to start winning a lot more events. Emma is the Tiger Wood of tennis. There's a reason why she has 100x more fans than Iga, including non-tennis fans, people recognize something Extraordinary when they see it. And that's what Emma is, Extraordinary!* *You people tend to ignore the fact that she been hurt and playing hurt for some time before her surgery. You completely throw that out and knock her down. I see the gifted talented tennis player she is under all that health issues. I'm not Ignorant of that facts.*
Nice game iga❤
So proud of Emma she held her own, time to rest up and come back stronger 🫶
Meeting Iga was always going to be a challenge at this stage of Emma's comeback from multiple operations, however she did well and can draw heart from her performance. Emma's tactic of playing short to Iga thus preventing her pounding shots from the baseline almost worked.
What a set of tennis that was! Raducanu was definitely riding on a wave of confidence, and it really showed in the first set. Despite some unusual errors, Iga was able to step up in the tie-break. After that, she was much more confident, and Raducanu seemed a bit fatigued from all the matches she played. Iga continues to set records, she is 62-0 in completed matches after winning the first set? someone correct me, I might not be remembering right. She is just so consistent, not a very exciting word, but there you are, she is a 4-time GS champion, and there is a very good chance she will win more. I hope she goes all the way and makes Stuttgart another tournament where she does the three-peat!
She lost a match a couple of tournaments ago can’t remember who to
@@honeyburnbooks this statistic applies WTA1000 event, not all matches
I don't think your stats are correct. She lost against Noskova at AO after winning the first set.
Otherwise a very good comment.
She won 1st set against noskova in AO this year and lost. The stat is WTA1000. She still lost once after winning 1st set against Rybakina in Rome but she withdrew in 3rd set due to injury so they don't count that.
@@LordFluffymort It makes sense
Raducanu played a good game. Showed that she deserves to be on the court with the dominate player in women's tennis these days. That said it wasn't her best game. She missed some easy kills, and didn't attack like she can. Understandable if nerves were a factor. I hope the meet again soon when Raducanu could have much more confidence.
Dobrze się taką 1gę ogląda. 👍
out of all the matches that should’ve gone three sets, it should’ve been this one. much higher quality than the other 3 matches. more winners than UE from both ladies !
Congratulations to Emma for playing a great match against #1. If she maintains her form she will be back in the top 10 very soon where she belongs ❤❤🇿🇦
Losing to Swiatek 7-6 is a great achievement considering there is usually a bagel in the score.
She didn't bagel Mertens last match.
Well, at least Emma knows whe can go at it with Iga. However Iga is another kind of challenge though.
Such high quality match !! Love Raducanu
Raducanu is playing well, Swiatek is unbeatable on Clay.
It's clay season, it's hunting season, another car is coming up for 1GA 💪
Having only won four games last time they played, this is a massive improvement for Emma 🥳
Makes no sense since she won 8 games the time before
*People keep forgetting that Emma has been playing injured for over a year. Yet Emma still manages to keep knocking off a bunch of Grand Slam Champions. At least 5 Grand Slammers and one Current Gold medalist have been knocked off by Emma in her very short professional debut!!* *Emma's above and beyond all current players including Iga. Emma, so proud of you. You played tremendously and you are getting there. You have nothing to feel bad about.
do not cry
That wasn't such a bad loss for Raducanu. She's showing improvement in her game. Once a grand slam champion always a grand slam champion.
Secretly pulling for Emma to repeat US Open this year...if she keeps playing this well, she got a chance
Stop sniffing, please.
Love that lol
You are correct, she has a chance, so do other players. Her game is currently near top 20. It was sufficient to win her first title, but is it gonna to repeat over and over? Slight chances, especially that other players are now wary of her, not like it was in 2021.
@@toja123 I could see her pattern. She empties her pockets in the 1st & 2nd sets & takes risks to steer the ball to the corners or sidelines.
If she made it, she finished her opponents in 2 sets like she did.
If not, she ran out of steam to accept the defeats or excuses.
If Noskova won the 2nd set, then Emma’s chance to win the match is slim.
Casual observers think that she doesn’t have enough fitness, but not so many would last if he or she plays that style.
Swiatek records her 100th win as World's No1. Ridiculanu records another loss and gets her BFH....bus fare home.
Emma is in Madrid
Some shots from Emma were awesome, Iga was flat footed on those.
Positive come back Emma! We love and will always support you. Don’t worry, your great time will come soon 🤍🤍🤍
@3:45 Is that even legal. ! Emma seems to have used a time machine to determine where Swiatek's finishing shot was going and turned that point around.
She’s getting better at anticipating approach shots, Emma needs work on her own approach shots cause she can be so annoying with them, she tries to wrong foot the player too many times and loses points where the court was wide open, she needs to sort that out and mix it up there.
@@jgooner894 Yes agreed and I say that as a fan of Emma.
@@jgooner894I thought I was the only who noticed that😫 it’s so frustrating as it seems to happen ALL the time
She had the whole other side of the court to hit into. Why she chose to hit right where Emma was I'll never understand.

Hope that Emma be out of injury. She keeps on improving.
Congrats and good luck Iga, keep up the good work.
Emma gave Iga really a hard time on the court today. In each of her last five matches, she played better and better, and today there was no difference in the level of play of both players... And most importantly, Emma withstood the match well in terms of fitness. After losing the tiebreak, everyone probably thought that Emma was about to give up. And she fought until the very end... If only her health allows, she will be on a winning path this year...
there was a difference, emma was doing her best but Iga wasn't at her best. Emma didnt give up but we all knew after that first set she was done, she has lightyears to go Iga brushes off losing brutal sets like its nothing. it is brutal

An expert I see
Props to Emma Raducanu, she has hit great form but was ultimately tested today from no other than Iga Swiatek who played brilliant. It’s a shame Emma’s serving wasn’t up to par the first set it really slowed her down. The instant rallies were frightening and iga’s blinding speed and power with shot selection really tested raducanu.

Interesting...Emma couldn't really get the hammer down on her shots as Iga make sure Emma was hitting most returns off balance..
Iga's balls have a lot of pace. Physically weaker female players will have problems. That's why physically stronger players will likely dominate the WTA but not the ATP.
