Every Monday morning, in grade school, we had an assembly. At the close our principal would play Onward Christian Soldiers, on the piano. That was at the Parkview Elementary School in Bedford Indiana. I don’t know if that school even exists any longer. You see it was more than 70 years ago. Today if a public School principal did anything like that he or she could expect to be fired before the day ended. It’s regretful our nation has come to push God out at every turn. However, have no fear we know how that story ends. Miss Paula, thank you for a really special memory. ✝️🎶

@BillyRay568 You're very welcome. It really is sad how our Lord God has been pushed out of schools now. When I was in school, our principal came over the intercom each morning and prayed for God to be with us. This was in Oklahoma. How our nation has changed from the Godly principles that our nation was founded on.

I think I see the Melodies of Praise hymnal on your shelf, copyright 1957. I was born in 1957 and taken to church as a child and have continued in church all my life. I found the hymnal in my mothers things, and she had the date 1960 inside the cover. I am thinking it was the first hymnal used in our church that started in 1956 in Lewes, DE. This past year I have been going through it to see how many of the songs I know. I know about 200 of them so I am looking for the 141 songs I didn't know or could not remember the tune. I am so glad I found you on youtube. So far I have found 20 and enjoyed singing along. Thank you for using your talents to serve the Lord.
