so I am new to Etsy and I got the 14 dat trial and I really didn't get how to use it to find what to sell. I have watch a lot of video with other people using it and even tried marmalead I still couldn't figure it out. I was at the point I was going to try something else when I found this video and it helped me understand how to use the tool. You were super clear and extremely helpful hopefully you will do more videos that give a more step by step approach.

I’m confused. Right around 9:00 minutes we are discussing forecasting. October 2020 had a bit less than 1,000 monthly searches reported. How am I to believe October of the next year is accurately forecasted at a 900% increase for the same month from the year before? This number seems wildly off to me and has me questioning the accuracy of the program. Am I missing something?
It sounds like you could be in a relatively untapped market! But you should really try avoid using keywords with less than 25 search and especially less than 25 engagement. If there are few searches/engagement then there aren't very many buyers searching and clicking through listings with those keywords. And if there's little competition, then there aren't very many sellers using those keywords either. This could mean that your product is pretty niche so there isn't a super wide market for it, or it could mean that you're missing the mark with your keywords. Either way, you should look for keywords with higher search and engagement. If your market is just too niche, you may need to get less specific with your keywords. Start researching with the simplest form of what your product is, like in this video. From there you can dig deeper into more keywords and long tail alternatives from the suggestions Marmalead gives. You can also jump over to the Storm tool to pull out some more effective keywords that are in the realm of what you're selling. We'll be putting out a comprehensive tutorial on using Storm in the near future (just like this video), but basically, you start with a seed keyword in Storm then tell the tool which keywords are related to your listings and which ones aren't. You should start to see keyword suggestions that have more green for search and engagement. Give it a shot, and look for the Storm How-to soon. Good luck!
