Thanks for your honesty you are a real seller that doesn’t claim to make millions doing ai and all this mess. I am starting a hobby of selling stickers and I do have a specific niche where I have a following already so I’ll be driving my own traffic but this is so helpful! Crafting is therapudic might as well share some!

I have what I think is a fairly successful Etsy shop and all I could ever really get from the Marmalead info was that absolutely no one was ever looking for anything I made. Hi Kara, In Marmalade it is showing that good (green) competition numbers are anywhere between approximately 300 - 9,000. So if you had about the same number of searches and engagement, would you pick a word with a competition number closer to the lower end of that scale?
I would use the lower competition one in the exact word order but i would probably put them both in.
So I left Erank to try Marmalead again a few days ago and I ran across your video to try and make some sense of it. But from what I gather is to pay no attention to most of Marmalead's suggestions because they're not correct. Now I'm even more confused, trying to figure out the purpose of this tool.
None of the tools are 100% correct, they give you an idea of which keywords are better than others, and they give you an idea about what you should work on. Then you have to make the decision for yourself about what you want to focus on. Marmalead is more accurate than the other keyword tools as far as keyword research goes, and I’ve tried a lot of them to test them out. The tools that throw in a bunch of ranking and sales information are a waste of time because Etsy doesn’t give that information out, and they don’t have a static rank for listings anymore. People should use the tools for the keyword research, not the other stuff, and Marmalead is the most accurate for that.

Yes, as long as it’s an Etsy listing. You can’t lead people off of Etsy to buy. Internal linking on Etsy is fine but it doesn’t help in the search algorithm. It does help customers (maybe) if they read the descriptions.

So if something is relating to the kitchen, do I only need to use the word 'kitchen' once in my title and once in my tags? Or is it smart to use both 'vintage kitchen gift' and 'retro kitchen prop', for example? Thanks.
Totally up to you. It will be found for all the phrases either way if the words are in there, but the exact word order match might be good to have.
So basically you don't need it but do it just in case 😂
Why did you say you don't use the word custom?
Because I don't do custom listings, so it wouldn't be accuarate.
Just went to their website, not sure if you know that you are on a few pages. $20 a month with no free trial is interesting. I've never seen that before.
I think hat they do have a free trial but it's been so long since I would have used it I'm not sure. There are a lot of SEO tools that don't have free versions. There's one for Google SEO that I pay #100 a month for and there's no free version!
I'm not even going to post the link to the channel. That person has been giving out very bad advice for a while now. A lot of what's said on there is just flat-out wrong, so I won't waste my time watching any of those videos!
