Thanks Mohammed! Sorry to say that the shoulder rig is just an amalgamation of separate rig parts bought off of eBay. I'll put up a blog post about it on equipmentreview.tv later on today, though.
Really good video, but I have to disagree with one of the named disadvantages: RAW in post is not a negative factor of the camera. If you can't handle RAW, don't buy a camera that shoots it.
Hey I had downloaded as some prores footage on my window pc but it wouldn't even accept the footage is their another video format on the camera that my computer could handle just until I upgrade my pc
fast forward to september 2016 and with the software updates the drop in price as well as still including DaVinci compared to what's on the market today like the latest Canon 5D - how would you compare the BMCC now?
Looks like that camera's suffering from the "blackmagic effect" too and getting pushed back - as soon as we can get our hands on one we'll put up a review!
thanks man. great video. i have a question . now that magic lantern is encorporating 14-bit raw into the mark 3, is it worth it to get the mark3? or the bmcc? or even the BMpocketCC?
Hi I got canon 700d right now and i want to upgrade my camera because i want to start making my cinematic short film. Can i take this step to buy black magic 4k EF MOUNT? Please reply me.
To my knowledge, the RAW video on the MkIII isn't sustainable for more than a couple of seconds, and I'm not sure if ever will be. With the BMCC now over $1,000 cheaper I'd recommend just buying a BMCC if all you're using it for is video.
So, I own a Canon 700D now and I've used it for a couple of years now and for pictures It's fine but for filming It's terrible. However, I bought a Tamron wide-angle lens for it and don't want to lose the lens when buying a new camera. So would I still be able to use this lens (together with the Rode VideoMic Pro) on the BMCC? And if so, do I need to get the EF or MFT mount? Thanks!
canon cameras have the ef mount so you need the ef version but you will have a crop since the bmcc has a mft sensor (2,4x crop) and your 700d a aps-c sensor (1,6x crop) meaning youll loose some field of view
Have owned a black magic for about 4 months now & I must say this is a very accurate review!
Is this camera 4k?
I believe it was 2.5k

Hi Shane. I'm enjoying your reviews. Love the [re:view] branding with your monitor. Nice touch!

it was more a word of warning i think, I'd honestly use the prores more than raw just to save time and therefor costs
preach!!!!!
I'd love to see a video about the shoulder rig :) Thank's for the reviews !
What was the rig ou brought up in the video?
At least it's nice that they take the time to resolve (no pun intended) all the issues and deliver a proper product
Thank you for this review! I found a great deal on this website that sells used and refurbished cameras so I considered buying this.

Can black magic cameras record for a long amount of time? Let's say for events or plays.
+Colton Gunning depends on what format you shoot in and how big your ssd is
Colton Gunning how much gb is 30 min for

+Ethan Swords the gh4 cant shoot in raw....so is the bmcc much better
Wait, no focus peeking in DSLR, also no zebras. I guess noone uses Magic Lantern?
