Hello!! It's been a pretty busy couple weeks in the Lone Fox household! I traveled to New York for a few work meetings and explored the city. The marble countertops were patterned and placed to be cut along with the original hardwoods getting a refresh! What color would you stain the new floors?

For old dog urine stains in oak floors: Pour hydrogen peroxide over the stain & cover it with a clean cloth soaked in hydrogen peroxide. Cover the cloth with plastic wrap, weighting it with a book. Let it sit overnight (at least 8 hours). The hydrogen peroxide should remove any stains and eliminate the urine odor. If this doesn't work in one go, do it again until the black stain is gone. In our home the mud room had a lot of black staining from the former owners dog who was kept there. It took it all out! It did take several applications because it was really bad.

This is good info. I used vinegar and baking soda to get the smell out of our floors. It worked but the stains remain. By time we sanded the floors and re-stained them it actually made the dog stains so much worse. I assumed staining would even it all out. Wish I would of found a way to get rid of them before we finished our floors.

Hi Drew, condolences for Roger, he seemed such a sweet guy and kindly allowed you to express your creative design in his property. Don't find too many like him, that's for sure.
As for the dark stains on your oak floors, Dashner Designs uses oxalic acid, rubbing over with fine steel wool, over an oak cupboard in his 17th September segment to get rid of dark stains, perhaps this could be a good way to get rid of those stains on your floors. Worth a watch. Personally, I would prefer a clear coat rather than a dark stain on those floors, to lighten up the area, as dark on ceiling and floors would be too oppressive for me. You most likely would put down rugs to bring some spanish colour into those rooms I would think. Also your fireplace, rustic stone up the chimney, or even just on the bottom parts, would add another dimension of texture to the room? Love watching your content, keep up the good work.

I have lots of furniture made from this wood produced during the Arts & Crafts Era and even more recent Stickley pieces. I don't work about perfection with this grain pattern: the 🐈 Cat Olympics' scratches barely show after a good paste wax and buff. Not sure if you've a)ready inquired, but Drew if you haven't please speak with someone about sealing your marble. I designed a Mansion and installed 3700 sq ft of white marble. I called my people and had the entire floor sealed. We flew that marble in from Paris. No way we could replace it if a mishap occured.
I love your eye for detail, you are amazing 😘 SO VERY HAPPY FOR YOU 🥰🤩

Needing 10 large scale wedding table centerpieces, my daughter and I used tree branches 6' tall like the bath showroom branches you show.... we painted them gold, anchored them in clay pots with plaster paris, topped in green moss. Thousand of crystals ( strung on fine filament ) hung from the branches. They were such a huge it, that someone bought them on site and carted them away...of course after the reception was over . Thanks for another amazing video Drew, your videos keep getting better and better

Gosh Drew what a great video, your counter tops are going to be so gorgeous, and those guys were so sweet, and they let you choose exactly where and how you wanted it and that was great. Also seeing your floors all sanded was so amazing, now when they are done you can choose what color stain you want because they did an amazing job. so exciting you also got to do some traveling that looked like a lot of fun, someday I would love to visit New York. I hope that you have a wonderful weekend, sending love and hugs, bye for now. 😉🥰🤗💜💜💜

It’s called quarter sawn oak where you get the tigered stripes pattern flaky oak. Your floor also has Rift cut oak where you get straight lines in your oak planks. They don’t even allow quarter sawn when there’s a shortage of aging oak trees. cutting quarter sawn boards waste more lumber so it’s more expensive. You have a great oak floor!

The marble is stunning but fragile - no acid i.e. lemon juice or vinegar since marble is calc so acid will dissolve it. Also you need to protect it from warm pots ! Love what you are doing to the house

Drew, your home is going to be absolutely gorgeous when it's finished. Forget it it's beautiful now but you're turning it into a real gem. Love the marble, love the faucet for the kitchen, and love the wood floor. Oh and that's very old oak that they used. When they built your house they spared no expense. I had antique oak table out of quarter saw oak or also called tiger oak. The grain is beautiful.
