Wait! The whole point of a Direct Online Starter (DOL) is to use a low-voltage coil to control a high-voltage motor. Are you sure there is a relay with 415v coil? edit: I just saw this video ruclips.net/video/qlqPdLGwJxk/видео.html at 4:04 mentioning that indeed 400v coils/relays do exist...
Very few of these around these days...Its all VSDs and varients...You should be doing a video on them showing the importance of using the correct type of cable and correct earthing and screening connections.I see so many done wrong, wired in SWA and wondering why the cables are at such high temperature ,and glwhy their bearings are shot after 3 months
what if you don't have a Neutral available, what do you do? and that if you want to turn the motor (s) on and off automatically with pressure , limit switches or a thermostat?
So long as the control wiring is rated higher than the supply fuses, as will be the case for small motors, there is no problem. In larger motors, which may have supply cables of say 6mm or larger, it would be unfeasible to use that size cable for the control wiring so, yes a fuse would be needed.
@NickToland so don't take your L1 feed from the top of the contactor? And if you do, the control circuit must be wired in cables rated the same as the motor circuit...?

I could ever understand how DOL single phase and 3 Phase motors work before watching your videos.....THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Would love to watch your video explaning a star Delta starter for beginners. I like your presentations. Very helpful.
hi pls also show for 3 phase DOL using 415v coil please. thankyou

Please do explain for 3 phase dol starter with 3 phase contactor
Hi do you maybe gave any online trainning modules tgat I can complete for DOL start delta etc?
what if you don't have a Neutral available, what do you do?

Now for a star-delta starter.
👍👍👍👍👍
👌
Single phase looks more complicated than the 3 phase
Hello sir ,can you show me a boiler electrical wiring

Joss
this means your control circuit is using the same MCB rating as the motor, dont agree with this
Interesting. What would you do? Throw another 6A or smaller mcb to supply the control circuit?
I don't understand why the control circuit wasn't separated from power one
