I bought the 5 dollar part now my deep freezer work im so happy i posted a free deep freezer and got so many responses before deleting the post to see if it could be fixed. Took my husband less than 5 minutes
This video helped me remove the relay cover of a Frigidaire FFHT1425VV refrigerator with a little bit of prying and careful force. It had similar arrow diagrams on the cover that don't help much. Thanks for the quick tutorial.
On my Danby mini-fridge the plastic cover actually had the wires threaded through it! Was a huge pain to carefully pull them out one by one, making sure to wiggle the thicker black cables out! Just want you to know if you’re struggling you can do it! If the fridge is already broken don’t feel like you need to be too careful!
Hi DIY Grunt, I have a similar deep freezer as yours in this video. It stopped working some days ago. After watching your great video, I replaced the relay start, the freezer did not work. I installed a 3 in 1 universal relay capacitor, again it did not work and the compressor does not produce the familiar humming noise. What do you think is the problem? Maybe it is the bad thermostat. But I don't know how to remove the thermostat. Would you please do another video clip showing step by step how to remove and replace the thermostat? I think many others will watch it too. Please show how to remove the thermostat from the plastic cover. Much obliged. Joe Zhou
I'm sorry I have not had to do that yet so I can't provide any advice to help at this time. However a good resource to try is RepairClinic.com, they sell parts for home appliances and have trouble shooting videos and repair tips.
Was my video not good enough at showing how I got it off (feedback is helpful)? It is possible that if you have the a different freezer you might have a different removal process for your Relay Cover. The first time I went to remove mine involved myself and my dad fighting with it for probably 30 minutes maybe more before we figured it out, definitely not our best DIY moment. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.
@The DIY Grunt It's not your fault no worries, it's the same type with those weird instructions but there's not enough space between the cover and the fridge wall for me to use a screw driver. The side doesn't come off or anything like that. I got it off eventually with a bit of manhandling and what you did and explained helped greatly. It was like 2am when I was trying to fix my fridge because it had cut off sometime in the day when I wasn't home so I was a bit frustrated. It's still broken but I did get the cover off.
If you need to see how to replace the relay itself, head over to this video ruclips.net/video/tbKYDoSwdfI/видео.html
Detailed and quick without being excessively verbose. I appreciate you brother

Great job! Thanks for making this video, this helped me today in pulling out the cover, otherwise I wouldn't have a clue.

I'm glad it helped. The provided diagram definitely does not explain the process well.
What a lifesaver. This was very helpful. I have the exact same freezer. You made a difficult task, quite simple. Thanks
Thanks for an excellent DIY video. Made changing the start relay on my Hotpoint freezer simple. Appreciate it.
Thanks man! You saved me from breaking my new fridge 😅
