900 subs with a well put together video with an actual audio mic. This doesn’t add up. Good luck on the grind you got my sub, someone who loves and misses Hong Kong.
Great video, informative and full of details. I love how you say the names in cantonese, it’s definitely helpful next time im in Hongkong. Thanks a lot :)
this is a good guide! ive traveled to HK for the food about 4 times now, and have checked out so many videos and guide, and after watching this one, I found myself making notes on some of these places and what to order! goes to show, there always more to know about HK!
Agree! Great job on the guide! Loved the mix of recommendations in there including some places which are not the well-known popular ones everybody goes too. I'm hungry now..... lol
Thank you! I go to Hong Kong a lot too because I have relatives there, but the food is definitely also something I look forward to each time. Editing this video was hard because I kept getting hungry and craving the food haha
Thank you for your support TheFreeElf! I have to be honest, I usually go to the same places and order the same things (because I'm usually in Hong Kong for a limited amount of time so I don't want to risk anything haha) but my last trip my sister introduced me to a lot of new things and places (more videos to come!)
Good video..quick, clear, cheerful and informative, especially love the good pronunciation of the food items... only have to pause it to take name/address of the restaurants..sure going to try them out...a lot of my favorites too. Hope I get to try the Teng Zai Fun..btw what to do with the bowl after you finish it?
I personally don't eat goose much, but one place that comes to mind is Kam's Roast Goose in Wan Chai. They're featured in the Michelin Guide and there is always a queue outside
Hello there! 👋🏻 Thank you so much for the useful information, it's super helpful for my HK trip in December! 😍 I also noticed you girls have a very cute Aussie accent ^_^ I study in Melbourne actually hehe
Thank you Vanise! We're from Sydney but now I'm living in Japan. My sister and I were able to time our holidays earlier this year so we went to Hong Kong to together to visit family, travel around and eat! Have fun on your trip. Let me know if you want any recommendations on places to visit :)
Amazing! The food looks great, you explain everything clearly, being positive, too. Nice remembering my previous visits to the btfl. HKG. Looking fwd. to returning! Were the food names in Mandarin or in Cantonese?
Hi there, great video and info! I got a question. What do you think the best way to tell the staff what I like to eat if I cannot speak Cantonese? I think we will have some difficulties to buy some foods, such as the food you buy from the boat. Since some places do not have English menu and even some don't have pictures. Ow wait, I think I can screen capture your video and let them see. Do you think it will work?
You should be able to get by with just English. If there is something you absolutely want to eat and don't want to risk getting the order wrong, then you can show them a picture or like you said, even a screenshot of my video with the food name haha
hi may I know which month this video was shot in ? ive been gg to Hong Kong and visiting that street food shop in mongkok for years now but I went in June this year and ithe stall was gone I was wondering if maybe they're back ? great video by the way !!
Oh! This video was shot in March, so it could be gone, I don't know... I get sad too when things I look forward to, or places I'm used to visiting (almost like routine) aren't there anymore!
One of my favourite things about Hong Kong is the food, and the fact that you can eat lots of delicious things without breaking the bank. I tried to share as much of my favourite food as possible in this video but of course the list is not exhaustive. If you ever make a video on more expensive eats in Hong Kong, I would love to see your recommendations :)
@@colourmycamera Thanks! A lot of people still seem to think being vegetarian/vegan is crazy though... At least all my relatives in HK :/ (they say things like, animals are born just to be eaten lol)
I know what you mean, though it's not something that's unique to HK. Definitely have encountered the same/similar view in all the places I've been to. In case you're interested, Gaiaveggie is one of my favourite vegetarian restaurants in HK. My grandma has been vegetarian for about 20+ years and this is her go to place (actually she introduced it to me). Btw, your drawings are awesome! :)
It's a shame you feel that way that but perhaps you are scarred by a negative experience causing you to generalise so strongly. In my opinion, every place has their cultural specialties whether it's food or something else, and one should be respectful of that.
"Hong Kong is a foodies paradise". Wow. Let me tell you, it's not. "Hong Kong has some of the best street food in the word". It doesn't. I live in Hong Kong and food here, in general just sucks. I feel so frustrated sometimes. They manage to mess up even pastas. I really don't get where they get their palate from and why is it like this... I love Korean and Japanese food and they even manage to butcher that in most restaurants. Jesus. You can call me small-minded or whatever but I have tried most things in this video. I have tried food from all over the world and all cuisines have amazing dishes but Hong Kong's food scene is very mediocre.
It's a shame you feel that way and I disagree with you, but you are entitled to your opinion. However, the way you have expressed your views is extremely disrespectful and generalised. Even if you feel strongly about something there's no need to be rude about it.
@@colourmycamera Thanks for sharing. I loved your video! I have tried all the foods you mentioned and love them all. I believe every country has their own cuisines and specialities, just as every person has their own likes and dislikes. No cuisine is one size fits all. I've been to many countries and eaten a fair share of not so great foods, but just because I don't like it doesn't necessarily mean that country's food sucks. So for someone to generalise and question a country's palate and to say that their food sucks...well that's plain rude and disrespectful to that country and it's culture, not to mention..it shows their ignorance.
👍🏻👍🏻😆good introduce of Hk food 🤤 飲品都要介紹,例如凍奶茶,凍檸茶,凍鴛鴦,茶走 etc 😁

Never understood the appeal of gai daan jai. I find them boring and unsatisfying, but I know lots of people love it.
Amazing! The food looks great, you explain everything clearly, being positive, too. Nice remembering my previous visits to the btfl. HKG. Looking fwd. to returning! Were the food names in Mandarin or in Cantonese?
Thank you for watching! The food names were in Cantonese :)
Amazing!! N
Yesss Yamcha!!!
Your favourites are almost same as mine. You missed seafood and claypot rice.
Thanks for the yummy foods. Click subscribed.
Thank you for your support!
Yum Cha translated as Drink Tea or Dim Sum
Speaking of noodles, i think 譚仔 is also very good
Nice! Any particular dish you like most?
Its Sichuan spicy soup is the best!

Thanks, I'll try it next time I'm back! And I am a native Cantonese speaker :)

I will pretty much only survive on 7-Eleven since I can’t eat anything exotic
Is the vegetarian/vegan scene big in HK? It seems like almost everything is meat ;_;
Yes! There are certainly vegetarian/vegan restaurants and options in hk! :)

Hong Kong is a small (republican Chinese territory)我國(olso a new Territory of China) or peoples Republic of China
You try to give the video more brightness it will be great if you do
It cheap but too squishy
You are so beautiful.
I Can't Tell Are You Speaking Cantonese Or Not. Even Tho I'm From Hong Kong XD
I no like Hongkong very2 hottttt
"Best street food" = diarrhea for a week. None of that is fit for human consumption.
It's a shame you feel that way that but perhaps you are scarred by a negative experience causing you to generalise so strongly. In my opinion, every place has their cultural specialties whether it's food or something else, and one should be respectful of that.
WTF??? Yeah you stick with Mac Donalds very healthy for your body hmmm🙈.
It's weird how she pronounces everything correctly but decided to do the western, butchered "yum cha" pronunciation
"Hong Kong is a foodies paradise". Wow. Let me tell you, it's not.
"Hong Kong has some of the best street food in the word". It doesn't.
