Yesterday I almost had the win with the Lizards on 1 point! I really needed 1 more turn, behind I saw that I could have won hahha I could have taken 1 point extra haha
The otters just passed me after that....

Love the Lizard Cult's style, but it takes so long to start scoring and any setback is devastating. It's just too hard to win.
Yes they are extremely tough..... 😂
They key, ive discovered, is that you only want to hit 10 points, then claim a dominance victory. Its hard to sustain points up to 30, but gardena make Rulership easy, and acolyte losses means you bounce back frpm those desperate to stop a dominace victory when they pile on.

Came back here after losing badly to the PC 😂. I think I’m wrapping my head around their play style very aggressive which I was not being in my games 😅
Picked up the DLC on Steam and holy crap, these are the least intuitive faction I've played yet. Almost like they're just different for the sake of being different. Hoping to get some good tips from this video!!
They are probably my second fav faction of all time. Very different. Very difficult. Very fun. Play for the long game

Erik Coll yes sir! Vast strategy guides are being written right now actually :) any other games you are interested in? Yes goblins are insane when played right. Nothing a good dragon can’t fix tho. Or even a knight.

David Simpson have they finalized the rules for them now? When I was checking last. Mind you it was months ago they hadn’t settled on the rules yet? I would love to cover them! :D

In my opinion their underpowered and likely to lose but I love them so much and their fun so that's what matters.
They aren't easy! They are a high complexity faction. That is for sure.
Just got these guys yesterday, tried them against bots.
Ended up having a round the cats went into escalated daylight, and killed a ton of my guys... Meaning I had like 15 acolytes. And then next turn I had a hated outcast. Got a bunch of gardens and converts out of that XD
Then later got the Birds to crash and turmoil repeatedly by using gardens to lock down their options.
It was really fun.
Lizards are so much fun because i still struggle playing them!

Benjamin Hélie they are so much fun. I entirely get it. I haven’t won as many games with them as ide like..
They are better in 3 players tbh and also they in combination with otters can be strong in 4 playes..and diplomacy is key with them

Haha thank you a ton! I actually like to play them a lot. Especially when I know the people at the table are inexperienced, because they are difficult and always pose a thoughtful challenge

Great video but I have a question… In tip 3, how the cards’ management has anything related to what outcast I am? Since Outcast is for conspiracies and card types are for rituals, or am I misunderstood this faction’s rules?
Because when you discard cards or craft them they go into the lost souls pile. which will be calculated at the beginning of your turns to see what the outcast suit is. The outcast suit determines where your conspiracies come from!

This is updated with the new player board. The only thing not included is advanced setup. Which isn’t released.. but this was made with the most new patch of lizards

Are these tips affected by the official updated tournament rules posted on board game geek?
Cameron Wells the rules are up to date! When I go over my point of getting 2 gardens of each I animated card draw symbols where the tournament rules and updated player boards have placed them. So any tips you learn here will work with updated player boards and tournament rules :) thanks for watching!

Pretty much. And depends on what the outcast is. They are tough 😂
For tip 3 you talk about balancing your hand so that there are always options no matter who the outcast is.
As I understood it apart from crafting, and discarding, the option of playing a card is completely independent of who the outcast is, as the outcast only effects acolyte actions and crafting?
Am I getting confused?
Yeah I find it good to balance anyways. gives you discarding options to try and influence the outcast. or gives crafting options no matter the suit.

Why do you show that the Lizards draw three cards when they have 2 of each Garden out? Do they not need 3 rabbit gardens and 4 mice gardens to draw subsequent cards? Did I miss a faction update?
Chad Edwards yes the board is updated the way I show in this video. Those updated player boards will be able to be bought separately. They are a way to balance the lizards a little bit. But for an extra hard experience just play them with the old board. :)

Chad Edwards yeah! On boardgame geek for root. They release what updates and they had a 3rd edition balance changes to each faction which updated some boards and rules. Look up PNP update kit root

Anyone know how to beat the Lizard Cult?
Destroy their gardens! They have to discard cards which really hurts their scoring!
How to beat them?
Beating Lizards requires that you dont kill their lizards so they dont get to use conspiracies. unless they have a weak garden. in that case take it out. Try to insure you are taking a lot of building spaces and if you need to play cards of a certain suit to sway the outcast suit a different way!
