If you were to do any active duty or reserve service, I'd recommend the Marines or any of the reserve components. 100% recommend the state guard. I love this country and what it was founded upon, but those beliefs have long since passed. It's tragic!

In 1977 I was on the Silent Precision Drill Team at Marine Military Academy, and we were marching down the tarmac at the Harlingen Airshow with Garands with fixed bayonets, just like this shot in the video of the USMC's 8th and I Silent Precision Drill Team (who we were patterned after), when the Blue Angels passed over us so low it damned near took our covers off our heads. Talk about a turgidity-inducing moment.
This brought tears to my eyes. I was a forest fire lookout in Oregon. A couple times I have seen fully loaded orange and white DC-10 fire fighting aircraft, flying low and slow over my lookout. Making an approach for a retardant drop. Totally awesome to witness.

A great array of jets and planes. Some pretty brave (crazy) people who still have heads. Filmers have to be ready and know it'll be a split second chance to capture some of these jets.They did an awesome job! The last shot of the flyover as the National Anthem was ending, is what gets the tears spilling out. Our military, the protective power of these pilots/jets along with our country's song proudly sung, is over the top emotional. My dad was in the navy, brother in Vietnam. Even before 9/11, I flew the flag off my balcony facing a very busy st. so everyone could see, 8 mths out of the yr. (harsh winters, windy area) I also love watching the Navy's carriers, and how these young men and women team up to carry out an extremely dangerous, but honorable job helping these pilots take off and land safely.
It’s a Pitts stunt plane, my favourite one and it is made to do low vertical hovers and someone attach gear onto their wings and landed one upside down (look it up) The Pitts is an amazing plane and takes so much skill to fly(my dad flew one)

I was in the stadium when Mark McGwire tied the single-season home run record. The coach had some friends in the National Guard and he had them do a flyover just like that last clip. You can't hear a thing until they're right on top of you, and I can't tell you how impressive that is unless you see it for yourself. The crowd went crazy

That's one of the perks of flight ops at sea. Nothing to damage or civilians to get up tight. You get to watch hi speed fly bys all day long. Much more interesting back in the day when the CAG operated numerous airframe types and fast stuff had huge afterburners.
I wish I was able to record the flyover at the NASCAR race at Phoenix in March. A pair of F-35's came in low and hit the afterburners. Shook the entire grandstands. It was AWESOME!

My favorite low fly by was and always will be at, I believe, the Paris Airshow, where the SR - 71flew down the flight line before the stands of fans canted at about a 33 degree angle showing the upper surface of the plane, with only one engine lit. I'm sure it's somewhere here on RUclips. If anyone knows what it's listed under, I'd be forever grateful to you for letting me know. It was absolutely amazing. Everything after it was, well, kinda' left wanting.

I wish I was able to record the flyover at the NASCAR race at Phoenix in March. A pair of F-35's came in low and hit the afterburners. Shook the entire grandstands. It was AWESOME!

My favorite low fly by was and always will be at, I believe, the Paris Airshow, where the SR - 71flew down the flight line before the stands of fans canted at about a 33 degree angle showing the upper surface of the plane, with only one engine lit. I'm sure it's somewhere here on RUclips. If anyone knows what it's listed under, I'd be forever grateful to you for letting me know. It was absolutely amazing. Everything after it was, well, kinda' left wanting.

If you don't hear the jets as they approach they are supersonic, if you do hear them they are subsonic. Some jets were right on the peed of sound.
